Dita our rescue dog of just over three yrs died yesterday in the garden peacefully on the grass in the sun. (this was a shock but I am happy it was this way, just old age I guess) She was a fantastic dog/companion we took her all over with us. This is her on her first day at her new home and away from what ever traumas she had previously suffered and below are her retirement years I don't want to spoil yr day. I couldn't talk about it, I am just too upset. I just had to share this with you I hope you don't mind. Love Dawn xx

Oh Dawn I am so sorry to hear of Dita's passing. She looks so happy in the pictures. Its so great you were able to give her all the love in her later years.

My heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry to hear this. At least she was loved, well fed, and NOT ABUSED in her later years. Go cry. It will make you feel better.

ReplyDeleteOh Dawn I'm so sorry to hear about your lost. I have tears in my eyes as I type as I can understand how it feels to lose such an important member of the family - we lost our two cats within 9wks of each other earlier this year and even though they were both a good age (Jessica was 19 and Charlie 15) it still hurts. Jessica was helped along, and Charlie just gave up without her.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Dita had a very happy life with you, regardless of whatever happened in her past. It should probably be a comfort that she died peacefully and not through illness, but to be honest, I'm not sure that it makes it any more bearable.
I hope you are bearing up as a family, and if you ever need an ear (or rather eye) to unload upon, my inbox is always open. I've made a few very good friends on here who have helped me through my sadnesses when I can't talk for the tears, and family/friends don't quite understand the helpless feeling.

What a blessed dog she has been to be rescued by such a fabulous and loving family - I do believe God knew what He was doing when He made animals for our pleasure and they do bring such pleasure!!
