SCD Colour theme 'Claret & Blue'

So how you all doing? It's Friday and a big thank you for all your well wishes and love. Friday of course is Something Completely Different (SCD) for short ;0) And it's the last colour challenge of October and Sioux is the leader this week. She has chosen this lovely combo and It reminded me of wine (Claret) and France is well known for the odd bit of the grape juice ha ha, so I went from there. And as we had such a ball with the torsos  I had to use them this month I am looking forward to seeing what you have created with this colour combo this week I'll be round through the week to see what you have been up to.

Here is a close up. I put lots of layers on here again this week. I used lots of the tape from Tim Holtz then some stamps, then more stamps on tissue paper so you still got to see the tape and previous stamps and then some yummy ribbon a wee bit of sewing stuck a few bits on and voila! that's it! I hope you like my little effort this week and I know your going to love what my fellow teamies have been up to so don't forget to pop by SCD and you are sure to receive some inspiration. Love Dawn xx

Charity Stich-a-thon

Hello all, hope you're all well. I however, have had two operations one each Monday over the last two weeks (both only day case but I was still put to sleep) Not to worry all is well. I just thought you all deserved a better explanation as to why I hadn't been about much this last two weeks. So I am recouping lol I did manage last week to make these two lovely sewing projects. One is a quilted blanket for the lovely Paris Kitten (she and Lola are such good friends already). and the other is a hammock for a Guineapig charity. So I hope you like it Dazie ;0) I have the address I will send it hopefully by the end of the week. I have lots of things to create and I have my beautiful neice Elizabeth for the day, so she will be baking lots of goodies. Don't forget about my CANDY £20 of vouchers. Love Dawn xx

SCD Colour theme 'greens & yellows'

Hello fellow crafters/bloggers what a whirl wind of a week. I can not believe it's Friday, I almost missed this post altogether (shame on me) However, I have lots to discuss so on on to business ;0) I hope you are all well and I am sorry I didn't get round to all the participants of last week colour challenge of SCD as I normally do,  we had a great turn out thank you all for supporting the challenge and I am so glad you had a fabby time with it. As you can see it's a tag for me this week and sticking to the wonderful challenge colours of green's and yellow's so Autumnal.

Here is a close up and you can see all the lovely colours which are DIs layers on a tag using some fabby Oxford Impression stamps and a wee bit of stickles glitter, did I say how busy I was this week? Although simple I really like 'Autumn in Paris' and I hope you do to.

Meet another addition to our happy home, this is Lola a 4mth old cross Beagle/Dash hound maybe some Basset in there too lol We lost our beloved dog Dita in March and hubby decided he was putting on too much weight and needed another dog. She is just darling but in no way a replacement of our beloved Dita. Lola is also a rescue  dog and has firmly made her self part of the family already. She is wonderful with our grand son and the cats (i.e. she doesn't chase them) and they are staying clear of her, but they have been in  the same room and she just watches them and then want's to play, although the cats may not feel playful with her just yet! But all are tolerant of each other so this is fabby news (makes me very happy I can tell you) I love my cats so much and she would have had to go back if they couldn't of got on so all is well I hope you will all welcome her.

And finally but by no means least I have reached my 200th follower and I am so thankful that you are all part of my crafting journey. I would like to reward that by giving you a gift! Yep candy is a great way to celebrate. As you are aware I am now a GDT member of the Altered Element The lovely Lynne has agreed to give a £10 voucher for me to give away (HOW COOL?) and as I have been asked to appear in November for another GDT (tell you when I am allowed) and just because I have been missing all week I am also going to give a £10 voucher for the Altered Element So that is a MASSIVE £20 to spend on whatever you would like to in the Altered Element Go and have a look, if you don't know this shop already I promise you it's a fab place for all you mixed media artist & card makers alike. So what do you have to do? Well leave a comment. That's all you have to do. I hope you continue to stop by and share my crafting journey as you are all inspirations to me. Love Dawn xx

SCD Colour theme 'Colours Black & Orange'

Almost week end. And Friday means SCD And it's me who is choosing the colours this week. How about Orange & Black ;0) Now of course a certain time of year is often related to these colours and I want you to have fun! However, it doesn't have to be Halloween, you only have to stick to the colour combination, remember this is a free month so you can make any thing you like ATCs ,Tags, you can even alter something , as I have. Anything you like. Just stick to the colours.

I really wanted to have a play and show you at the same time you can use some stamps for other themes you may not even dream of lol Look at my pumpkin man! yep that's a WOJ stamp for Christmas (which I won actually yay) and this is the first time I have used it. But with a little imagination and some yummy colouring I made a real examplen with this stamp. I bought some frames made with paper. I inked them up with some pearlescent ink for a nice shimmer. Some yummy stickers I bough in the summer on sale added a hand drawn cobweb or two and altered a frame from a plain silver with some foil flakes that are available at The Altered Element. A little black ribbon and that was it. Not bad considering I don't own a single Halloween stamp (I really do have to get some more stamps lol) any excuse lol. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Stamp, WOJ. Frame, Ikea. Coloured with Copics. Ink, Brilliance. Stickers, Violette. Ribbon, Stash. Frame(small) Stampin Up. Sentiment ? Digi stamp I found.

The theme is 'enchanted' and they are already appearing on The Altered Element Blog I am stunned by their talent honestly and I am pleased to be associating with these talented women.

Now on to this thoughtful woman ;0) I love these stamps so very much. I am entering this tag in for two challenges (she deserves a showing lol) the first is Wednesday Stamper who's theme is 'Faces' You can create anything you like but you must use a rubber stamp and also Tag Tuesday who's theme is 'Moon'

And here is her Close Up. I hope you can see how I have created this tag. First some quality card stock, then the stamped image, I have also stamped the image on some patterned paper and then cut out her Lacey sleeves and added them, I also added some actual lace to the neck area and inked this up to look vintage. That's it really. I hope you like this tag and I will be back tomorrow with another wonderful challenge from the SCD team hope you can join in. Love Dawn xx

Audrey ATC

There is a Couple of new challenge blogs on the block ;0) The first is called The Stampsmith Challenge Looks like there are going to be some great prizes. For the first week you can use any kind of stamp, the theme is 'Dressing Up!' However, after this first week it has to be a stampsmith image. I really like the SS stamps this is one above, Audrey Hepburn is so classic. And there are loads that are like photographs when you print them yummy! The second blog is Vicki's The cheerful stamp pad The theme is 'Women' I think the dear Audrey qualifies. Vicki has no shop or sponsor so she will be picking a winner by random and displaying that winner all week on her blog and givng a small prize with her very own pennies, that's so nice of you Vivcki. Good luck to the two new blogs!

Here is her close up, just a simple ATC. Card stock with DP on that then stamped image a little DI round the edges and then some bling & ribbon from my stash how yummy? hope you will pop by and play. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Stamps, Stampsmith (SS) Inks, Distress innks (DIs) Tim Holtz & Stazon. Card stock Stampin Up (SU) Design Paper (DP) Kiser Craft. Gems, Papermania. Ribbon, Stash.

T for Travel

Morning it's Sunday a fave day of the week for me, why? because I'm off to church  ;0) However, I thought I would leave you with this little beauty. (well I think so lol) I finally got my letter finished, so I now have the word ART see here and here. Any way, on one of those Wednesdays (you know the ones I mean WOYWW) you saw a glimpse of my T and I thought I would show it off all finished.

And now for the close up. I made the Eiffel Tower & crown, with some Sculpy clay (available from the Altered Element (AE)) I covered a letter with the map. I the took some stamps and  inks,  stamped on to  some tissue paper and glued on, I like how you can get a perfect stamped image round corners with this technique ;0) Stamped some images on to quality card stock and cut out and attached to the T along with some lace and  a metal sentiment. They can make great gifts, for children's rooms they can look fab (child's name and then altered with a theme to suit the child) I hope you have found this interesting, thank you for all the comments of late and stopping by. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Stamps, Tim Holtz and Oxford impressions. Clay, Sculpy, from AE. Lace, stash. Sentiment & DIs Tim Holtz.

Autumn Canvass

It's another beautiful Autumnal day out side today, so I am going with it ;0) The The stamp man are on week 7 and each fortnight they have a challenge and they're having, Autumn. Cindy over at Whimsical Musings asked me to play along,  you can enter anything. I have to say I love her other blog I owe it all to him if you get time pop along.  Also Gingersnap Creations who are asking for nutrals and one colour my colour is red! The rest is pretty nutral. And finally but by no mean least is the wonderful Stamping Sisters in Christ are asking for us to think about the Lords creations. I think the seasons are a wonderful part of the creation.

Here is a close up. You really wouldn't believe the amount of layers on this. First I put some Texture Paste on the canvass (left over night to dry) then I got some acrylic paints out, you should be able to see the hills and sky (you can make photos larger if you want to have a look) then tissue paper and lots of it all stamped with DIs and glued on (I used PVA 1/2 and 1/2 with water) Then I die cut out my leaves with the new TH die. This is gong to be so versatile. I used the technique  from page 33 of Tim's book CCs,  with a large  piece of quality card stock then allowed to dry, then die cut. And a final little touch of flakes of foil. The acyclic paints, texture paste and foil are available at the Altered Element. Do pop along to all the DTs I have taken part with they have some stunning talent to show you. Love Dawn xx

SCD Colour theme 'Colours green & purple'

Yay it's Friday again. I don't know if to cheer or scream in horror at just how fast we are getting through October already! The lovely Something Completely Different team have done it again this may seem an odd colour combination but this was a real tweet for me ;0) and I decided to make a 'twinchie' For those of you who don't know is a small piece of art 2x2 you can also have inchies and trinchies 1x1 and 3x3 respectively. If you haven't done this before why not try to work on this smaller area and see what you can come up with. You can use these small works of art at a later date to add to cards, ATCs and LOs just to name a few if you have a go let me know, I would love to see what you come up with ;0)

Here is my close up. I cut some glossy paper and swiped with DI then I added a few Alcohol inks allowed to dry. Then cut out an image and put some silicone glue (SG) on the back to give lift.  Surrounded the edges with stickles and then wrote on the button with permanent marker put some thread through and then stuck the button to the twinchie and your done! I hope you will join in, you all really seemed to enjoy the the Autumn colours last week and it was really nice to see so many of you and a joy to see all the different projects you shared. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Glossy Card Stock, Alcohol inks, Stickle glitter glue and Distress Inks (DI)s, Ranger. Image, patterend paper. Button & thread Stash.

Door hanger

Afternoon it's Thursday, and I thought I would share what I was working on last night. Nothing special, however I have a new calling (job) at my church, as you can see I am now the librarian and I thought I would make a wee door hanger to give my details (post it note to hide tel number) and well make the door to the library look a little more studious ha ha. I have also started a new blog I don't know if it will be for you. I am a very spiritual person and I try to live the gospel 24/7 I am not always successful by any stretch of the imagination lol but I thought it would be nice to offer prayers for people who were ill or struggling in some way and just to share my thoughts and maybe a little craft with a religious theme too I know it's not for every one so here is a link to my new blog I have called it Dawnies Spiritual Thoughts there will be other things to, if you have a charity event you would like to advertise or any spiritual pictures you would like to share please get in contact. Love Dawn xx

SCD Colour theme 'Autumn Colours orange brown & Gold'

It's Friday again, and a new month. I have great news your going to love this months theme. You can make ANYTHING! Yes that's right, anything. All this month we will have a colour combo each week for you to follow. You can make one of our previous challenges like an inchie, arch,  twinchie, ATC or even a card the ball is in your court so do play ;0). This is a simple card my daughter-in-law was in hospital all yesterday having an operation and I have my beautiful grandson since Wed. so it has been a little difficult to do any thing too time consuming. However, as we can make anything I hope to alter something this month using the colour combo so I think this month is going to be so much fun! Pop along  Here to have a look at the other DT members who have yet again done a super job. I had a great time looking at all your arches through the month of Sept. and I hope you will join us all again this month. So get your creative juices flowing, and I will see you soon. Love Dawn xx.
