REMEMBERENCE SUNDAY (Mojo Monday 111)

I bought these adorable stamps yesterday how cute is the hedgehog awhhh and loving the Poppy from Papermania £1 goes to the boys and girls from this purchase.

I have put some Glossy accents on the flowers, eyes & nose of the hedgie, I really enjoyed colouring him in too I may well be getting there.

Same with the Poppy lots of different reds to give a little dimension to this I have made a 3D one too but the sketch from Mojo Monday I needed to put hedgie on top so did a flat one with some versamark and clear EP to give it texture.

And finally the inside. However, this is my thank you to all those who have gave their life for us past Wars and of course the present.

I love all the Armed forces and I love and am very thankful for the job you do for us GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU ALL SAFE. Think of our boys & girls, buy a poppy. I buy every year and now I have bought this stamp set too! I know I can use the poppy again as a flower in it's own right but for NOW it's for all you BRAVE MEN & WOMEN AND YOUR PARENTS WIVES HUSBANDS & OTHERS WHO I AM SURE MISS YOU WHERE EVER YOU ARE IN THE WORLD AND OF COURSE TO THOSE WHO HAVE LEFT US. London in a box

I love London (in small doses ha ha) the shows, sights and museums are wonderful It's been a while since I have been though. I was looking through some of my craft stamper magazines and saw a project, I thought at the time I would love to do something like this with a London theme so a bit of work and recycling and look what we have?

The box is a herb box I'm not using any more as I have a Huge (half barrel) pot outside with my herbs in this used to sit on the windowsill in the kitchen. Don't ask me what I am going to do with it now it's finished though lol. All the stamps used are from Crafty Individuals they are super! love the flourish. I stamped this onto SU card stock and then cut it out one SU Real Red ink and the other I embossed with versamark and then lots of gold EP loving the effect.

I bought a set of buttons (craftime) and they had a London theme so the bus, stamp & solder you can see. Made me think of my remembrance card I made for the Mojo Monday challenge (looks like no one has seen it I used new stamps too!) because of all the red.

I got the acrylic paints out lol love messing I didn't want it to be tidy I wanted a kind of distressed look to it, the box is covered in gesso. The flags are ribbon, I bought some American flags too you never know they may come in handy lol I have had the big bus ages from a local craft shop two for a £1 I think any way I have none left lol.

I hope you like this 3D project haven't been looking much round blog land so don't know if it would fit a challenge or not. So another project just done because! lol I won't give a lit of items as I have covered this in the body of the post. Thank you for looking. Love Dawn xx

Just for FUN!

How cutie is this BUNNY?? love her she is from Greeting Farm she's called Maggie awh I may have to buy the others I love them. The sentiment is Stampin' Up! (SU) I coloured the image in with whisper pens I think I like the results I have been getting with the last few images. But I would like to get some copics I think i am going to make the move not because of any other reason but the choice of shades (well the quality too) but I have manages quite successfully now I have worked out the skill involved with the whispers but there are just not enough shades I WANT MORE COLOURS lololol

I had seen a few little challenges with animals and realised I only had birds and butterflys so bought Hedgehog from Penny black (see post below) so gorgeous, he is adorable and Maggie here. You can see I have put some glossy assents on eyes, bows and buttons. Lots of flowers all prima and EF had ages but thought I would use some completely different colours, lilac & peach (orange) love the brightness :0)

All the brads here are Making Memories but the one on the sentiment is Papermania the DP is My Minds Eye. The card stock is Co-Ordinations (sanded) and Stampin' Up!

I also used a stampin'Up stamp & ink inside lovely you can still write over it and it's a nice pattern. Thank you for looking. Love Dawn xx

Post Card 'The love of Paris'

Well, I like this. I have the vintage bug, but not very good yet! l do love messing with the paint EP and all the bit's & bobs feels like craft lol. I am still stuck in my head when I see some projects what would you use if for? (Like some 3D projects) but then I think I like looking at them it is a form of art in a way what do you think? I used a lot of imagination here I have entitled this peice 'The love of Paris' I have been but only passed through & on holiday programs I always feel the atmosphere and I know some crafters who go to the French Markets oh what bliss, I would love to travel but money doesn't allow so I dream alot lol of far away places and about each culture and what it has to offer. So maybe I should think more of this and make some more post cards of places I would like to visit (talk about idea while you type lol) mmm
I have taken some lovely die cuts and painted over their lovely colours and made them more tatty, I have stamped and put emboss powder loose on the board and just heated it to get the feel, I loved the photo I had from the Crafty Individual (a freebie for having Craft Stamper as subscription) I have used them a few times now in sliders, inches etc here i used a versamark pen and then added the EP on the hair & lips to make it this way I really like the overall look of it and it took forever! with this kind of project for me it's what to add then when to stop as I said to me this is like art.
A better view here I think of some really nice detail
And again the stamping I did really took over but I think it didn't look too much (I trick I think I am mastering) lots of work but not to look like it, I think it just looks like it's been thrown together quickly (well I hope it does kind of) when you look at is as a whole, However, when you look at parts for a while you can see a lot of detail, I have seen this with cards too (no wonder you never want to part with them) well I know I don't some of the time. The work does become your art and you don't want to give it to some one who isn't going to appreciate it for the work & Ideas you have put into it! I hope you would like to leave a comment and have a little look around while your here if you can. Picked my grandson up yesterday so may be busy with him for a couple of days, look forward to coming back and looking at your work. Thank you for looking. Love Dawn xx

I got some paint out and made a couple of these tags they take as long as you have and I love the end result although whether I would use them as tags I don't know.
I got some glimmer mist out and some masks that Barbra made for me and went to work (finally used one lol) A crown if you can see it! I used some UTEE and added some gold EP to it and put my stamp in to give a pattern to it, I also put some black paint on then whiped it off again so it would stay in the resesses and make it look more vintage.
I used the reverse on the other smaller tag too! I love the swirl such a good buy (I though a little expensive at the time but not when you thing how versatile it is) it's from Crafty Individuals, I also used lots of bits & bobs from my draw I though I wouldn't really use on cards as this is from stash I bought when I first started like the cat, butterflies and metal but any how here it is please stay and have a nosey around if you have the time. Thank you for looking and any comment you may have left. Love Dawn xx

Sketch Saturday 74 & Allsorts 24

Yep I am here again with another card for the Sketch Saturday Challenge I have altered it a little changing the place of the sentiment however I still think you can tell I have followed the sketch, I bought this a while ago but not really used it much, I have carried the Autumnal colours through here, I have also used this card for the Allsorts challenge I was struggling I have to say as the theme is furry friends I have no animal stamps (gasp) I know, any way she is holding her furry friend the teddy he is so cute don't you think?
I stamped the image with versamark, ink & clear EP to get the rased effect here, all the inks I used were Stampin' Up! I love layering them up to give depth. I have used some American Craft DP I have had for ages and stamped one side up to make it my very own with some Crafty Individual stamps I thought they went really well with the Yellow DP I hope you can see (you can always click on the photo to make them larger)
Here is a close up of the coloured image see I do colour my images in (sometimes lol) if you look below this post you will see I like to Paper Piece my images too, do feel free to have a nosey round my blog, I even have a scary Halloween Wreath for the front door (don't supose it will scare the kiddies =) it will let them know there are sweeties waiting lol. WOJ ch 52 & Basic Grey wk6

So I have managed to make a card yesterday and not only that it is for Two Challenges! Whiff of Joy This week is a sketch I really did like this sketch I have to say, also use a WOJ stamp Which I have paper pieced using Basic grey papers which brings me onto my second challenge. Basic Grey which is a colour combo of RED GREEN & BLUE very Christmassy I thought, so I decided not to make another Christmas card lol, I am not the best person to colour in these stamps I have a go but there are many out there far better than me.
I do enjoy Paper Piecing though, As I have said before if I could have some of these papers in material I would be making my own clothes lol. Here you can see a close up Of baby.
And here the circles which I used some Co-Ordination cardstock for as it has been a while since I sanded some paper lol As I said I really did like the sketch and I also got my Cuttle Bug out I have bought a couple of new folders of late the dog tooth this one and a new daisy one which I just had to have I was tempted to use it here but I think Flure de les (not sure what it is called) goes better with the papers in this case. Thank you for looking. Love Dawn xx

Items Used: Basic Grey DP (Porceline & Cupcake). Inks, Stampin' Up! Cardstock, Co'Ordination & Stampin' Up! Ribbon, Hobby Craft. Glitter Glue, Stikles. Metal Corners, American Craft. Stamps, both image & sentiment WOJ and finally Cuttlebug emboss folder.

It's been a while (some Christmas cards)

Hello Blog Land, Been away a while and thank you for your messages xx Not been feeling up to much crafting of late. (been poorly) There was a get together at my church last night and they were making cards (pre cut ready) and these are the three cards We all made (I was hoping for a little inspiration) or maybe give me some umph to make some thing.

I do love these flowers bought them Monday from Asda for a fiver they are stunning love them, here is a close up of the cards.

Tea bag folding. Not my thing, I have to say but nice look and no major stamping! So something different for me lol

This is tea bag folding too, only this time used to make a Christmas tree!

I don't know if I am back to crafting with avengenance as yet! but I thought it would be nice to put a post up for all my visitors, and this evening did give me a chance to get out of the house on my own and chat with other ladies at church, I do love crafting and I am almost always in the mood for it lol hope to get the time & the inclination to work my self back into a crafting lather very soon. Thank you for looking. Love Dawn xx

Slide

Well something different, I made a Moo card with 'something completely different' challenge blog a week or so ago and it got me thinking a wee bit. I thought I may try another one but frame it, I have some books from Crafty Individuals with faces and places and some look vintage and some have very bright backgrounds so I thought I would get some inks out I haven't used for a while and have a little play this is the result.
If you look I have used some UTEE (Ultra Thick Emboss Enamel) and stamped into it in several places, while still warm, then put some paint on and rubbed it off. The photo has fine EP on and then I put some chalk ink on the frame and stamped it a few times then put the UTEE (it's like emboss powder only thicker) on top (a few layers)
I haven't got a list of items for some reason but the photo, frame and stamps are all Crafty Individuals, inks are chalk ink from colour box. I hope you like this, I am hoping to do some more of these. Thank you for looking. Love Dawn xx

Halloween Wreath BTC&C ch 1

Scary or what? I got the idea from the lovely New Challenge blog By the Cute & Girly Katie had made the most beautiful Autumn Wreath (Stunning) any way I wanted one but I got diverted slightly lol well it is October! and I thought this would be ideal and still Autumnal, don't you think? so this will be my third entry lol and we have ages yet! as you get a whole month to make something and plenty of prizes. Although I have to say I really like the blogs philosophy of including all crafts, who knows I may even make some yummy Pumpkin Soup (no maybe I do it every year lol) along with Parkin (one of hubbys faves) and treacle toffee this list goes on .I love Autumn as the food starts warming up and so comforting lol dumpling stews & soups and lots and lots of cake lol.
When I started this blog off I wanted it to be a bringing together of all my fav past times like baking and scrapbooking etc I even wanted to start more sewing etc when I first started (if you look right back) I even put a room make over on my blog, as well as my first softie attempts.I was so pleased with the results and I thank By the Cute & Girly for reminding me what I really wanted to achieve on this blog. Now don't get me wrong, I love cardmaking it is a passion of mine but so is crafting in general for me. And I have felt a little bogged down. There will always be cards on here, I love the challenges. But now I promise to my self that I will enjoy crafting more as a whole as was my origional intention.
Looking at the close ups I have been to ASDA for all the scary stuff and quite cheep, could I find a wreath? No so I had to make do with I very old one I bought (many Christmases ago) and I never use, so I striped it and started a fresh with tinsel and lots of wire to thread all the toys on, I went to Hobby Craft ( I know sacralidge) but didn't find what I wanted so that's when the mind started to turn towards the HALLOWEEN THEME lots of cards around on the blogs, I don't send halloween cards and I have no young ones to have a party. Although I kind of make all the goodies and we have a family halloween based dinner, same at Bonfire night lol any excuse to eat and I am there lol. I also love when the kidies come round dressed up so I always have pumkins and sweet treats when they come to scare us, we also have scary music at the door when they arrive (not all American just yet) lol but like to see the kids faces lol
I hope you like this, I certainly had a lot of fun running round all over stockport for florist with wreaths (can you believe not one florest had a wreath not one) and garden centres with nothing I wanted so good 'ol Asda and some recyling was really good fun and a great way to spend an evening. Thank you for looking. Please do have a look round my blog you are missing lots of things I would love you to see, and please leave a comment I love to read them and pop round to your blogs. Love Dawn xx
