Autumn Canvass

It's another beautiful Autumnal day out side today, so I am going with it ;0) The The stamp man are on week 7 and each fortnight they have a challenge and they're having, Autumn. Cindy over at Whimsical Musings asked me to play along,  you can enter anything. I have to say I love her other blog I owe it all to him if you get time pop along.  Also Gingersnap Creations who are asking for nutrals and one colour my colour is red! The rest is pretty nutral. And finally but by no mean least is the wonderful Stamping Sisters in Christ are asking for us to think about the Lords creations. I think the seasons are a wonderful part of the creation.

Here is a close up. You really wouldn't believe the amount of layers on this. First I put some Texture Paste on the canvass (left over night to dry) then I got some acrylic paints out, you should be able to see the hills and sky (you can make photos larger if you want to have a look) then tissue paper and lots of it all stamped with DIs and glued on (I used PVA 1/2 and 1/2 with water) Then I die cut out my leaves with the new TH die. This is gong to be so versatile. I used the technique  from page 33 of Tim's book CCs,  with a large  piece of quality card stock then allowed to dry, then die cut. And a final little touch of flakes of foil. The acyclic paints, texture paste and foil are available at the Altered Element. Do pop along to all the DTs I have taken part with they have some stunning talent to show you. Love Dawn xx

P.S. if your wondering why my profile picture is supporting new spotty ears I am helping raise funds for Children in Need so please get some it's only £1 if we all Join in we can make a huge difference Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Stamps, Clear stamps (sorry no brand name on them) Paint, adirondack, Ranger. Texture paste, Golden. Tissue Paper, stash. Inks, Tim Holtz Distress Inks (DIs) Die Cut, Tim Holtz alterations. Guiliding flakes, Crafty Notions. Canvass, The Works.

My first Fabric Paper!

It's Monday, I hope you have had a lovely weekend too. Look how sunny it was yesterday (Sunday) when i took these photos. I made some fabric paper (FP) and it was so much fun! This is some cotton I got from a charity shop (you would usually use muslin) however cotton is fine I used a table cloth  but you can use an old blouse tea towel ( as long as it's a thin 100% cotton). I got some vintage sheet music riped it all up the covered in waterd PVA glue then added crumpled up tisue paper un-crumpled it then more PVA and let it dry.

Oh while the PVA was wet, I added some liquid acrylic (just a few drops) then brushed it all over,  on my 2nd piece I used a couple of colours of GM and brushed it together (you can use ink or paint wash) I wish I had more room I would of done more than two sheets, and I have already used it in a project! (see below). So if you like to get a wee bit messy and would like to try something new, why not make some FP.

What do you think? It's been a while since I made a card. I am going to use this for some challenges I think you can guess the 1st one ;0) this will be my 3rd entry (as long as each entry is different eg. card, ATC, LO etc you can enter as many times as you like) 10 cards would only be one entry though. Yep  it's for Sir Stampalot you know I want that prize. A darling Tim Holts goodie bag (fingers crossed) The theme is 'Blossoms & Butterfly's. Next it's SSIC I love the ladies here and the spirit they bring to each Sunday. Their theme is 'Music/singing' and there is lots of music notes and the birdy is singing.  Next Allsorts theme is 'Birthdays' And the final challenge is Sunday Stamper and the lovely Hel's theme is 'Red' and there is plenty of yummy red on this.

I went all Tim Holtz (TH) on this card. I have used the fabric paper to punch out some of TH flowers and the birdy I have edged the flowers in red DI

I also die cut the bird cage, it's metal, I have used alcohol inks to put colour and texture on the cage,  (I love the effect) And you can see my bird better here made from the FP too!

I didn't want to put happy B'day on the front but I think this would make a lovely B'day card. the ticket is another TH die cut coloured with DI and a beautiful butterfly stamp embossed (so it is raised) to add yet more texture. This idea came to me in a flash when I thought about the birdcage and I love this card. I hope you do to. Thank you to all my visitors for your kind words and encouragement. I have been stopping by quite a lot of new blogs as well as my usual ones and I am never disappointed but always blown away by your talent so your comments mean so much to me. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- there's a few lol. Stamps, Crafty Individuals and  Stampin' Up! Alcohol inks, Ranger. Perlescent liquid acrylic paints, Daler & Rowney.  Papers (DP) K&Co. Mini Letters & Brad, Making Memories. Distress inks (DI) & Die cuts (alterations) Tim Holtz. Material, tissue, jump rings, vintage sheet music & beads from my stash.

Maternity Card

Hello, gosh there are some busy blogs I have looked at so many I have hardly had time to craft, I am so glad I follow you though, your all very inspiring and I love to look at your work. I have made a card for a friend at church who is pregnant with what will be her seventh child! (I know a lot of children) however, she is a fantastic mother and she has the most beautiful children, and she looks just too fantastic it's so not fair! She doesn't come on here so she will not see this card until I give it to her. I thought I may as well enter it for a few chalenges too. SSIC challenge is clean & simple, as there are no embellies etc I thought I had kept it pretty clean & simple although it was anything but simple to make lol. Sketch Saturday it as usual a fabby sketch. Lots to do (LTD) another new challenge, their theme is Spring I think this card is very Spring new baby's and all the flowers on the swing And Just Us Girls (JUG) a new challenge to me, is a colour combo of brown, green, yellow & blue. as always there are some great DT examples for inspiration so do have a look round these challenges.

Now as I said this was not a simple card to make, and this is not my first attempt lol. I used three stamps to make this image and I had to mask all the images to ink the back ground too! as WOJ are not clear it can be kinda difficult to line the swing up some times and when you get all the lining up right you have to be very cearful when masking cutting round each and every leaf so I could get the back ground just right. Saying that I am very happy with the out come and I am sure Clair will love this card. I thank you to every one for their lovely comments and constant support, and a wonderful welcome to my new followers I have been round to all your blogs and you are a teriffic bunch and very talented and a couple are so new to blog land. I am happy that you have decided to follow me, and as I have said on your blogs the people I have come across are wonderful and always happy to help if you need any. Enjoy whats left of the day. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Stamps WOJ, Card stock, inks & DP Stampin'Up! (SU) coloured with copics, SU punch & Nestiabilites die cut.

2nd Post of the day & some more Challenges

Hello for the seccond time today, I have been doing lots of stuff maybe I should put less on the blog, but I do love to show you my efforts. Still Loving Paris! I have made this post card.So much work in this, and what fun it was to make. (got very messy) Some card stock used lots of DI and then stamped the Effel Tower then gessoed a script stamp. A photo by CI and altered it, same with the chip board, added it all together so this is entilted 'From Paris with Love' very yummy I do hope I get there this year (sighs!)

This chip board was sanded to an inch of it's life ;0) then crackle paint and emboss powder sprinkled on in places. You can see the texture here and I love how this turned out.

There is a very fine glitter all over this piece and consiquently it was all over me, the dog, cat and various other members of the family lol

On to a challenge, Gothic Arches the theme 'wild & wacky' well a guy with no body singing in a 'Gilded Cage' (this is the name I given this piece) notice the bird is free! well if that isn't wacky or wild I don't know what is lol. This is also being entered for The Three Muses which this week is 'Incognito' I do hope you like it.

This is white card stock, DI and then photo cut out and added, then gold EP and stamped carefully to make sure it looks like the man is safely inside! Then some more stamps in DI round the edges! I had real trouble thinking of something I can tell you!

Next is another challenge for Stampin' Sisters In Christ they are looking for peaceful this week. I think this brings peace, the colours and birds. I just fell in love with this card when it was finished! I think the papers are wonderful K&Co I have used them loads before (you get so many in a pad!) the stamps are indivually stamped with versafine and DI then Clear EP & heated. I have distressed all the edges.

You can see a few of the levels here and the texture I hope. Also the cute little butterflys all glittered.

Thought I would include a close up of the hand made flower, done with a circle scallop punch in the chosen paper then lots of stickles added and the punched leaves. I am sure you all know by now how to make these yummy flowers I have done a tutorial, July last year! you can find it Here If you want to have a look. I have just used three punched scallops instead on one!  then stuck them together, and of course a quick peak inside.

And finally a crafty delivery! going to be some Alice stamped creations floating around! I will be posting some candy for my blogaversary L8TA to day so stop by if you can so much going on in one day can you stand it? lol leave a comment. I would like to thank Pam for her challenge over on SSIC I have been really moved by her comments on her own blog (hence the link) I have followed her for a while as she does the most amazing LOs But her challenge this week really moved me, to find out more pop to one of the links above. The challenge  on SSIC is to worship the lord in a project of any kind just create something to thank the Lord for your God given talent. And I have to say I am pleased with this LO I have been trying to get a bit of a wow factor and I think it's getting there lol. This is also for Kraftin Kimmy which is this week to use buttons & bows. I love the way I have used the KK image this week, they are that good you can use them bare with a little imagination! not forgetting a wee bit of help form the Lord ;0)

Look isn't she cute with her little bow? Actually it was the packaging of the KK that gave me my colour sceme, lilac is a fabby colour isn't it. There is another bow in the corner, I love the vellum with all the wonderful words on virtue, purity, strength, Faith, humility etc I had a few sheets and this is my last it's by rusty pickle and I haven't seen any since but it's lovely, they do other religious papers too I have seen them in Amereica but postage to UK is not worth it if you see or know of any of this range in UK tip me the wink ;-).

I have had these papers from Kanban for ever! (flower ones) and they are very good quality and versitile goodness knows how they have lasted this long and still lots left! aren't these buttons cute?

Up up and away in my beautiful balloon

I thought I would make a male card for this stamp, I really love it but I have no idea what manufacturer it's from, as I bought it off e-bay for a £1 so if you know the brand do let me know. I have decided to enter this for SSIC & Tuesday Taggers, there challenge this week is the theme 'TIME' so many options. I have a clock stamp, and clock charms too, but I thought this fit really well. I don't think there is a prize on offer for TT but do stop by and have a look at the DT if nothing else ,as they are super! I am happy with the out come as I don't often do male cards and I do find them a little difficult.

Here is a close up of the image, I have paper pieced the balloon wioth DPs but i had a lot of playing with more new DI for the back ground, if you look carefully I even coloured the people in the balloon with copics. Thank you for looking and keep your comments comming I really love reading them and appreciate the time you spend here. Love Dawn xx
