Christmas card

How cute is this stamp? love her, she is called Gretel and she is from Swiss Pixes I managed to finish one of my (not chosen for the SS) cards I started. I was having trouble with the image then this arrived from Nikki of Zoe's Bunny's so quick again! and she is just the cutest thing I thought I could fit this nicely on the front of this card.
Practicing my colouring again I wish I was better at it, I see other crafters like Sem and they are so good at the colouring of their images but if I don't practice I will never learn lol
You can see the stickles glitter better here and I know it is expensive but it is such better quality than others I have tried. on the inside of the card I used a paper mania stamp and the glitz glitter glue not as good at the stickles but much cheaper and this was the perfect match with the front cover colours DP I used.
I may not be around a lot this week, I am picking up Grandson James today and he will be with us 'till Friday (I never get much crafting or anything much done when he is here;-) I will miss you all and the crafting but I do try to have him as much as I can. It's really important to me, so I hope you understand. I may not have the time to post but I will still have a time for a few visits and leave some comments for you. Thank you for looking. Love Dawn xx

Matthew my baby's 16th BD card

Isn't he yummy he is over 6ft and head boy (I may have mentioned this before lol) I am so proud of him so we are taking him shopping tomorrow, boys always need clothes so think we will be in top man for an hour or so (he is worse than a woman lol) picking what we will be paying for lol. I know he will really appreciate this shopping spree, he is also letting me know just how expensive prom night will be this year! about £200 for a suit and about £80 for shoes, I suppose at times like these I am glad I had three boys! A friend of mine last year spent more than this on a dress alone! so I am getting off lightly so I am told, mmm I will have to spend less on stash from January, the sacrifices we make for our children.
Well It's my baby boy's birthday on Monday he will be sweet sixteen, and this is his card. He was on some work experience recently with the army for a whole week away from home he loved it! (as did me and hubby and the fridge was especially pleased lol) he has wanted to be an engineer for years (loves cars) his second weeks work exp. was in a garage with lots of cars like Ferrari, Mustang etc. he was truly in his element, so he has decided to let the army pay for his uni degree and earn a wage at the same time lol so he hoping to got off to Wellbeck next year. I wish I had that many plans when I was his age lol I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up! lol
So for this card I thought about music which is SO important to any teenager and his new found love for the army! and combined them to make this card. I love stamping as you may have guessed from my cards lol so I stamped the guitar with versamark and clear emboss powder on to black card stock sprayed with Glimmer Mists (GM) I also sprayed the grunge board with GMs too so they come together. I have drawn the camouflage my self.
My hubby used to get some rock magazines and there was some free plectrums on the front so they went into my stash! lol I sponged round the edges to soften the edges.
Like this close up as you can see quite a bit of detail. Thank you so much for looking and all you good wishes for my entry in SS DT competition if you haven't seen my entry it's below this post have a nosey let me know what you think. Thanx for looking as always. Love Dawn xx
I suppose we have to get on to Items Used: Tim Holtz grunge board, Buttons crafty time, DP Bo Bunny, Card Stock Bazzil & Stampin' Up!(SU) Stamped image papermainia, stamp inside sentiment Inca Inks SU Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, Plectrum FREE, Emboss Powder (clear) versamark, thread from sewing box.

Sketch Saturday Pt. 2 DT call

Well Finally, I have a post to put up, this card or rather the process in choosing sketch and getting this done has taken days, oh the pressure lol. This is my entry in the second part of the Sketch Saturday DT Call. I was looking ages for a sketch, then guess what? I found one posted on my Birthday July 11th sketch 59. I don't think I have done this sketch before so I though mmm this is telling me something (yes your eldest has given you a grand child and your piggin old lol). I thought yep! that's the sketch for me, so there was that process done, lol.

I attempted three cards in the end the first two were just not good enough for this competition so left them to one side, I have to say I had my problems, talk about nerves lol keep thinking to my self ("I am through arn't I? I didn't dream it did I?). I just hope it is good enough. You will never guess I was looking around blog land and sem posted her entry I couldn't believe we have picked the same sketch, I had already started and I have another card to do this weekend so I though I am not starting again lol not after two that didn't make the grade. My son (baby boy) will be Sixteen on Monday, gosh I am getting OLD lol. So I have a male card to make too, I always struggle with these, mainly because I don't buy male stuff to make cards with lol, I will put this up tomorrow (later today my how time flys) but had to get this up so excuse the photography as I have had to take the pics with out natural day light.

Here is another couple of close up's of my hand made butterfly with wire & beads and everything lol. So fiddly. I wanted to use the ribbon with butterfly's in and I thought it would be a nice additional theme with the flowers, that and I got a new Marther Stewart punch I just had to use =) I put three of the small butterflys in the bottom left hand corner with the tinyest little heart gems in so pretty. This is a beautiful Stamp set, don't you think? This will be in the NEW Stampin' Up! (SU) catalogue in October as a Hostess level 2 gift if you would like any more information of how to get this stamp or others for free have a look at my top post or you can e-mail me craftydawn@googlemail.com

You get four stamps in this set, it's simply beautiful I love it. I have used one as a back ground stamp on the front card stock some in versamark and some with versamark, ink & clear emboss powder so you can see it and get added texture. Not a great photo as I said. I have also put faux stitching around every piece.
I though I would do the inside too, I do like to put something inside so it's not too plain. Not that matters for DT as you only show the out side. I have used the same image on the inside as you can see however, I have just used versamark & clear EP again. I've carried the ribbon on to the inside and I have also used the same back ground stamp with versamark and clear EP again so it's rasied and gives a texture to the inside as well. I hope you like this as much as I enjoyed making it, thanx for looking. Love Dawn xx

Well enough natter Items Used:- Stampin' Up! DP, inks, brad, stamp sets main image Whimsical Wings (hostess level 2 gift new catty) Sentiment stamp set Fresh Cuts. Clear EP, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Papermainia gems, flowers prinma, charm, ribbon, beads & wire from stash.

Thank you

This is just a really Quick post, I am going to put something up later (fingers crossed) I just have to say that life has gotten the better of me lately and I haven't been able to craft much. However, there are some thank you's I just have to say:-
  • I got into the final 12 for Sketch Saturday DT how surprised am I? I can honestly say I don't believe it lol and I can sure feel the pressure of trying to get through to the final, as there is such marvelous competition good luck to every one.
  • Second thank you to Nikki of Bunny Zoes Crafts She has a super craft shop and best of all she is super too, talk about quick delivery and personal service I am only recomending her as she deserves it really so if you like fabby craft goodies papers punches, spacers, charms as well as stamps and great service giver her a try.
  • That brings me to my last thank you. Another web based shop. I want to say a big thank you to Malcolm of Crafty Individuals This is a super web site and completely different from Nikkis so no competition here. Malcolm is a star another super quick delivery he may not talk much but the guy is so generous I have sent two orders and recieve lots of FREEBIES I have to say I am trying (but not very successfully) to get into altering things and doing vintage this is the place, so much fabby stuff I urge you again to go have a look, this is a super place to buy unmounted rubber stamps, Die cuts really go see for your self you will be glad you did.
I have to say I have nothing to do with any of the places I have recomended, I am just a crafter who shops alot (oops lol) and these two places have stuck out to me as they have both gone above and beyond the call of duty. I think us Brits are used to such poor service in many places, so it's nice to say these two are FANTASTIC! places with top personal service and high quality products. I hope people think this much of me as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator as I do try very hard to give a wonderful personal service. OK I guess I had better go and start this PT.2 of the Sketch Saturday competition. I have plenty of goodies lol. Thank you for looking. Love Dawn xx

SSIC ch 4

Hello again, I am super busy at the moment trying to sort some Stampin' Up! (SU) goodies out, I love SU it's such fun to be a demonstrator and I love the goodies as they are such good quality. My grandson James is with us again until Sunday. We have been out for the day which is why this is late being posted. I took him to a garden centre, why? you might ask but there is so much to do, there is also a craft shop lol and a real train for James to ride on so we were both happy. He is snoozing bless him so thought I would get this posted before he wakes. It is lovely having him but isn't your time limited? I don't know how some of these crafters with small children keep up to date blogs. Hat's off to you wonderful mum's (and crafters).I found this sight on it's first week and I have been very remiss as I have only done their challenge that once. So here is this lovely card to rectify that. Stampin Sisters In Christ.

SSIC ch 4 for short. Is a lovely challenge sight with a wonderful religious theme not that you have to follow that. This weeks scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I find this very comforting, so no matter how hard things get like any father who truly wants the best for his children he has a plan for you, every one one of us, and when we are ready to to follow him we will see this plan for our self. They are using a wonderful sketch, this week, go have a look at the design team for inspiration you will not be disappointed. They are also holding a DT call if your interested so there is plenty to see, there is also a lovely prize for the winner so do stop by if you can.
I have been using more of that lovey new stash I showed you a few days ago and I am loving these papers & flowers I have used some SU ink to colour them up to match better with the papers and I also used buttons ink and a brad, all match perfectly as they are from SU too! I loved the sketch used and I really enjoyed putting this together. Thank you for looking. Love Dawn xx

Items Used: SU inks fibers and ribbon. SU card stock very vanilia, Bravo burgandy. Papermainia gems. DP My minds eye. Stamp Laura Ashley. Prima flowers. Tools nestabilites.
