SCD Tags & Colour combo

Hello hello ;0) how are you all, I have missed ya all loads.  I have been taking some time with my boys and hubby and it's been so much fun. However, I'm back and loving it. Craft craft and more craft are on the agenda however, some I can not show you but I hope my mojo will be flowing so I can play lots! Over on SCD It's the last Tag of July and this week it's a Colour combo. Blue Orange and Brown. This is not a combo I would put together normally  but you should see the rest of the DT and see what they have done too. Here is my small effort. I can't wait to see all your wonderful tags and next week is a NEW challenge for the Month of August can you believe it? and I am so excited about it so pop by and come and play now won't you.

I can not remember where this image came from at all (let me know if you do, then I can give credit) I have used some DI and coloured the image. I was thinking how these are featured as UNDER GARMENTS and now you see pop stars etc performing in them. It also got me thinking about pain for fashion lol how we have all done this at some time I am sure SHOES are my big pain bearer well they were not any more I am all for comfort! I am so showing my age lol.

And a nice arty shot so you can see the layers. I think it's all self explanatory how it's been made, I do hope you will join in with us this week. Love Dawn xx

Beach post card.

I hope you are all well I had to post this as I really enjoyed making it so very much and I am really very pleased with how it turned out. I have noticed that it goes perfectly with The three muses who this week are asking for Mail Art. This is a post card.  The image came from Suzee Cue's what a find she is. Any way I have played with it until it looked suitable old enough.

Christmas is no where to be seen and I have been playing with glitter! I really liked how this set off the sea and her dress. I also added some of Tim Holts Tape this is super stuff!

Finally the back, Genuine vintage postage stamp and more stamps to make it look old and from Paris hope you like this quick make I was very pleased with the finished artical. Love Dawn xx

Tea cup Tuesday 21

It's the 21st TCT over at Marther's and Terri's I always have such fun reading wonderful stories as well as having some wonderful china to look at too! so I hope you will join them this week. I have been so busy with life I haven't had much time at all to craft and I was hoping to go away today camping but alas the weather is not playing ball and I am not in the best of health this week for lying in a tent in damp weather ;0).

Here are the markings on the bottom. I have to say that I really liked these from the moment I saw them. I have 6 x C&S and they're really nice not very large cups but very genteel ;0) and the colour goes with anything, the gold gilt isn't worn in the least and I love the handle to hold (slightly worn where the thumb goes;0) I do hope you like this little share this week and I hope to pop round and have a look at your beautiful TC&S later. Love Dawn xx

SCD Tags & Circles

How much fun was last week? I saw some great entries. Now over at SCD  each month we have a theme like 'inchies' or 'moo cards' last month we did 'skinnies' but for all of July we are doing 'TAGS' then each week a member of the DT picks a theme and Gez chose 'Fantasy' last week, and wow did it set your imagination  on fire! I saw so many fantastic tags. I hope you can join in this week as Carol has chosen the theme of 'Circles' Now I know you can go daft with this one from dotty paper or something with actual Circles like wheels the only limit is your imagination.

Here's my close up. This is a stamp by Elizabeth Bell. I love this as it can be used for lots of kinds of sentiments. I do like versatility lol. I used some stuff on this I can tell you lol Loving the cute girly theme I seem to be going through lol. Will have to alter some things soon. I have been getting loads of stuff to alter, but that's another story lol. I stamped and coloured the image with copics and then I cut her out using the good ol' nesties. Then aged with some TH distress inks. The back ground paper is scraps so don't know which brand it is (sorry) some spotty chip board and some plain chip  and more scap DP added with some sparkles. A felt flower and a TH Ticket  and that's about it! There aren't many rules with the SCD challenges but do go over and check them out along with the DT examples they are all super craft savy lol Thank you for all the lovely comments and hello to the new followers so nice of you to join the crafty journey. Love Dawn xx

Compedium of Curiosites week 6

Hello, I am linking this to the Challenge at  Linda's  it's week 6 Linda's challenge each Monday is always from the book, Compendium of Curiosity's by Tim Holtz And this weeks CCC it's on page 66 so if you would like to follow us please have a go.

I decided to use some vintage sheet music, I added a little DI and then some PP so as to give the gilded cage look! and all this is on some lovely grunge paper. I can't help but love the smell of this ha ha. I have also used some of Tim's new DP as a back ground isn't it lush? I have been popping to his blog to see all the sneak peeks for CHA and we in UK are going to have to wait at least 12 weeks (well usually this is the case) until these goodies filter through to some UK suppliers. So many lovely new things on my list and that's just Tim's what about every one else at CHA? I need an unlimited credit card that  never have to pay back ROFL. I notice a few new followers out there, Hi ya your so welcome to stop by any time and of course comment ;0) Don't forget to pop by tomorrow  I have another post, did you know I am on  DT  at  SCD lol and it will be my 3rd week tomorrow so I do hope you stop by and join in. Tea Cup Tuesday

It's another  tea cup Tuesday TCT over with Martha and Terry these ladies each week invite us all to show our cups, china etc. However, this week I thought  I would show these beautiful coffee cups I bought. Made of pottery/porcelain I'm not at all sure. I would really like your help though as I bought them in Scarborough at a charity stall and I know there is a castle there and also one in Whitby not far a way, any way these were  a mere £2 for 6 coffee cups and darling saucers too! I loved them I immediately and I really like the way the saucers kind of hug the dainty CCs, I also thought I could make some Christmas gifts from them (see further down) my question is, do any of you know where these coffee cups are from? the initials are CC on the front.

Here is a close up of the front and this is the marking they have on the bottom of each cup & saucer does any one recognise them? They are in perfect condition not at all worn and still in the original box (although only the B mark on the box not where they are from)

Any way hope you can help out with finding out where this lovely set came from. Now I said I wanted to make some gifts out of them didn't I? To be honest I don't know if  want to part with them ;0) However, just in case I do I made one gift to see what it looked like.

Here it is! I have used my melt pot to melt some old Christmas candles that have glitter in and smell of cinnamon and other Christmas spices, as I have six I thought I would try one out, I will of course also make a gift box for it and perhaps put some Christmas tinsel in with it. I try not to  mention Christmas on my blog until November but this is getting more difficult, if I am going to make these  do have to think a head lol. So please do go and visit all the other tea cups and if you do happen to know where this lovely set is from I would be ever so grateful if you left me a message. Love Dawn xx

WOJ GDT Tag

Hi, hope you have all had a wonderful week end. It was SO wet here but today it's muggy and warm again lol. I saw a post over at Katherina's blog they are making requests for FT and Guest Designers. So i thought I would apply for a GDT position. There are always 100s of applications but I would love two Months with WOJ. I have always loved their stamps and it's nice to use one for this tag. So wish me luck (although I won't hold my breath) lol as there is always very tight competition for these places. So I will also enter this for GSC Marker challenge, as they would like us to use markers in some way and I have used copics to colur my image.

I do have quite a few WOJ stamps but as the theme is 'Summer' I went for some oldies although the brides on swings would look super too! I wanted to make a tag and  think this fits lovely with a Summer theme.

Here is my close up. Isn't she gorgeous? I have coloured her with copic markers and given it a vintage feel by using DI round the edges of the tag and the Nesti scallop die cut. She rests on this die cut with sticky cushions to help lift her up. I have added this charm. I have added some vintage trim and some flowers to the corner of the tag. The blue flower is a chip board piece sanded and coloured with ink then dipped in glass glitter. I hope you like this tag. I really enjoyed going all girly and feminine ;0) Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Stamps WOJ. Design Papers (DPs) My Minds Eye. Charm, stash. Colored with Copics. Tim Holts Distress inks (DI) Jumbo eyelet Stampin Up (SU) Flowers, Hobby Craft & Orchard crafts. Glass Glitter Altered Element. Vintage trim stash.

So here is my obligatory close up ;0) Do you like the wings on the fairy & dragonfly? This stuff is fantastic for this purpose alone it's fusible film called 'aqua sparkle' it is wonderful for wings. I Have used a faux silk effect as a base with a napkin then used two new stamps to create this little vision of fantasy. the little fairy stamp is coloured with Copics.  And as I have used my Copic Markers And there is also a fairy in this, I thought I would also enter this for  two GSC (please click link for more info)I do hope you will join in with us at Something Completely Different (SCD) this week. Shabby Chic and news of Dude

Hi ya. Oh my, we had a great thunderstorm last night! and the rain has only just stopped (well about half an hour ago) and the sun is shining brightly. Don't you just love the English weather? I love a good thunderstorm. Looky here I made a card. I don 't feel as though I have made a card in simply ages. I hope you like it. I am going to enter this in to Linda's Monday Tim Holtz challenge click my side bar for more info or click on Linda's name.

Now as you know I love a close up ;0) so here you can see the sun streaming through so  got great picks today. Thought I was going to have to use my flash but no! So, how did I make this card? I have used Tim's Die Cuts on my Cuttle bug to cut out some copper metal shapes, but for more info of how to get the yummy texture look on pg 43 of Tim's Compendium of Curiosities. The rest I think is self explanatory some vintage music sheets aged up even more, a pretty wooden dove covered in fabric, some lovely DP distressed with ink, and a beautiful vintage button to finish this card off in the centre of some delish aged ribbon. Hope you like it, oh and another follower has joined our merry band welcome, you have made me smile today.

And as I am a super proud mummy to Dude I thought I would take some photos and share them with you, he is now in the side bar too! (if you click his photo on the side bar you will be taken to a list of shelters in tameside where animals need our help, there will be a local animal shelter near you  to)

He has been with us just over a week now and well and truly made him self at home. Now hubby was never a big cat lover. I mean he would never harm one but much preferred dogs, I am sure you know what I meen.  Dude has warmed him up so much lol he is almost dog like in some ways, he sits at your feet when your cooking in the kitchen (like Dita used too) almost as if he's waiting for scraps, but never takes any thing. And when we sit in the front room to watch some TV, he walks in and then just flops down on his side just like a dog would. Hubby, also gets to play with him. Dude loves him too. But some times, just sometimes. I get the most loving cuddles as he jumps up, sits on my lap and he rubs his face against my cheek. Hunny is a little older (6yrs) and will curl up all adorable like and snooze bless her, but is coming round to playing more and seeking attention. I wonder why? lol so just a quick up date on the big fella for you. Love Dawn xx

A special gift.

Hello my fellow arty crafty peeps. The weather is on the change, not sure I like it. I haven't made much of late, so I thought I would share this beautiful piece of art I received in a swap a few weeks ago. I can't believe I forgot to post it. Oh my head is in bits with this and that. Dude is settling in really well and I love him so much, the best birthday gift! I went to see 'Eclipse' Pt 3 in the 'Twilight Saga' And this is such a cool film although not as good as the book and they have changed the director, but asn excellent effort, this was my respite yesterday evening after having James for a full week end (Fri-Mon) he is oh so tiring so I am resting a wee bit having just finished my DT tag for SCD I hope you stop by to have a look on Friday.

Any way onto some craftiness. I am a lucky lady to have a friend to swap with who can make things like this her name is Lynne and if you haven't been to her blog already then click her name and be transported to crafty distress heaven. She like me loves distressing and Paris we did a swap a while ago. I can not believe I haven't shown this sooner, maybe I wanted to keep this to myself subconsciously but this is art to share. I made a Shoe with some little gifts in it and I got this wonderful wall plaque in return.

I also received all these wonderful trims and material and all beautifully packaged. I felt so special I can tell you, opening this wonderful gift. So a huge thank you to my craft buddy Lynne who made this for me and I hope you pop round and see her she has a fab TT on distressing, You all come back now though, ya hear? ;0) Love Dawn xx

The secret is out! I am a DT member for SCD YAY!!!

You can not imagine how happy I was to be asked to join this talented bunch of ladies to play. And you can't believe how hard it was not to tell any one. I read the e-mail at least three times to make sure they were asking me to be on the team. As I have been a GDT member a few times before (and loved it)I thought how nice it would be for this to be my first full time DT roll as I have been playing and being inspired to do new things (inchies twinchies etc) with these ladies for ages and now I am one of them, little ol' me YAY! So I have been playing with all sorts to make my 1st appearance a good one (I hope). Now for July it's tags and every week a different theme so do join in if you can xx.

So Laura's theme over at SCD for this week is 'Are you sitting comfortably?' I can tell you I was a wee bit scared, my first go and I thought what on earth am I going to do? I kept thinking of the iconic saying, I'm sure it's watch with mother, and I also kept thinking of story time, so I made a very comfy if not very extravagant chair  ha ha for some one to read a beautiful story to me. I do hope you like it. Please be sure to visit the SCD challenge site for ideas from all the other wonderful Design Team I am sure you will find plenty to inspire you. I do hope you can join in and play with tags with us this month as I would love to pop round and see what you have come up with.

OK, how did I create it? well, first I used lots of blue alcohol inks on some glossy CS then stamped this beautiful chair on  it and cut it out. Then with some scraps of fleecy material I cut to size then stamped it with some stazon to make my nice comfy chair. I then got some Co'Ordinations CS sanded it a little and added some delicate, almost luminous lace and some beautiful blue lace for the actual holder/attach bit. A TH ticket inked up with some DIs and finally a clock face so you have the tile 'STORY TIME' clever eh?  I hope you like my very first appearance at Something Completely Different I am really quite nervous. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Stamps, Oxford Impressions. Alcohol Inks, Distress Inks, Ranger. Ticket, Tim Holtz (TH) Card Stock (CS) Co'Ordinations and  Ranger glossy. Lace my stash. Clock face, Craft time.

THE DUDE

This is my Fabby birthday pressy for Sunday (an early one ha ha) I have always wanted a chunky cat that would sit on my knee and be stroked. Let me introduce you to THE DUDE he is 3yrs old from a rescue centre and had the name 'Sky' but we all thought that was a bit girly for him. He is so cool and relaxed he suits his name beautifully (from the film 'The Big Labowski') Dude and Hunny are already getting on well and with time I think will be best friends. There was also a mother kitten abandoned in a black bag with 6 kittens over a man's  back garden. The kittens are only 10 days old and mum and kittens are doing well. We will be going back in 6wks to rescue a kitten too. There were so many cats with such sad story's, I could have brought more home but Dude will get chance to settle in with Hunny and us ;0) and I don't think the kitten will be any bother with the other cats when he/she comes to stay.

I put Dude up on the work top, so I could get a close up of his beautiful face for you all. Dude by no means replaces my beloved Dita, I just couldn't have another dog with Hunny unless it was a puppy and so I suppose to help me heal as well it's so nice to have The Dude and Hunny now and soon a new kitten to keep me occupied. Cats are also very therapeutic and help me with my illnesses. I am sorry there is no craft today and I hope to have something to share with you tomorrow. Love Dawn xx

WOYWW 57

Afternoon every one, Thank you for all your concern over my fall, as I said though, I am just brused and sore ;0) honest I am a dosey mare! And you are all so sweet.  Looks like blogger had problems and you couldn't see my photos. Well all is back now so if you would like to pop to yesterdays post be my guest ;0) Now for this weeks desk. For more details pop along to my side bar just click the WOYWW symbol  to go to Julias blog.

Now bottom left are some fridge magnets that need some Araldite glue. I try to get a magnet from every where I go or a friend will bring me back one from there trip/hols I would love a Paris one, my son went and said he couldn't find one? There is also a new cat cup (the cup isn't new just it's position on my craft table ha ha) I have decided to keep all my paint brushes and pallet knives in. Then some beautiful serviettes from York and I have just finished my first padded hanger, I used Cath Kidson material and I love her stuff.

Here is a better photo of my hanger.  (please don't look at the weeds I just haven't been able to get out and do them) This is the first  time I have made one and I'm not that thrilled with it, although I followed the pattern I think I will alter the next one. I'd like to round the corners more and put much more padding on as well.

One last photo (the close up ;0) isn't this material wonderful? I bought some more to and thankfully I got there and there was a sale, yay instead of £18 a meter only £14 very pleased,  as her things are expensive but I love them any way. There is a running stich on the top and then it's tied off. I think I would also like to alter this too. That's the wonderful thing isn't it, if you have a basic pattern you can always add your own twist on things can't you? I was also treated to a few Birthday gifts in York lask week, which have been put away. With my memory though, I have already forgot what he bought me so it will be a surprise (I will be 41 in Sunday) past middle age now, lol ROFL And my DARLING HUSBAND  has just bought me the BEST GIFT! And I will tell you more about this most exciting gift tomorrow,  ha ha love to keep you in suspense, thank you for stopping by. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Normal hanger, Old T-Shirt for padding. Cath Kison material. and Stampin' Up! Ribbon.

Tea cup Tuesday

Morning, I hope to find you all well. I wish I could say the same for my self as I have had a fall down the last four or five stairs, thankfully nothing broken but I am a wee bit bruised and a little worse for wear so it's taking a while to get back into the crafting ;0) But I am fine  and I hope to make some more posts very soon, oh and tell you my little secret later this week (shhh)

Last week, Hubby and I went to York and look what I found, Some delicious hand made macaroons from Betty's tea shop and this darling Tea cup, saucer and side plate. All hand painted and I am told early Victorian (no idea on dates or who made it as it's blank on the bottom apart from the side plate has the number 130 on it. Now I thought I wouldn't be able to play this week as I had no TC&S left to show you. However, this wasn't my only find and as this beautiful little set only cost £6 I felt I could buy some other goodies so pop back next week for more :-) Now I am off to have a macaroon. I can't believe I managed to keep from eating them all the way home , well I had to photograph! these now didn't I?

Now, you can all join in as well if you like or you can just go and see some beautiful china over at Tea Cup Tuesday Terry and friends have the most beautiful blogs, there is also a link in my side bar so I do hope you can stop by a few others and I look forward to next week TCT. Love Dawn xx
