Using Shrink Plastic!

Now I wanted to do this ages ago but never got round to it, and now I am having a root round my crafty stash looking for give a ways look what I find, Yep Shrink Plastic! so I thought I would use some for this card.You have got to love these stamps haven't you? I was looking for something to use the shrink plastic on so I thought of the theme (woodland) and instead of all autumn colours, went for springy colours, well certainly bright lol. The tricky thing with shrink plastic is when your doing it you think you have done something really wrong! because it just shrivels up into such a mess, but fear not keep applying the heat and it will flatten it's self out. So these stamps are done with black stazon and as they are solid there is no colour to them but you can colour your stamped images.Let's start from the beginning, pick a stamp and the plastic you are going to stamp on! I used clear but I got some pink blue & frosty too! (it comes in lots of colours so knock your self out!) So stamp your image and colour it in. Then use a punch if you like or cut round the image. Heat up the heat gun and hold the plastic down with a lolly pop stick (whatever is to hand lol) then as you apply the heat it starts to ravel in on it's self (don't panic!) keep the heat on and watch it flatten out. Now at this point you can mold it (like if your using it for jewelry) or put something on it to flatten it (careful it is hot!) and that's it dead easy! I hung a couple of bunnies and stuck an owl in the centre of a layered circles and then Stamped some at full size for the main image. What do you think?

Sugar Bowl ch12

Hi and what A beautiful day we have here in the NW of England so much so after this post we (ma & darling Hubby) are off to Bake well for the day! one of my very favorite places to go not too long a drive and lovely markets and shops not to mention the river and greens (best fish & chips) I know not even near the sea! but they are FAB! also the lovely Tea rooms and adorable shops lots of shops! he he. So will have to hurry! as hubby is in shower and I have yet to get in there lol, here goes.

I Love the Sugar Bowl sketches. You never know one day I may WIN. This week we had to follow a colour theme of blue and green. Now I did two images as I didn't know which one would look best, in the end I couldn't pick between the two! so I have uploaded both although I am sure it will only count as one entry (would be good if you could do more than one wouldn't it? lolI have used All SU products for these cards, apart from the stamped image which is SN and a few extras from stash! I am sorry I can't give my SN up! I love to colour them in, and with the FAB SU inks (I am always raving about SU inks so I won't do it again) It is easy to colour such lovely images.

Items Used: Sugar Nellie, Poise & Purrfect Playmates. Papers SU summer picnic, card stock Bashful Blue, Whisper white & Old Olive. SU stamp Whimsy (for the Jumbo Stampin Around Handle) very easy to use and as you can see here om the white card stock making a love patterned paper! SU Ribbon Gross grain 1/4 inch Whisper white Died using bashful blue ink. Inks used: Bashful blue Old Olive, Certain Celery, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie & Pretty in Pink! The Flowers are Making Memories the Bling is prima (some large swirls cut down here) & brad is also Making Memories. A couple more cards I made this morning!

Hi again, what am I like I haven't posted consistently last week (was poorly and then had Grand son) so probably feeling very guilty and now how many in a week? lol well the weather has gone a little cooler today but it is still nice out, weather man is predicting rain in the next day or to (shame I so love the warmth of the sun)

I must just say that my prayers go out to all the family's & people concerned to the AIR FRANCE flight, how dreadful. Love and prayers to you all.

Another Sugar Nellie image. I do like this one It's called Time flies and the other one too! you can get this and all other SN stamps at Funky Kits the other one I used was called Poise that's further down the blog, they are lovely, I can't help it! see I don't only use Stampin' UP! products (just nearly every where lol. Items Used for this card are: SU card stock Whisper White, Pretty in Pink & Bashful Blue SU design paper Junior Varsity SU stamp set 'Fresh Cuts' SU inks Pretty in pink, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive & Certain Celery. SU Ribbon Whisper White 1/4 inch. I also Used SU punches Large oval & Scallop oval.

This is a lovely stamp it was given to me by a lovely friend in Sweden Helene (hi Hunny) It's a Magnolia (the only one I have!) she is very pretty though don't you think? Items Used SU card stock Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White & Old Olive SU stamp set 'Fresh Cuts' SU inks Pumpkin Pie, Certain Celery, Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip & Ruby Red. I also put some Ranger glitter glue Stickles Diamond on her wings and petty coat. It is a very simple card but none the less special to me (do you get like that about your creations? do they all become your babies?) It' happens so much to me I almost don't give them away (or send them to people lol) You ask my boys & Hubby all the cards I have made for them all end up back in my stash lol (I am SO bad!). Get well Milly

An elderly lady who goes to the same church as me, had a heart attack Sunday morning! Poor Milly thankfully she is recovering and has had a stent put in. She is still in hospital so I made this card for her and I will be popping up later today for a visit. She is a lovely woman and I really hope this will brighten her day.I was going to enter this for the Basic Grey challenge 'doodling' but I can not get on the site, I know they said they would be making some changes soon, so if any one has the new basic grey challenge add please leave a comment and put me out of my misery.

Is it at all selfish That I really enjoyed making this card? knowing it may make Milly's day a little brighter. I really put my all into it. The stamped images are WOJ and the DP are Basic Grey Sultry (very pretty) also BG letters. I have coloured the card and edged it with Stampin' Up! Inks, I have just bought some more can't wait for them to arrive (I know you may think I am bias but they really are the best ink pads I have used I love them! great quality and a fab size.) Oh, you can get sets of smaller ones if you prefer, but I do love the flip flop design. OK stop waffling, Inks used pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Certain Celery, Ruby Red & Old Olive, I also used SU Card stock Certain Celery. Thanx for stopping by. Love Dawn xx

Work shop cards

Hi, at my last work shop I demonstrated two cards and they were very popular so I thought I would show you here. Now silly me I always take my camera to my demos but I NEVER remember to take photos (note to self give the camera to hostess lol)So, the one above is what every body made (make & take) only I changed it as I thought it would look better with the tears at the bottom rather than the side. I gave the one I made away! so this one will have to do! I used versamark and the SU chalks & daubers to colour the (hostess only) stamped image, it's a great stamp! and you get four stamps like the one above but all different themes. Have a look at my on line catalogue, it is a level one hostess gift. I love the way that the SU card stock is coloured all the way through, This is one of the things this card demonstrates really well.

The card above is so cute! I did chocolate chip and certain celery on the night. I think I like that more (but as I said very popular & I didn't get to bring them home ;-) I used the 'Simply said' stamp set, I really love it's versatility, you get ELEVEN stamps for £22.95 really great value! and only available from an SU demonstrator! Tri fold card

This style I think you will find familiar, I thought I would show you just how different they can look with a change of colour or the use of stamps.

I really like these colours. It must be the lovely weather we're having (with a name like Dawn how can I not love the SUN!) It's amazing how ever one's mood is uplifted with the sun. So lets enjoy it I say. lol

The difference with the second is I have just used plain card stock instead of Patterned paper and stamped it to match the main image there are also trees on the inside of the flaps. I thought woodland animals and went all autumn colours but this same card would work wonderfully in spring colours too. I have done this to show contrast in colours and the use of stamps.

Items Used: Top Card- Whisper White and so saffron card stock So Saffron design papers. Stamp sets Oval all & Simply said, inks ruby red & more mustard. Bottom Card-Creamy caramel & pumpkin Pie card stock, inks Chocolate Chip & Pumpkin Pie, Stamp Set 'Forest Friends' cute stamps reminds me of Bambi. Stamp with us Sketch challenge

It is so sunny here this morning I can cope with this weather for weeks lol keep shining Mr Sun! This is why I made this card. Over on SWU.

This is the sketch over on the Stamp with Us challenge site. It's very simple isn't it but very effective go have a look at what the DT came up with they are so so clever.This is my interpretation, as the sun was shining so much I though I would use lovely sunny colours now the card is as bright as out side lol

WOJ ch 32

So here is my entry for the WOJ ch 32 i found it hard to stick to just two colours but the DT have used other colour too! so I hope this is ok the main colours are blue & brown which is a really goof colour combo to I thought I would have a go this week (think I may have just missed it last week) any way I am on time for this one :-) Items used: WOJ stamped image from the summer collection Stampin' Up! stamp for the sentiment inks are stampin up as well bashful blue certain celery pretty in ping and chocolate chip. Card stock SU, Whisper white, bashful blue & close to cocoa Ribbon from stash. Patterned Paper,summer picnic. tools used were SU Scallop oval punch & Large oval punch

Sugar Bowl ch11

This is Kathy's sketch from Sugar bowl Also they would like you to add pearls some where. I really like this one and as usual really good prize if you win!

I ordered two new SN stamps this week and this is one of them isn't she just beautiful? This is my interpretation of the sketch I hope you like it. I have coloured her in using SU inks as they match perfectly with the SU card stock used.

I have made some of these before but I loved them so much I thought I would do some more (girly ones) I just love them (Yet another idea from SWU) was worth joining in the fun just for the projects but there was so much more to it! Baby James visit!

I had my beautiful grand son for two whole days and not had time to do very much other than ache all over lol He has worn me out, make no mistake (being disabled I have done far too much) but I love having him so much! we went shopping bought too many clothes for him the last photo is at 6am wide awake and playing with me & grandad, Hope you like the snaps lol Love Dawn xx

Fathers Day?

I was taking the classes on SWU (click for more info) I really enjoyed the experience I have made lots more friends and I would love to thank you for the card & gifts received from you and I am keeping contact with all my new crafty buddies. What's more really exciting news just when we thought it was all over we have new classes starting in Aug. I will be joining again as it was such fun and the projects were excellent. I hope they can keep this level up (I am sure they will). So on to the Card. I really enjoyed this card I may make some more too! good for any male occasion I think but as fathers day is on the way! How cute?

Oh I love wild life especially when it visits my garden to make me smile. I put a new feeder in the garden and took photo. Hubby this morning saw a squirrel and shot it (with a camera)Unfortunately it was through the kitchen window as he didn't want to scare it off.So it isn't a great photo but you can see him very clearly helping him self lol.

Oh I have a heads up for you I will show you the NEW WOJ stamps they arrived today! so if you want to take a peek! and I will be giving lots of stash away over the next week or so I will also be selling lots on e-bay lots of papermania, Basic grey and so many little things so keep popping back as some will only be on show for a day and others a few days. Cup cake ch. 39

The challenge was to make a card for a male man or boy over on cup cake this week. And I have fell in love with this Little chap isn't he adorable? I don't know his name unfortunately. He is not available to buy in this country (very like Magnolia) but images are much larger. I friend Helene who is Dutch but lives in Sweden sent me two of this kind of stamp hAngla & a magnolia one (isn't she lovely?) She sent a little girl too you can see her very soon.
