Twinchie

Hello wasn't it sunny again on Monday I created a few things I was really steaming a head ;-) which was wonderful. I love that feeling when everything just slots into place and one thing after another was just great! I am using this for two challenges. I bet you can guess the 1st one? Yep it's Sir Stampalot 'Blossoms & Butterfly's' (number 4 for me) pop over for more info I won't bore you again. The 2nd is SCD They are celebrating their First Year  and going back to where they started so this celabration month will be 'Twinchies' and this week is 'flowers' the first week was butterfly's but I missed it so what a great a  great combo i'll but both together ;0)

Here is the close up. It's some eco friendly stamp board (cheaper than the normal stuff). It' began life plain white. So I had to make some differences, I used a few DIs, some stamps and some of my FP (see previous post) and this is also A bit of a hint to tomorrow's post! if any of you play WOYWW with Julia with the rest of blog land lol there is something special happening tomorrow so make sure you pop back here to see where this Twinchie fits in! Love Dawn xx

Edited to add some more photos (couldn't help my self he he)

This is another little Sneak peak for tomorrow's little project, I am getting really exited about WOYWW this week ;0) I have altered a few Bottle Caps  (BC) and I thought I would show you two first this little sneak peak one you will get all the details about this tomorrow.

I have to say I am really pleased with how these BC are turning out. I haven't squashed this one (like the previous one)  I then covered in alcohol inks when dry I stamped back and I punched out a Crafty Individuals photo then I added some stickles all round some glassy accents and then painstakingly placed each gold glass seed bead round. And I am going to enter this into a challenge  Alter it monthly This month the theme is 'Tin Pan Ally' so any metal pop over for all the details. So you can see why I had to add these two little things I am off out for the day so see you all tomorrow. love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Distress Inks (DIs) Tim Holtz. Stamp board, Fruit Pixie. Stamps, Laura Ashley and Paper doll art (Catherine Moore).

It's the week end!

Hello bloggy land, how is your weekend going? Well this getting up early is going rather well I was up again before 6am this morning and all fired up. I first prepared for church tomorrow (reading scriptures praying etc) and then I found a cool tutorial for these flowers. Terri I am sure some of you know. Had made these scrummy flowers so I thought I would give it ago and do it only a little differently. First don't bother trying to punch them out (when you watch the tutorial you will know what I mean, nightmare!) this is because they are crepe flowers and they kinds stretches, so just punch some card in the size you need, than you can then fold the crepe paper like a fan and cut round your circle (SO much easier lol) Also Terri managed to find the most adorable crepe paper, no such luck for me so I improvised lol. I bought white as they only had the garish primary colours (and I did so love Terri's pastel colours) so I bought white crepe paper and used my GM, easy as that and I can have lots of colours.

Thought I would show you a wee close up (it wouldn't be a post with out one now would it lol) and the pearls were in that tin of buttons I got for a £1 at the car boot last week. Speaking of bargain's I got some crackers yesterday.

This is solid wood and a music box too. Looks like some thing used to be on the top, but that didn't bother me not when it was only £2.25 BARGAIN! I love my charity shops. I also managed to get a Scrabble game (for the tiles you know) for £2 and if you try to go on e-bay and buy just tiles you will know what a bargain that is. I managed to get some doilies too for 50p each I am not kidding I was so happy yesterday when I got my scrabble I have been looking in the 'ol' charity shops for months for that game and those doilies. Oh what else mmm, oh and so much material (because it's a wee bit worn and holey)  for just £3 I kid you know there must be about 3-4 meters of yumm quality cotton. I am going to start to make some fabric paper with this today. Oh, and there was a delivery this morning. I now have some more TH dies The bird cage, the shield and the ticket strip I am pretty happy bunny now, I have the ones I really want as I managed to get the flowers and a few others ages ago So looks like I have loads to do and it's not even 11am yet. Have a great week end. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Plain White Crepe paper. Glimmer Mist (GM) Tattered Angels. Pearls from broken necklace.

Hello, Blogger has changed, again. Looks like we have a spell checker and we can add videos again now. It's also changed how you upload your photos again which I am not sure about. I made this card to help me get back into gear with my mojo as I felt a bit slow and groggy. So it's nice to have a sketch and colour scheme planned to give you a bases to start. I decided to use a die and cut out some flowers with material I singed the edges then stamped I love the effect. I put this on top of a paper Dollie which I had already distressed  and added to some card stock as well as some textured card stock which I sanded and used a punch on.

I then stamped an image from one of the Alice in Wonderland sets I have and used Sepia Archival ink, I was going to add some colour either with copics or chalk for a change then I decided I quite liked the effect as it was. I hope you like this too, Love Dawn xx

2nd Post of the day & some more Challenges

Hello for the seccond time today, I have been doing lots of stuff maybe I should put less on the blog, but I do love to show you my efforts. Still Loving Paris! I have made this post card.So much work in this, and what fun it was to make. (got very messy) Some card stock used lots of DI and then stamped the Effel Tower then gessoed a script stamp. A photo by CI and altered it, same with the chip board, added it all together so this is entilted 'From Paris with Love' very yummy I do hope I get there this year (sighs!)

This chip board was sanded to an inch of it's life ;0) then crackle paint and emboss powder sprinkled on in places. You can see the texture here and I love how this turned out.

There is a very fine glitter all over this piece and consiquently it was all over me, the dog, cat and various other members of the family lol

On to a challenge, Gothic Arches the theme 'wild & wacky' well a guy with no body singing in a 'Gilded Cage' (this is the name I given this piece) notice the bird is free! well if that isn't wacky or wild I don't know what is lol. This is also being entered for The Three Muses which this week is 'Incognito' I do hope you like it.

This is white card stock, DI and then photo cut out and added, then gold EP and stamped carefully to make sure it looks like the man is safely inside! Then some more stamps in DI round the edges! I had real trouble thinking of something I can tell you!

Next is another challenge for Stampin' Sisters In Christ they are looking for peaceful this week. I think this brings peace, the colours and birds. I just fell in love with this card when it was finished! I think the papers are wonderful K&Co I have used them loads before (you get so many in a pad!) the stamps are indivually stamped with versafine and DI then Clear EP & heated. I have distressed all the edges.

You can see a few of the levels here and the texture I hope. Also the cute little butterflys all glittered.

Thought I would include a close up of the hand made flower, done with a circle scallop punch in the chosen paper then lots of stickles added and the punched leaves. I am sure you all know by now how to make these yummy flowers I have done a tutorial, July last year! you can find it Here If you want to have a look. I have just used three punched scallops instead on one!  then stuck them together, and of course a quick peak inside.

And finally a crafty delivery! going to be some Alice stamped creations floating around! I will be posting some candy for my blogaversary L8TA to day so stop by if you can so much going on in one day can you stand it? lol leave a comment. Inchies and a challenge card

I have done a inchie once before, and over at Inch by Inch there doing a challenge, each week  it's a letter of the alphabet and this week they are up to H.I thought I had better catch up so last night I got all  inked up and played to my 'Hearts' content (H = Heart for this week challenge).

A is for Alphabet. Some Distress Ink  (DI) and a Tim Holtz stamp then a few Dymo letters. B is for Bear. Some Glimmer Mist (GM) and a punch of a bear. E is for Eifel Tower. I have used a photo from Crafty Individuals (CI) and a pebble from Prima (loving these new pebbles from Prima). F is for Feather & Flower. Feathers black & White cut to size, then a chip board flower & Letter form Laura Ashley (LA).
C is for Cap. Another CI photo punched out with a mini tag, stuck on to DI inchie. D is for Dome & Dragon fly. Another Punched out & CI photo covered in Distress stickles, Rock candy on a back ground of DI. G is for Gull. Inchie again covered in DI and photo cut out of CI  & chip board LA letter. Finally H is for Heart. Believe it or not this took the longest, it's about 20 little punched out hearts covered in DI then stuck down onto the inchie with Glossy accents and left to dry over night! phew, can you stand some more?

A challenge card, you still with me? I know this is a long post for me, but I did have such fun yesterday playing with all these things so from distress to sweet (almost sickly lol) this is covering a few challenges for me. First, Midnight Madness this is a first time for me over on this challenge, it's a sketch. Next is Ginger Snap Creations Another first, this is a wonderful blog with so much creativity there challenge is 'Celebrate' and all birthdays are a celebration (even the big ones, we women sometimes try to avoid) I was 40 last year phew there's a celebration lol. Next is, lili of the valley Yet another first for me, (get me trying new challenge sites lol). I thought I was spelling gone mad but that's how they spell it. There challenge is a easel card. Finally, is also a new one so FOUR NEW Challenges for me this week! The Play Date Cafe is a colour challenge of deep yellow, pale yellow and white. So do what I have done pop along and try something new and have a look at these yummy sites.

Here is a close up of my New stamp, had it over a week I think but only just using it. (well I did get a lot last week to play with). ;0) She is coloured with Copic's. I thought this Yellow challenge would be quite difficult but I do like the fresh Spring feel you get and I am please with how it turned out in the end.

Thought I would give you a close up of the Hand Made Flower I have used lots of GM on this, if you look you can see it (a wee bit).

And here you can see on the flowers the pearl GM just to give them a little texture and I love the Emboss folder, it's a shame there are not bigger isn't it? when we all made them little card it was fine but when you want to make a larger card you can use them as a whole back ground as I would some time like to do. Any way I have kept you long enough, well done if you read and looked through all this, I am please you took the time. Love to you all as always, Dawn xx

Items used on card:- Coloured with Copic Markers. Card stock,  Stampin Up (SU). Flowers & Lace from Orchid Crafts. Nestabilities for the flower & frame. SU punches & Stamp for the sentiment. DP my minds eye. Stamped Image Bells & Whistles.

A day with Tim!

Morning I am shedualing this post, as grandson will be coming and I don't know if I will get to play much on Tues & Wed. So here I am on Mon. am with fingers crossed. A day with Tim, (not him self) but sure felt like it going through loads of techniques all day and then putting some of those practiced techniques in to a piece of work and this is it!

I thought it would be a shame not to enter this into a challenge so I thought of Tuesday Taggers  as there theme is swirls and curls and I have used a swirly stamp and they are being sponsored this week by one of my fave online shops (I know I have a few lol) but Crafty Individuals have some great stamps and the company is very generous I have recommended them before because of their great service. Now it just so happens I won last weeks prize, how cool is that? so the chances of me winning again are pretty slim lol but one can try and it's always fun to enter isn't it lol

I have done the flower before, but here it is again, and if you look at all the butterflys you will notice that they have been punched from crackled DP, I love the effect and of course some DI smudged (Dawn's techniqcal term) in to show the crackle effect.

I have taken a grunge key and stamped it with clear EP  and heated re-inked to get this rusty effect with a darker DI. I also put some alcohol ink on the jump ring to age it too.

Another close up of the Butterflys all crackled, just thought, I should of turned the last to photos round lol. I have had a ball with Tim's book it does feel like kinda havin' him there guiding you through every step, very good instructions and accompany photos.

The final photo bet you thought we wouldn't get there lol. You may notice the clear EP frame which had been done when there was only a very light back ground  of DI I have added more and more on top then whiped the excess off the top of the EP and so the frame still looks like the origional light colour, I know most of us have done a lot of these techniques before but just in case you haven't I am letting you know ;0)  Well that was the last photo, better get some things done in prep for the cutie (James) to arrive. may with a bit of luck get some more crafting done today so I can get another post shedualed. Thank you for stopping by and any comment you may leave thank you. Love Dawn xx

Items Used: - too many! Tim Holts, DI, alcohol inks, Idiology distress stickles, distress crackle, Grunge, & stamp. Nestabilites, Marthar Stewart, Making Memories DP & Ribbon. Anna Gryffin Stamps. Think thats it!
