SCD TAGS 'Christmas Character'

Morning everyone. So two weeks today until Christmas, how exciting is that? or is that pretty scary? I haven't done much to prepare for Christmas, I'll talk more about that in my second post of the day later. Any way another tag challenge for SCD and this week were looking for a 'Christmas Character' so angels, Santa, deer or what ever else you can come up with. Here I have chosen the most important character for Christmas and that's Jesus Christ. That's why I don't like the shortened version of the word Christmas because without Christ there is no Christmas.

Here is the close up ;0) I have been using alcohol ink on glossy card stock to create a different back ground. I am thinking of making some cards this way too. As I am not organised these should be fairly quick (who am I kidding lol) but they will still be OOAK cards. I'll show you one when I have finished. As usual you did great with last weeks Tag 'trees' and I expect no less this week. It's a fabby theme by Laura and gives you lots of things to choose from. So do pop around and see what all the other DT have made. What characters do you think they would choose over at Something Completely Different? Click the link to pop round. Now I have more 12 tags to catch up on ;0) Love Dawn xx

Twinchie & Box

A big welcome to my new followers, I have another three in this past week and I do hope you enjoy my crafting journey, I am so amazed I have so many followers and really all the comments make me continue and I really do love sharing my art with you all, thank you for all your encouragement. Thank you very much for all your wonderful comments, yesterday  was amazing, so sweet of you. I got to about 80 of  the WOYWWers yesterday and couldn't do any more! so popular now our Julia and her fabby WOYWW. I will show you my desk and another draw next week! sorry I didn't this week but I thought the post was long enough and I didn't want to make it any longer for you all ;0) I know how long it take to visit so many blogs! so thanx again for sticking to the end lol. Any way thank fully I made this Tuesday! or today would be empty! never end up crafting on a Wednesday any more lol.

I have made a twinchie! I really liked making this twinchie I have made it for a challenge with SCD as May is their B'day month and every week we have to make a twinchie the theme is 'crowns' this week and I think you will see the lion is king here! he he.

It's really quite 3D. I have used Chip board as a base and covered it in dictionary paper aged it  with some DIs, then, added a photo! I use two for a 3D effect I stamped a crown on a paint chip, than added some stickles and glossy ascents to make the crown even more special! I hope you like the effect.

Now On to my box, Do you like it? This was a plain box and I primed it with two coats of primer (gesso)I then painted it in copper cracking paint (see item list) then I left over night to crackle and I love the results you get. I put some design paper (DP)  inside the box (not shown) then I stamped with some black permanent ink heat-set it and then I added a twinchie! I hope you like this I thought I would show it as one post, hope you don't mind. Love Dawn xx

Twinchie

Hello wasn't it sunny again on Monday I created a few things I was really steaming a head ;-) which was wonderful. I love that feeling when everything just slots into place and one thing after another was just great! I am using this for two challenges. I bet you can guess the 1st one? Yep it's Sir Stampalot 'Blossoms & Butterfly's' (number 4 for me) pop over for more info I won't bore you again. The 2nd is SCD They are celebrating their First Year  and going back to where they started so this celabration month will be 'Twinchies' and this week is 'flowers' the first week was butterfly's but I missed it so what a great a  great combo i'll but both together ;0)

Here is the close up. It's some eco friendly stamp board (cheaper than the normal stuff). It' began life plain white. So I had to make some differences, I used a few DIs, some stamps and some of my FP (see previous post) and this is also A bit of a hint to tomorrow's post! if any of you play WOYWW with Julia with the rest of blog land lol there is something special happening tomorrow so make sure you pop back here to see where this Twinchie fits in! Love Dawn xx

Edited to add some more photos (couldn't help my self he he)

This is another little Sneak peak for tomorrow's little project, I am getting really exited about WOYWW this week ;0) I have altered a few Bottle Caps  (BC) and I thought I would show you two first this little sneak peak one you will get all the details about this tomorrow.

I have to say I am really pleased with how these BC are turning out. I haven't squashed this one (like the previous one)  I then covered in alcohol inks when dry I stamped back and I punched out a Crafty Individuals photo then I added some stickles all round some glassy accents and then painstakingly placed each gold glass seed bead round. And I am going to enter this into a challenge  Alter it monthly This month the theme is 'Tin Pan Ally' so any metal pop over for all the details. So you can see why I had to add these two little things I am off out for the day so see you all tomorrow. love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Distress Inks (DIs) Tim Holtz. Stamp board, Fruit Pixie. Stamps, Laura Ashley and Paper doll art (Catherine Moore).

Altered Frame

Morning folks, I left some photos for your own use on previous post B&W and Sepia I thought you may like them for some craft projects have a look later. Now this little innocent frame above this was before I altered it. Now it has been Dawnied (see below) lol I bought 2 from the charity shop for 32p each  they both had these big flowers in which I have kept. (you never know when it will come in handy) I showed you on Wednesday WOYWW them painted  (there was also a third larger frame)I sanded them all and used a small tester of the vintage crown paints and there is still lots left! So now I have come back to show you one finished frame I hope you like it. I am using this to enter a challenge GSC theme is 'Botanical' pop along loads of inspiration from the DT as always. as well as SCD the letter they are using thios week is 'H' and there  are one or two Hearts in my project ;0) Also Sunday Stampers

I have gone all girly vintage, But I haven't given this peice a name as yet! There are a few techiques in here too! I have had a lot of fun using a new technique (more about that in a min) and using some old stash as well as some new!

Here You can see Tim Holtz yummy 'Ornate Plates' which I hate to use but what's the point of all the good stuff being in the draws and not on my art? I used some paint and one of the 'Adage tickets' inked with DI, I also got a 'Bow Easy' and it does what it says on the tin, you can see a tiny bow made with hardly any bother at all. So more bows around I think lol In the back ground you can see the lovely BG DPs but also the lace stamp I used, loving this new stamp set!

I painted a chip board Butterfly then stamped it in a contrasting colour,  I then used a metalic rub for the edges instead of ink for a change. I also used the bow easy again ;0) I also used a new mold and some friendly plastic  (all very new to me) to make the key hole. I was inspired to have a go by Lucy You can see her TT  if you click her name. I was very impressed. So I have started small but I have already made an Eiffel Tower and other things too, I may get to show these to you another time. But I am loving the versitility this new technique can give me.

I have had some of this chip board for years, it has been radically altered but it's so useful isn't it? the heart I covered with some DP and then a lovely image. I rubbed some metalic rub on round the edges, the sissors you know I already love lol I have stamped and cut them out and then highlighted with Glossy accents.

Last one, another little chip board butterfly, this time inked and then some glass glitter sprinkled all over with a couple of pins at the back, and all mounted on some foam to lift. I have had the pins so long I don't know where they're from. On the outside of the frame is a stamped image coloured with copics, love this. I have cut the stand off that is on the stamp it's really lovely, also on the frame are stamped images from the same stamp set also a yummy flower and another tiny bow. So what do you think? Love Dawn xx

Shabby Note Book

Hello my wonderful crafty on line companions, I hope you are having a wonderful Easter. I managed to get some play time over the last couple of days. This project was wonderful fun and will help me store my new ideas. I often wake up or can't sleep due to things spinning around in my head so I thought I would make a note book well alter a cheep Asda note book ;0). I did see a challenge some where for fabric but can't find it now doh! any way I will enter this for SCD Which is something  with a 'W' White in this case. Alphabet challenge is 'White' this week as well. The Sunday stampers their theme is 'Lace' and Simon Says is 'distressing'. must see if I can find the fabric one again lol

I started with a cheap note book from Asda, then some DP I watered some WHITE gesso down then painted the DP giving a nice distressed/shabby look. I also used the same method with some paper flowers and left them to dry over night. I liked the transfer TT so much on GSC (see previous post or GSC TT Links) I thought I would have another go with an image I am not sure where from? sorry let me know if you know and I will give credit to them. I got my machine out again for the second time this week lol and stiched the transfer to some linen tatted the edges up again and used very wabbly stiching (on purpose lol).

I popped some lace on from my stash and added some roses in a nice cluster. I also stubtly stamped over the gesso in various places butterflys & swirls (there must be some more challenges I can add this to;0) I really do hope you get chance to think about this week end what it really means to have the atonement of Jesus Christ in our lives. Be safe, love Dawn xx

Items Used:- DP K&Co Stamps SU. Flowers various. Lace, linen Stash. Tim Holtz Idea-ology ornate plate.

Queen of screen

Afternoon every one. I have been struggling for ages with Mozillia Fire fox today it's not uploading comments And I can make new post or comments on any blogs, so I am way behind.  Finally I have come to explorer to upload my Trinchie for the challenge over at SCD the theme this week is crowns. So I thought I would take this opportunity to use another new stamp!

It's the wonderful Audrey Hepburn 'Fashion Icon' but for this purpose the 'Queen of Screen' as I needed to ad a crown lol. I think I have caught the glitter aspect from the GM and EP for once lol I love the shimmer/sparkle from GM they are wonderful! So I stamped the image on an old book page then Sprayed some white CS with the GM used my heat gun (no patience lol) then used some stamps from the craft stamper as a back ground and the crown some more stamps for the sentiment and finished! I have some more new followers who are most welcome thanx for joining me on my crafty journey, If you leave a comment I will definatly get round to your blog. Love Dawn xx

Edited to add:

I'm a GDT member at Tuesday Taggers And aTrinchie too!

I was so thrilled to be asked to be a GDT over at Tuesday Taggers every one that wins has the opportunity, how cool. The theme this week is Masquerade/Jesters I went with the Masquerade I just kept thinking of the beautiful masks worn and thought I would like to make one or two ;0) I have had an idea I can use this for a challenge this week too! Over at the Three Muses the challenge this week is 'incognito' and Marilyn is most certainly that, I hope you like it.

Here is a close up of the mask on the card I guess you recognise Marilyn too! I have used this stamp many times but still no idea where it came from. There are lots of stickles to make the mask come alive! So what did I do? Well I stamped Marilyn on some vanilla paper with stazon. Drew a mask free hand on some card stock, used lots of Glimmer Mists (GM) you should see how they sparkle IRL. Then I used the stickles to make patterns on the masks. used some foil card stock put through the Cuttlebug EF then some yummy Basic Grey paper, black card stock too! then lots of sticky dots (like brad heads) I even gave her a diamond necklace (More stickles)

I thought I would (as it's TTs) make a tag to go along with the card, this time a change of mask and feather! but same back ground & paper. Done the same as the card only different colours. I stappled the mask to Marilyn with a feather. Pearl necklace this time with some pearl glue paint, distressed the edges of the tag,  that's about it. It's very nerve racking being  a GD as you don't know what any one else has created and you just hope that yours is ok and doesn't look too sad next to there all too often amazing creations so I am honored to be amongst them this week I hope you like this, so do pop along and have a go I really enjoyed this theme.

On to my Trinchie for Something Completely Different I love this challenge every month something fun and every week a great theme. I had trouble with the theme 'MEN' I found this stamp at the last minuet as I have no stamps with a man on then this came to my rescue (I have ordered a couple now) I wish you could see it IRL the colours are wonderful with Glimmer Mist (GM)

I only just taken these (Late at night) so it's hard to see well. I got some white card stock couple of GM then dried and then some DI stamped and then some cream CS and stamped the image cut out and added to the Trinchie. I bought these postage stamps ages ago (honest must of had them over a year!) never new what to do with them other than I liked them and it's perfect for this isn't it?

I don't know how I came up with the saying it just popped in my head, after many I just coudln't use for one reason or another, then woosh and I thought yep! my thoughts exactly. How uncomfortable these must have been to ride and why on earth so high? I know some bikes were high so you could put the oil lamps out at night but this was strictly for recreation/getting around BARMY! ;0) I hope you like this fun little post and thanx again for stoppin by have a great week and pop by again soon for a nosey and a chat. Love Dawn xx

Trinchie

Hello again blog land, What a beautiful day it was today (Monday) I'm going out tomorow so will be busy most of the day, then hoping to got to the Cinema to see Alice in Wonderland in (3D) So plenty of inspiration when I'm out but no crafting arrgghh!! How will I cope?

This is a 'Trinchie' a 3x3 piece work of art (if on a small scale) although it was inchies last week! lol I  love this colour of DI Worn Lipstick and a bit of weatherd wood thrown in. This is for the challenge over at Something Completely Different for this month the theme is Trinchies and this week it's love & romance. You can't have Love & Romance with out Paris in my book (not at the moment any way ;0)

Final picture, awh isn't that nice swoon! I love the lace on her head dress isn't it beautiful? So how did I make it? OK I distressed the white card in two colours, then with the same colour stamped some chandeliers as a Back ground, then, change of ink and stamped some more, the rest is self explanitory I think! if you have any questions you know you can ask, no wories.  Thanx for visiting. Love Dawn xx

More ATCs & another delivery woo hoo!

More ATCs  And there are a few challenges between them. First is Stampin' Sisters in Christ. Which this week is about time, as is Something Completely Different which is for this month ATCs and this weeks theme is time. I am also going to enter this in for Allsorts which this week is a lable tag or ticket. They are the challenges for the ATC on the RIGHT. Now the challenges for the LEFT. Dragons Dream is a new site for me but this week she would like to see Tigers (my fave cat of all) or something tiger related. Tuesday Taggers is getting messy (photos to follow he he). You are also asked for a chance to win a prize to include a link for The Craft Barn, I have bought GM and lots of stuff from these so I don't mind recomending them.

The above two photos are close ups of the ATC  to the right on the first photo. (still with me?) hope so lol. Done lots of things on this I used TH stamp on acitate, stapled the ticket and took a clip from SU and used alcohol ink to distress it. Lots of Glimmer Mist and DI, I used sprockets & gears as masks, wiped the ink off them and put them back in the packet lol.

I love the texture that this stamp from Anna has given lots. Loads of GM at first and then some Stazon on the stamp and vola tiger stripes, and I thought as the Tigers are so endangered (some kind of tigers are actually extinct in the wild and off the face of the planet) hard to believe isn't it? So I thought the quote was very apt good 'ol Shakespeare!

I have been much messyer (if there is such a word lol) but there it is lots of mess and ink n stuff all over the place. Thanx for looking, and any comments. Love Dawn xx

EDITED TO ADD: this mornings arrivals woo hoo

Aren't these babies yummy!

My first ATCs

Hi ya, well me making ATCs what do you think? I had to have a go I was over at SCD And saw the ATCs they made with the title 'wings' I love the DT efforts and the week before it was 'mad as a hatter' and I just loved all the stuff they came up with so clever. o I thought to my self, I am going to have a go, so I did one with wings, but this is finished now and the NEW theme is 'KEYS' I just thought of 21 Key of the door! so that is my ATC.

So first I did a beautiful back ground with my new GM & DI then I made a door and still more GM then the grunge board came out and I covered these in GM too!

This is the 'WINGS' one I love how this turned out and this is truly my 1st ATC I have stuck to the measurements, however it's only card stock. I think its surposed to be something more substancial like board. Any way I got some GM and stamps out and some stuff that has been in my stash forever! and was really happy with this end result.

I did the butterfly twice, stuck the second one by the body to the first and added rock candy all over both layers. inked up the leter B and stamped that with a butterfly too. as well as all the background in different colours and with different stamps, and I had lots of fun, and that's the most important thing that we have fun when we craft. My hubby still says although he didn't think the card he made for me was great he really enjoyed him self and will never buy me a card again. (so looks like I will have to share my goodies with him now and again ;0)Thank you for looking& any comments you leave. Love Dawn xx

Gift and tag

This is for a challenge, SCD They have gone back to tags and the great Maralyn Monroe has to be included this week so hurry. To make this tag I used Tim Holtz distress inks Crafty individual swirl Charm I have had ages some string and the sentiment I have used many times too. I can never remember where I got this stamp and I wish I could because they had Elvis & Laural & Hardy (well it was out of stock when I ordered it hubby loves them two lol) It's a shame as they were very good if any of you know which web based shop I meen please leave me a link thanx. There will be more tags later as I am playing catch up with the 12 tags of Christmas with TH click on the side bar for more info and posibility of prizes.
Do any of you remember making these at school I thought I would make a couple (gosh they smell really strong) I need some cinnamon now (lots of it) as I want to make something (cinnamon sticks are so expensive though I like it to smell Christmassy in the house. (these cloves will send me loopy) if I don't get some cinnamon going too!

I had to share this with you I got this wonderful card today all the way from Australia from the lovely Cheryl I am sure you all know her. I don't get many people sending me stuff (thouse that have I thank you again for your friendship) and it's so nice when they do (obviously I will be returning the favor) But isn't this card wonderful? Its so nice to see IRL one of her wonderful cards.

And here are just a few of the goodies she popped in for me, she noticed bless her, that I only have one magnolia stamp and still haven't been able to get any more so stamped lots of lovely images for me as well as the wonderful Edward which is what brought this all about in the first place. I love the santa image isn't he darling? A big thank you to you hunny (something will be in the post soon) So pop along to see more of her work just click her name it will lead you to her wonderful blog. Thank you for looking. Love Dawn xx
