MOJO MONDAY 96 this weeks sketch is fab I love what the DT come up with as they are such a good starting point! Am I using the glossy Acents too much again? Another project with the accent all over, but I love highlighting parts with it. In this case her hair, hat and a few accents to the dress in places just tp draw the eye in to the main stamped image. I am so greatful to the team as I have been lacking motivation of late and this is a great way to get back in to the flow of crafting. However, saying that I have my Grands son James and Niece Elizabeth for a few days, we hope to go camping tomorow so I may be missing for a week.Itemes used: Stampin' Up! DP Summer Picnic, Card stock Pumpkin Pie & whisper white, Ribbon Old Olive Inks: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron Bashful Blue & Real Red SU Stamp set, Tart & Tangy Nestabilities, Glossey accents & WOJ stamp. Thank you for stopping by and looking. Love Dawn xx

Have a break have a Make & Take

Being a Hostess for Stampin' Up! is so much fun not just for the hostess but all the guests too! Why? Well the hostess receives some great benefits, for her time and inviting a few friends who craft or would like to know a little more about crafting she can benefit in so many ways. As a hostess she can earn free money to spend in the currant Stampin' Up! Catalogues and free gifts too! as well as having a night in with friends and learning new things.
The guests also benefit, yes they get out of the house meet people that goes with out saying. By coming to a Stampin' Up! Demo they have a chance to win FREE prizes and they will also get to actually make and take something home!
Here is a choice of what the guests of my lovely hostess will make & take this evening! A lovely card that can be used for any occasion (just change the sentiment) or a lovely little 3D item within which are some yummy jelly beans. This can be altered to make party favors for a wedding or a leaving gift for a special teacher, these are very quick to make and look fab! They remind me of the Jubilees (Gosh I am getting old well I was 40 on Sat) we used to have as kids, my hubby says they called them Mambos. Block of ice that one suck and all the juice was gone lol then was used as a football lol see now you can relive your child hood memories in more than one way at a fun demo.

I hope you like my little in site as this is what I will be doing this evening with a few ladies and having fun too. Nice thing to do to liven a Tuesday evening up isn't it? If you would like to learn more about becoming a Hostess, Demonstrator or even would like to know more about these lovely products e-mail me at craftydawn@googlemail.com I would be only too happy to answer any questions you may have. Don't forget there are catalogues on the left hand side just click and you can have a virtual look through if you spot anything you would like to order you can through me if you wish to do so. So have a great day. Love Dawn xx

Flower Tutorial (at last)

Hello fellow crafters & Blogers. I have been asked so many times about these flowers. So here as promised they are. (sorry for the wait) I hope you are not disappointed they really are SIMPLE! So here are the items I will use to make them photo says a 1000s words so enough said here lol
Now start by punching out a scallop. Here I have done one in the wonderful SU card stock and also one in our DP.
Now you will need a large emboss tool or just use the end of your craft knife (mine is metal though) use your imagination here. You will also need a sponge mat of some kind. I got this out of a CDs stamp set many moons ago!
Now here is the very difficult part of making the flower take your emboss tool and start at the scallop edge! and drawn to the centre, I also use circular motions (how difficult is it to take a photo with your left hand when your right handed?) Answer very!!!
Do this with both scallops!
Be a little gentle with the DP as thinner than the very good quality card stock!
So here you are two almost finished flowers all rubbed!
Now snip snip I have shown you two lots this one I have sniped every scallop.
And this one is every other scallop.
Now with some twine and some matching buttons you have your flowers, very simple and with SU it is really good to have perfectly matching flowers to go with any item you can produce! if you look further down my blog, you can see some other examples of my yummy flowers. They do look very prima so I'm told and you can also stamp the scallops before you start and have textured flowers too! little embossing powder, the possibilities are only limited by your imagination! I hope you like this, If you make some let me know would love to see your examples. Please leave me a comment if you have any questions at all. Love Dawn xx

Is any one else looking fwd to Harry Potter (HP) being released next Wednesday? Wouldn't it be fab if there was a H.P. Stamp set! I am so excited lol (big kid I know) I have just re-read the Half blood Prince to refresh my memory. And it's a cracking book (I have them all) they all are very well written, I look forward to James (my Grandson) getting a little older so he can hopefully enjoy them as much as I do. He is with me for the next few days. I am the BIG 40 on Saturday I will be a little busy to post this weekend.
Any way enough chatter on to the project isn't this sketch lovely, I really do like this challenge site as they have good sketches and if I am ever stuck for an Idea they can really help you out!
Isn't this sketch lovely? I thought I would go for a different image than the normal kind I love this stamp and the pink and chocolate are one of my favorite colour combinations. So I am entering this for three challenges this week Mojo Monday 94 Paper take weekly (favourites) & Rosie Dees. Crafty Time Away

I was invited to a craft day of FUN! I am so happy I went. We all chat on ILWS and Caz asked if we would like to have a get together, she lives in Croydon and I near Manchester so I thought it was a bit far to go. However Jeanette also nr Manchester really wanted to meet her SU family so said if I wanted to go we can split the cost FAB idea and we would have company too. So we had to make a project and have eight more so others can make one too, have it ready like a make & take (cut & all materials req.) so here is what we all brought and we had the best time. Sorry about this lay out it is upside down so go to the bottom and work your way up lol I have tried to swap the photos round but never mind you get the idea. I think this lady was called Susan, not entirely sure I am so sorry if I am getting your name wrong! I loved this project very simple to do, (so simple I got it wrong! lol) I have no defence at all! I am so happy Sue did this though it is a gift holder. Money i Tune book token etc. what a fab idea I keep thinking about cards I have seen with pockets in must have a look round and if you have done one leave me a comment would love to see it! I love this project, I have totally forgotten the ladies name she was so sweet. she had a very gentle nature. I have done something similar before but how nice to have a Christmas project too! Stampin' Up have some great Christmas stamps, but I hate thinking about Christmas as a holiday (Cards etc) before Nov. Although there are that many cards we need to make these days it may be very good advise to get started lol. I think the only thing missing was a nice wedding project lol so if you have any good wedding projects let me know I would love to pop along to your blog I so need some new fresh ideas ;-) This is Siobhan card I love this as I am useless when it comes to male cards I am so happy she did one it is a great stamp set too I may have to purchase it, I love what she has done with using an emboss folder too! lovely woman I hope you and Steph have fun (they live near one another) I need your blogs so leave a comment and I will pop on all your blogs. (can't believe I forgot!) although I should find them as we are all on ILWS so I will have to pop on again.

I am not the best at remembering names I think this is shaz's but I could be wrong! sorry if I am. I love this card and here you are getting a little sneak peak of one of a stamp set that will be arriving in Nov. Catalogue I think is is one of Four stamps a little like the tree we have for four seasons. So this is an exclusive I think the frog is such a cutie.

Jeanette and I traveled from Manchester to London if I say the trip was eventful I would be understatement lol (she knows what I mean ;-) she was a wonderful companion for the journey and it took a long time but it flew in such wonderful company a BIG THANK YOU to you Jeanette I had a blast and it was because of you. Couldn't have gone with out you.

This was Jeanette's project, isn't it wonderful? I didn't get time to finish this & brought it home isn't it a cracker? So versatile just change the papers and you can have a mothers day gift or a fathers day I love it so much.

The inside is as beautiful as the outside!
This was Steph's this woman is SO organised she had this made up for all of us and this is a complicated project this really was stick to gether and what a beautiful project, I am so grateful that Steph went to so much trouble every one loved this (I think the sweets in side helped lol)

This is what Caz made isn't it yummy! we both went baby! I so love this project. would like to make in lemon for boy or girl but I will have to buy a few stamps sets until I can make these again. I think that is one of the beauties of getting together like this we all get to meet and chat but also get to share ideas & stamps.

I had the BEST time with the most lovely ladies. as you can see there were a few of us and we all met in Croyden at Caz's (bottom right left) house. Such a lovely hostess! Thank you for allowing me to visit your beautiful home.We sat in the garden in beautiful sunshine crafting all day it was the best fun!Aren't all the ladies beautiful? they so are and it was a real pleasure to be with them ALL day. We really had a giggle. we shared so many ideas and chatted about blogs we loved and other talented ladies that inspire, I only wish I had a better memory. I should have written them down.
We all agreed to take a project each, (pretty much done all cut out ready to stick together) all you had to do was stamp & stick. You can't see very well but the vest has the matching stamp
from the card, which goes in the box, so cute! Every one loved it and also the flower! because it looked like a prima flower & matched perfectly. (this had been mentioned in previous post)I think I will show you all this as I have been asked but I will take some step by step photos with step by step instructions so watch this space! I hope you like the projects that we brought & shared with each other we all now have one of each and can create them again having made one. Please leave a comment and I will visit your blog. Love Dawn xx
