Jazzy Inspirations Ch. 14 & Something Completely Different wk 7

The pressure! lol I have been asked as a guest designer for this weeks 'Jazzy Inspirations' as you can see from above This Jazz CD cover has the colours orange, white yellow & black and for the challenge we have to use these in our project. I also thought it would be interesting to add another challenge, so I have combined this with 'Something completely different ' For this challenge you have to use a crown and make a tag so have done this too. I know I have used this stamp quite recently but I hope you can forgive me. I was thinking of crowns princesses kings and the like but Marilyn had to be a Queen for many. For this challenge I have used Stampin' up! (SU) Card stock, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White & Summer Sun. The black card stock is from stash. Inks also SU So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie & Versamark as well as clear emboss powder. The Crown stamp is from Craft Stamper Magazine and Marilyn, I have no idea I bought it ages ago and there is no mark on it! Jumbo eyelet SU and black Ribbon from Stash. I hope you like and feel you to may like to have a go. Love Dawn xx

Feeling much Better thank you

Thank you all for your well wishes. It was lovely to hear from you. I am feeling Much Better! I went to Morcombe for the day Yesterday with my beloved. It is lovely really they have cleaned up and it hasn't got the lewdness of Blackpool (I used to love that place as a child why did they spoil it?) there isn't much to do in Morcombe but WE loved it if you have little ones the beach is soft and lovely the water is lovely and gentle, great for paddling Tourist Info just thought I would put a link in for you to have a look.
Also I have been asked to be a guest designer this Saturday for Jazzy Inspirations, imagine me I was knocked for six, I may have been too late to accept as I only saw the request today, I have gracefully accepted though I just hope Tenia gets back to me soon with what I have to do! so have time to create something, oh my what an honor. I just hope I can do them justice.
Love to you all Dawn xx

no crafting but lots of gardening!

These are my peas I am so excited about these have tried before but failed because I didn't know what I was doing thought they would just grow up the fence but no they are self climbers but they need something to get to grips with lol so they are all cained and climbing nicely! You can see a few gaps well we have corn ( I know UK corn lol) you can see six with canes (they don't need canes but it keeps the dog from treading on them! Peppers six of those to the right! Oh Under the tunnel is our winter veg, carots parsnop sprouts lol and when we pull up the potates to the left we will have more room to plant them out when the are seedlings yay!
I planted these two years ago and now we are getting a nice mature plant with fruit!

Can you see my peas how cute can't wait to see them flowering!

I love gardening, well not so much I just direct now lol and I have directed quite well lol. If you ever thought, "I can't grow food, it must be hard". Honest it is one of Gods most natural gifts to us and I marvel at a tiny seed turning into a tomato plant we don't even buy seeds now we just take them out of the food we eat put them on the window sill to dry out then save them until it's time to plant them out. We do this with peppers and pumpkins (you need a bit of room for squash they like to spread out!) it's that simple actually I do help in the garden but less at digging and so on lol. I am growing peas this year too! there are some photos to look at but I started a few years ago I am still learning and I make mistakes too but what does it cost? not much! and if it grows look at what you get and you will never taste better! then your own fresh grown food (the satisfaction is part of it) but we did a comparison test with tomatoes etc and there was NO comparison (now I know why tomatoes are a fruit, so so sweet when grown at home! Look at my herb tub. Right near the back door so the smell wafts as you walk in and out I have a large Rosemary bush on the other side.

My very favorites, Strawberry's, well actually I love lots of fruits but when you grow yr own it's nicer and they taste great! I'm not a lover of rhubarb but hubby is and often had me doing his very favorite Rhubarb crumble! and wimberry pie (they grow wild near us).

Well I don't do much gardening Hubby does it I just supervise since I am now disabled! :-( I love the garden though and I try to utilise the small space we have (and it is so easy to grow food!) you have got to have a go honest! I started with herbs on the window sill and put them out side I had a stray blackberry bush in my gdn it took over a bit so I pulled it out and decided to start growing strawberry's instead ( that was 4/5 years ago, we have lots of blackberry bushes on walks where we live so hubby and boys collect when out with the dog and I make pies & jam mmmm we have steadily started growing more and more and I think with things the way they are very prudent too to have food in the garden (FREE natural FOOD) heaven only knows what we have been and still are eating, we can't all afford to buy organic stuff (wish i could i would) but we can all afford to grow something.

You don't need a Huge garden either a pot will do for tomartoes you can even grow a few carrots in old pop bottles and good for the kids too to see the roots and food growing (where it comes from) lots of schools are getting involved. I believe that is a good thing!
I was in a super market at Christmas time and I saw a child asking his mother what (sprouts on the stalk) were you never see them grow so how would he/she know I didn't know until later we have grown our own sprouts too last year, we are continually experimenting. We still have to grow a full grown cucumber (haven't managed it yet) we havwe goosberrys (also hubby fav) not to metion just planted our winter veg

Dawn's Stash give away YAY!

AND THE WINNER IS 'JESS'S CRAFTY THINGS' PLEASE E-MAIL ME YOUR ADDRESS AND I CAN POST OFF YOUR GOODIES CONRATULATIONS HUNNY!
I am having a clear out as I need some room for all the lovely new things I have from Stampin' Up! and my Kitchen is shrinking and there will be no where to cook or eat soon. I really hate clutter so in stead of keeping it I am giving it to my craft buddies. Not all the things are complete but I haven't used much of anything, there are 31 sheets of peel offs and only a few used from each sheet at the most. The 12x12 are virtually full, as are the smaller 6x6 and c6 sizes. The craft knives and trimmer are all fine and very sharp! (the hinge is broken on the craft knife box though) The stamps are NEW and not been used, (how many times have we bought something and never used it?) The last photo is of everything together.
Now This would be an ideal package for a new crafter but it would also be great for any crafter who would just like to stock up on a variety of stash for FREE! as you can see from the photos there is all sorts and this is just the first give away (as I said I need room in my kitchen I unfortunately don't have a craft room) so there is more to come.
I wish I had a more imaginative way of giving this wonderful stash away but all you have to do is put a photo in your blog/side bar with a link back to my blog (sorry but you must have a blog for this give away) and you must also leave a comment that's it! oh if you become a follower please tell me in your comment and you will get TWO entries. I will post world wide so feel free to enter where ever you are. I do hope you like this stash, the draw will close on the 15th June 9pm so not long! and this post will stay at the top until the end of the draw, a winner will be drawn at random the Love Dawn xx

Just a few things I knocked up! lol

I buy this Magazine every month, rarely do I actually make anything out of it the last thing I did was a take on a diary they had. My version was this Twilight Note book that was back in Feb. go have a look! I loved it, when I had finished I sent it to a lovely friend who is Twilight Mad in America. But I opened this months, Not only is here a HUGE spred on Stampin' Up! which is FAB by the way. But this little idea of making your very own bracelet so I thought what a wonderful thing to make. So off I went lol. I have used the Tart & Tangy Stamp set as when they are stamped are all round and easy to make, but if you get some back ground stamps (special offer of Free Back gound stamps in June & July) you can do all sorts.
How did I make it? well it took longer than I thought it would. But it is very simple to make (just takes a while) I had four images that I stamped on four colours real red, old olive, pumpkin Pie & whisper white (four times each) I used four inks same as before only instead of whisper white I used Black stazon. I had some beads and some clear elastic, punched holes in each corner, after folding every circle in half (use a bone folder it needs to be crisp.) Then threaded the elastic through (like tram lines)one at the top & bottom. (The magazine has step by step photos) it is as I said very easy just takes some time! Its worth it I think and imagine the colours for summer? this is just an example of the many variations you could do.

Finally I wanted some flowers (but they had to be SU) so I made some using the scallop punch and SU carstock with SU buttons, the 3D one could also be a broach to go with your bracelet and if you have a small circle punch you can make matching earrings too! dead simple low cost and very trendy not to mention Unique, no one else will have any the same. I love stamping! it's not just for making cards is it? oh and as I said in the magazine there is a HUGE spread and they use SU stamps to make your tea set unique too! I hope you like this post please leave a comment Love Dawn xx

We have been coming here since the children were small and now my oldest says he wants to take James (well we may have to take them as they have no car)There was a man catching trout, I am not kidding you don't need a rod to catch trout here, there are so many and on a warm day you can just pick them straight out of the river if you really wanted too! Fish Chips & Peas on the river how YUMMY! We had the best time eating these lol I saved some for all the birds the geese are so tame here they let you stroke them!

This is a new addition to Bakewell since we last went there we have lost the Model shop! it was SO FAB Micheal loved it lots of cars Dinky, Matchbox etc but last time we went he had gone and the shop was empty this time LOOK! a FAB SWEETIE Shop! we relived our childhood in here for about 45min and spent way too much money! but I bought American Creme Soda Kali with hard Bassets Liquorice oh bliss!

This is a wide open space onto the river or back to the shops it's lovely (and the sun shone all day) it was indeed a great day! What a beautiful day! I could add a lot more photos but just a few so you don't get too board! lol Hope hope you liked my little day out! Oh If you can goon a MONDAY it had the best market we plan to go in a few weeks, it's worth the visit just for the Market! please leave a comment have you been to Bakewell is there somewhere you love to visit time & time again? and why? tell me I would really love to know, we also have an affinity with Derwent Valley I'll Share that another day Love Dawn xx
