ATC & Challenges

Hello, hello hello, you had me at hello (I have Beyonce in my head ha ha) Sorry now for the very serious business of crafting lol. I thought I would enter a couple of challenges with this piece. I love Linda's challenge using Tim's book CCC this week the challenge in on page 63 I always love looking at the participators of this challenge and leaving the odd comment as they are always such a good quality of craft. That is also true for the lovely SSS&S which is ephemera this week. Love this stuff, so it seamed this was a challenge I couldn't neglect ;0)

Here's the close up I really love playing with ephemera This is mostly Tims stuff. However there is an old bit of vintage French book in there too! I hope you like my entry this week. Love Dawn xx

ATCs with perfect pearls

Hello all, and a very good morning to you this wet and grey Wednesday. I am not despondent about the weather today as it means I can craft for a few hours to day. I thought I would show you some of what I have been up to in my absence. I am going to enter this ATC in to the lovely Linda's CCC I love the Tim Challenges from this book and we're on page 56 this week so open your book and have a go. Tim was on QVC most of the day yesterday did any one catch the TSV pack of his? yes me too and I also got the Vagabond before it sold out so I have huge pressies on the way can't wait to share them with you. You can't see very well but I have used one of Tim's new stamp sets from CHA called 'ADVERTS' these are going to be fantastic for so many mix media projects as well as tons of other stuff. I was concentrating on getting the shine of the PPs though.

Here is another ATC same Perfect Pearls PP used on the chandelier, this time you can see the image but not the shine. I am really happy with the back grounds on these ATCs I didn't want to add to much, as I wanted some of the focus to be on the back ground. I love your comments and thoughts. Love Dawn xx

Compendium of Curiosities #31

Hello, You don't often see me on a Saturday, however, I really wanted to join a couple of challenges one is with a new group I have joined it's called Bella Creations There are many groups within BC you can join but I just had to join the group called Ooh La La And the image used here is the one we were asked to use So I have printed it on to sticky canvass. I am also entering Linda's Rusty Enamel challenge from Tim Holtz CC book Page 49 this week.

Here is a close up of the image and you can quite clearly see the enamel work too! There was some little pieces of sticky canvass left. Although not big enough for an image I used it for the Paris stamp so add as an embellishment. Well nice to be here on a Saturday for a change. see you soon. Love Dawn xx

A tag & challenges

A very late good evening to you. I have to get this up now as the CCC#30 is almost at dead line and I really wanted to enter this week. I am also entering in to the Stamp Smith as their challenge is royalty. I have used the technique on page 48 for Linda's Tim challenge. And with Simon Say's Stamp & show it's all about embossing (the back ground is all embossed) and highlighted with rub on paint.

This is a real cracking set from the Stamp Smith as there all rock legends, which also include Jimmy Hendrix and Janis Joplin. I can see these stamps coming handy for the men in my life. And the images all come in two sizes, which is handy. I have also incorporated the Andy Wahol design. Did you know that Jim Morrison met Andy Warhol, He gave Jim a gold telephone and told him he could speak to God, Jim took the phone drunk out of the building and gave it to a passer by lol.  I hope you like the tag and have a look at the challenge blogs I am joining in. I am joining in. Enjoy what's left of the week end. Love Dawn xx

Compendium of Curiosities #30

The weather was wonderful this morning. Blue skies and sun shining, but it didn't last long the wind has picked up and we're looking at lots of rain over the week end. So my shopping is done and I am going to craft so ner ner to you rain ha ha. I am Joining in with Linda and lots of others playing with Tim's book, this is from page 48 so if you would like to play along pop over to Linda's and join in the fun! And as Simon says S&S theme is of Love I thought I would use it for that challenge too.

Here is the close up, I had fun playing with paint & papers and I hope you like it too. This is a late posting today for me but I have been out and couldn't get to the computer this morning. I have been looking through some charity shops and got a great 'Jam pot' this is obviously donkey's years old but they are the best I think ;0) and also some bit's of leather some odd buttons (crafting is always on my mind) and the most stunning hammered pewter spoon. What have you found of late? Love Dawn xx

Autumn Canvass

It's another beautiful Autumnal day out side today, so I am going with it ;0) The The stamp man are on week 7 and each fortnight they have a challenge and they're having, Autumn. Cindy over at Whimsical Musings asked me to play along,  you can enter anything. I have to say I love her other blog I owe it all to him if you get time pop along.  Also Gingersnap Creations who are asking for nutrals and one colour my colour is red! The rest is pretty nutral. And finally but by no mean least is the wonderful Stamping Sisters in Christ are asking for us to think about the Lords creations. I think the seasons are a wonderful part of the creation.

Here is a close up. You really wouldn't believe the amount of layers on this. First I put some Texture Paste on the canvass (left over night to dry) then I got some acrylic paints out, you should be able to see the hills and sky (you can make photos larger if you want to have a look) then tissue paper and lots of it all stamped with DIs and glued on (I used PVA 1/2 and 1/2 with water) Then I die cut out my leaves with the new TH die. This is gong to be so versatile. I used the technique  from page 33 of Tim's book CCs,  with a large  piece of quality card stock then allowed to dry, then die cut. And a final little touch of flakes of foil. The acyclic paints, texture paste and foil are available at the Altered Element. Do pop along to all the DTs I have taken part with they have some stunning talent to show you. Love Dawn xx

P.S. if your wondering why my profile picture is supporting new spotty ears I am helping raise funds for Children in Need so please get some it's only £1 if we all Join in we can make a huge difference Love Dawn xx

ATCs

Hello, it's Thursday so the week is almost over, hope it's going well for you so far.  I had some fabby news yesterday, I was given the honor of being a Ginger Gem over at  Gingersnap Creations this was for my 3D letter A. I am very pleased I can tell you, and so I now have a GSC Badge proudly displayed on my side bar for all to see *blush* lol.  Today I thought I would show a couple of ATCs.  I decided to use tape for the base of this one I did hope it would be good to stamp on. However, this is not the case with distress inks, although  I haven't tried stazon as yet! so the smudge you see looks like the shadow of the bird which I re-stamped on separate paper and I think it gives a bit of depth now (so another happy mistake)

This is a twinchie I made a while ago, I have put this on to a masked ATC so this is going to be for challenge 15 over at Linda's Who is looking at page 58 of Tim's CC. I have been round and commented on a few already there are some fabby crafters out there. I missed last weeks grunge flower so I used the grunge flowers I was going to use for last week as this weeks masks. It was a wonderful prize last week of Tim's goodies, no idea what is is this week but I do love to play with techniques don't you? Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Tape, Tim Holtz Stamps, Stampin up & Tim Holtz. Image, Crafty indivduals. Pearls, papermania. Tiny alphas, Making Memories. Wings, Tim Hotx die & Grunge paper. All other items stash.

3D Grunge Letter A

Good Morning, How's your week end Going? I am enjoying the warmth I can tell you. I have made a special piece, called 'I Love Craft'. I have had these paper mache 3D letters for a while and I have finally decided to decorate them. This is the first one and I have gone for the grunge look.

I am also using this for a challenge over at Linda's, She is doing a Tim Holtz Challenge again and this week it's on page 44 Of the CCs, Chipped Enamel.  GSC challenge is 3D so I figure this covers it ;0) SSS&S is Layers and there are lots of layer's of paper glue Distress powder etc ;0) Play Date Cafe is a colour challenge and the colours are on the DP paper (although I admit they are not really main colours but I have missed playing). And finally, at The Shabby Tea Room it's Old meets new. I have used an old letter & image, that I've had for ages with some new design papers.

There are quite a few details. I have used lots of lovely things and I look forward to making my next letter. I think every thing is pretty self explanatory Apart from the bottle cap. I filled this with an image I stamped & inked put some seed beads in, then filled with Glossy accents when dry I also put alcohol inks all over the back (not that you can see that but when I made t I didn't know what I would use if for lol. The metal 'inspire' is a button covered with paint then wiped off. Grunge paper using a TH Die Cut some shaped board and plenty of inks, both distress and alcohol and some really lovely DPs. I hope you have a a good look and please go have a nosey at the DT teams efforts for the challenges I have entered there really good. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Design Papers (DPs) My Minds Eye & Tim Holtz.  Stamps, Paper Artsy. Board, Maya Road. Grunge Paper, ornate frame, alcohol Inks, Distress Inks, Grunge board and Distress Powder, Tim Holtz. Acrylic Paint Dabber, Ranger.

Tea cup Tuesday 22 and an ATC

I love Tea Cup Tuesday with Terry and Martha. Another chance to see some wonderful china and gardens. I have made some lovely friends with TCT and I look forward to it each week.

Isn't this little set just lovely? not a mark on it and lovely and bright but not in your face (if you know what I mean) This is more English china by Argyle (Burslem Staffordshire) The shape is just lovely I think it's a pedistal shape? the gilding is just perfect not often I get really perfect pieces.

Are you loving the challenges with Linda as much as me? This weeks is all about Grunge board/paper on page 39 of the Compendium of Curiosities. Nice back to basics, but you can do so much with grunge board. I also thought I would combne this with Hels Something old (grunge board) Something new (the TH DPs yummy). This is also the challenge over at Artistic Stamper So I hope you like my ATC.

This image has been transferd on to material. The papers are lovely from Tim and I have used the Grunge Board from the plain elements coloured with DI and then stamped with scriped. I hope you can get a chance to look at some lovely china or join in with the challenge at Linda's. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Plain cardstock. Stamps, SU. Image, Suzie Q. Distress Inks (DI), Ranger. Grunge board, Tickets, Design papers & Pins Tim Holtz. Material stash.

Compedium of Curiosites week 7

I hope your all having a fabby weekend. Oh I had fun making this. It's for Linda's Challenge 7  tinted vision fragments. On page 55 I didn't have any fragments so I have improvised with this gorgeous eye glass.

Here's a close up. Very simple to make actually.  Some Stamp board then distress inks and then a darker colour for the french script stamp a few pearls and a wee bit of ribbon and all other details are in Tim Holts latest book Compendium of Curiosites. The image is just wonderful and I really went for the vintage look on this twinchie, sorry I wasn't round much last week but I hope to put a change to that this week I already have a few projects on the go so pop back soon.

Oh I just had to share this little buy with you, what do you think? I fell in love with it at this antique place we goto every so often. Hubby wants to restore it,  can't blame him actually it's in really good working order just a bit rusty. It brought back lots of memories back for him ;0) However, I have other plans for it. Can you guess? I am sure you can, I have seen old fashiond bikes painted and made in to a garden feacher. I want to put this in the front garden, it's very small but it has a beautiful cherry tree in it which  planted when we moved in eleven yrs ago so it's getting kind big ha ha but great cherrys every year. I'm waffeling again ;0) I wanted to ask for suggestions actually, my front door is red so
  1. first do I paint it at all?
  2. if I do paint it what colour?
We were in Chester not long ago and I saw some bright yellow, they looked amazing, but I am stuck as to what to do now. I want to add a basket and pop some yummy flowers in. Hubby is ok with it as a garden feacher bless him. So what do I do? let me know your thoughts. Love Dawn xx

I decided to use some vintage sheet music, I added a little DI and then some PP so as to give the gilded cage look! and all this is on some lovely grunge paper. I can't help but love the smell of this ha ha. I have also used some of Tim's new DP as a back ground isn't it lush? I have been popping to his blog to see all the sneak peeks for CHA and we in UK are going to have to wait at least 12 weeks (well usually this is the case) until these goodies filter through to some UK suppliers. So many lovely new things on my list and that's just Tim's what about every one else at CHA? I need an unlimited credit card that  never have to pay back ROFL. I notice a few new followers out there, Hi ya your so welcome to stop by any time and of course comment ;0) Don't forget to pop by tomorrow  I have another post, did you know I am on  DT  at  SCD lol and it will be my 3rd week tomorrow so I do hope you stop by and join in.
