Over at Tag Tuesday we are having fun with tags again. I thought this was a really great theme and I really enjoyed making my tag. I took the image from my Pinterest board of 'Doors'. I really like My Pinterest account I use it for all sorts of things :).

The quote I used is also on my 'Quote's board'. I also like to collect them as they inspire and make me think of all sorts of things. What will your tag make you think of this week? Do pop along to Tag Tuesday for lots more inspiration. Love Dawn xx

Tag Tuesday - Italy

I am back for my third time for  Tag Tuesday. I still can't get over the fact that I am a DT member with all these fantastic people who inspire us all.  And this week we are all off to ITALY. I have never been to any part of Italy. I have often imagined going though as I think it would be truly an amazing place to visit. From the country Tuscan hills with their rustic food and vineyards to visit, to the city of Rome and the history  & art they have there for all to see. Then maybe off to Venice  for a ride on a gondola and wear a mask maybe?  Where on earth do you start for this tag? The food? The colours of the flag? A map of the country? Some of the amazing Landmarks? What a vast choice we have this week :) And It was fun to think about just some the wonderful things about Italy.

I have been spraying inks again as well as doodling, love getting my white pen out lol. The I got some Italian themed stamps out and used some distress inks to stamp with. I took a photo from google and chopped it up ( amazing pastry's for Italy) added some ribbon and that's about it. I hope this inspires you to have a play around with a tag and the theme of Italy this week Dxx

Altered Place Matt's

I was asked if I had any place matt's with birds & butterfly's as a theme. Well the answer was no, but I could make some. And this is what I did. Sorry for the quality of photo the sun was very bright for a change and they look a little over exposed but they are all wrapped up & ready to be delivered so these will have to do.

I coloured and added wings to these images.

It took me a while to decide what on earth I would do. It's a shame these photos are so washed out. The back grounds are painted, stamped with more paint & ink and painted again, they are so bright and vibrant. I do hope my customer likes these (fingers crossed) Thank you as always for taking time to stop by and any comments you leave, I read every one! And welcome to all my new followers how lovely of you to join in my crafty journey. Dxx

Memories

This is a Collage/Painting on hard board 14x9 I was thinking about family & memories and you know, it came to me. Memories good or bad make us who we are. I wanted to put this down and got to work it began in my art journal Here. I have changed a few things, but I am happy.

I am happy with the quote, and with how it looks on the hard board. The birds are my own doodles and I really love the creation process just as much the second time around.

Hope you like these lovely birds. I am also going to enter this in to PPF I do hope you like this and have time to leave a comment have a wonderful weekend Dxx

Dragonfly's

We have had the sun shine out for a day or two in the NW of the UK and it's been a blessing I can tell you :). it made me feel all Spring like *smiles* so I  made this PC spraying the back ground with tattered angels sprays left to dry.

Then, I got out some stamps (stampin up very old) and distress inks, in various colours and stamped all over the back ground, many times until I got a look of a field of wild flowers. I created a feeling of distance to for ground, light colours that can be barely seen & using darker colours for the closer flowers.

I stamped the dragon fly's on three types of card, embossed for the body of one, plain card stock for the body of another and finally some scrap card which was covered in sparkly tattered angels sprays for the wings, This card is very glittery but I wasn't out in the sunshine when taking photos (it didn't turn out well so in the house I went. I hope you like the feeling of Spring. I may add a sentiment along there as well, I just have to find the right one. Thanks for looking Dxx

I used sprays (Dylusions) then lots of ink & paint stamping. I coloured the bunnies (Crafty Individuals) with copics, Below are close ups See you soon hope you're having a good day Dawn xx

Canvass 12x9

Hello, first, sad news, one of the kittens passed last night so Paris has four now, it is sad indeed but I expected it from the begging really. I hope she can manage the four she has left and I will of course keep you informed.

I am going to call this 'Poppy Heaven' This is a take on a piece that I did in my journal Here. And I am now thrilled to be able to turn this in to a canvass. I love flowers the sent's and colours they bring. Spring is fantastic for bringing colour. Last year hubby and I went away to Scarborough for a few days. On the way we saw fields of poppy's & linseed and I have since done a couple of journal pages about this experience.

I loved how it turned out so much I decided to do a canvass to. This is a 12 x 9 canvass I have used stencils and paints, sprays paints, gesso etc for the back ground. The actual poppies are torn vintage pages from the book 'Nicholas Nickleby' They were then painted.

Finally the black glass beads were attached and ink is used for the stems. Although these poppies  are not painted in a life like form I still feel the wind that makes them dance in the fields and the beautiful sun on my face of the day,  when I look at them, to me they're as life like as any other poppy ;0) I am also adding a link to Paint Party Friday I am not a talented painter by a long shot but I do enjoy what I do paint and to me enjoyment is the key. However, if you go to the link of PPF you will see some amazing work and it's wonderful to be amongst it. I am also honnored to have two more followers Sheleen & Zoe I have been visiting Zoe for a long time she is a wonderful crafter and Sheleen is a brand new friend I am so happy you have decided to follow my journey here. Love Dawn xx

March Journal Calender

Yes FINALLY! it's March. So here come the light nights and warm weather (I hope) I really loved this page when I made it. The trouble is, although I used a very fine glitter paper to create the spaces for the DOTW They are going to be a night mare to draw on. I am totally proud of the whole look though ha ha.

Here's a close up so you can see the glimmer mists and the glitter. When I thought about March I thought about Spring and then I thought about the fairies so I had to include them. Dreading writing on it but hey ho I have learnt a lesson here and I wont make the same mistake again now will I? I am also linking this to The Kathryn Wheel each month we are sharing our pages. and so there is always lots of inspiration from every one who joins in. So if you would like to journal but never had a go, or you want some ideas why not pop along.

I have also started a journal of my very own. This is a sketch book I have covered it already and I intend on putting my own bits of Art in there, It's quite exciting actually ;0). Hope your week is going really well and Thank you for your comments as always, I have found some great blogs through them and I have now updated my blog list acordingly why not try a new blog? But don't forget to always say hi from me too! Love Dawn xx

Another book mark?

At the lovely group 'the artist nest' we are making Book Marks with the title 'Whimsical Houses' and here is mine. A little different than what could be considered my normal style (if I indeed have one?) This bookmark uses all sorts of mediums. Paint, watercolour, pencils and ink! I am not the best drawer in the world (not by a long chalk) but I have to admit this was really fun to do! I did the inside too (I still can't believe I did this).

This is where my ink pen came out and I decided to draw the whole of the inside, very whimsical I think! lol.

Now to all you lucky people who saw Tim at 'Art from the heart' I hope you really enjoyed your time with Tim. I was at AFTH Wed. and bought some of Tims brand new CHA 2011 stamps and I saw Mario, (must be way cold here for him, as there was no sign of his knees (well known for only ever wearing shorts) and I could here tim, he was hiding away in the back some where. Oh well next time I may have the money and be quick enough to get one of those golden tickets. So I am looking to live through those who were able to go so I want to see what you got up to to let me know. Love Dawn xx

A tag & challenges

A very late good evening to you. I have to get this up now as the CCC#30 is almost at dead line and I really wanted to enter this week. I am also entering in to the Stamp Smith as their challenge is royalty. I have used the technique on page 48 for Linda's Tim challenge. And with Simon Say's Stamp & show it's all about embossing (the back ground is all embossed) and highlighted with rub on paint.

This is a real cracking set from the Stamp Smith as there all rock legends, which also include Jimmy Hendrix and Janis Joplin. I can see these stamps coming handy for the men in my life. And the images all come in two sizes, which is handy. I have also incorporated the Andy Wahol design. Did you know that Jim Morrison met Andy Warhol, He gave Jim a gold telephone and told him he could speak to God, Jim took the phone drunk out of the building and gave it to a passer by lol.  I hope you like the tag and have a look at the challenge blogs I am joining in. I am joining in. Enjoy what's left of the week end. Love Dawn xx

Twinchie

Hello wasn't it sunny again on Monday I created a few things I was really steaming a head ;-) which was wonderful. Yep it's Sir Stampalot 'Blossoms & Butterfly's' (number 4 for me) pop over for more info I won't bore you again. The 2nd is SCD They are celebrating their First Year  and going back to where they started so this celabration month will be 'Twinchies' and this week is 'flowers' the first week was butterfly's but I missed it so what a great a  great combo i'll but both together ;0)

Here is the close up. It's some eco friendly stamp board (cheaper than the normal stuff). It' began life plain white. So I had to make some differences, I used a few DIs, some stamps and some of my FP (see previous post) and this is also A bit of a hint to tomorrow's post! if any of you play WOYWW with Julia with the rest of blog land lol there is something special happening tomorrow so make sure you pop back here to see where this Twinchie fits in! Love Dawn xx

And I am going to enter this into a challenge  Alter it monthly This month the theme is 'Tin Pan Ally' so any metal pop over for all the details. So you can see why I had to add these two little things I am off out for the day so see you all tomorrow. love Dawn xx
