Storage for alcohol inks ;0)

Hello, I hope to find you well (if not dry) the wet weather here is so bad, so if you don't really have to go out stay in and craft as well as keeping nice & warm ;0) This is a lovely size box and I have been looking for some more storage so I spent the evening last night playing with foil, alcohol inks and paper amongst other things and this is what I turned this little box into.

Some sticky foil and some alcohol inks made the bottom part of the box, then I put some of my Alcohol Inks (AI) all over the side. I really love playing with AI on all sorts of materials like glossy card stock, card board, frames and it's super fun to use on metal of all types. I keep my earth tones and metallic's in this one.  This will make for much easier use when I want to play. All I need to do now is just take this or the other box out of the cupboard. Love it.

And for this part of the box I used scraps of paper. I cut it narrow so the black box would be the boarder and then added a few images here and there (not all are shown) But I love the finished box. I have my lights and brights in this one, I have to say I love the Watermelon colour I think I use this the most, do you have a fave AI colour? let me know. Domino Book

Morning, see the sunshine in my pics ;0) it's been so lovely the weather the last few days and looks like it's here to stay over the bank holiday week end to. ;0) So I have been crafting through the night so not to miss the glorious sun. I found this little idea on Terri's Blog, she in turn however, found it on Holly's Blog she has also popped a TUT on as well. I couldn't resist so I made a couple and both ladies said it was addictive lol I am inclined to agree, I was up until 5am because I had to finish them lol.

Here we have the blue one opened (this was my first) and the back. I used DIs China & Tumbled I love the colours but it was alcohol inks for the domino's Stream & Pearl. Each tiny page is distressed and I love how it turned out just with stamps & inks.

And, as I was warned, it was addictive so I made another. Only this time I took a lot more time over it. You can enlarge the pages if you like on all the photos. I have used a lot of lovely images from the Graphic Fairy I will be listing this there for Brag Monday. I will also be putting this in to the wonderful challenge that is SSS&S A Tim Holtz technique. Alcohol inks on a none porous surface is one, distressing the edges is another. I hope you like these Domino Books I really enjoyed making them even if I am dead tired now after only three hours sleep ha ha. Tags for challenges

Hello, I had the best week end away. I went to the Great Northern Paper craft Extravaganzer GNPE. There were some wonderful stalls there. I was only disappointed that there were no make and takes going on. Having watched Tim on CHA and many others they all do demos of there products, some do make and takes. But there were no makes and takes and a few were doing some examples of making things but not at all what I thought these shows were all about. It was just like having lots of shops to go looking around and spend lots of pennies. Although I ended up with three bags full of stuff, I was only there two hours and I had planned for it to be a whole day. It was very popular and it was crushing how many were there. So that over with harrogate was the place to be had a lovely time lunch in the sun and Tapas for the evening meal. B&B and then church and  then a wonderful vintage fair (things to die for and I just had to make a few purchases ;0). So waffle over with that was my weekend, if you were even interested ha ha.

The Tags, well I have done this for Gingersnap Creations I really had a lot of fun making this. For the Bkgrd I used some paper towels I had been mopping up my journals with. I found a type writer font on the freebie Da Font in my side. I punched them out and covered with glossy accents some distress EP on the key along with some AIs first to give it age, the paper is G45 and that's about that. 

This tag is for a challenge over at Bella Creations Unique Challenges. Create a spot light of colour. I decided rather that just punch out a circle as you would normally I would print the stamp of Alice's Rabbit (looks more like a hair in the book illustrations) then stamp another image and colour his jacked and then glue it on top of the original image. Then I was going to do the same with Alice and I thought I would just colour a little directly on her dress of the first image. there is plenty of time to join in both of these challenges if you would like to have a go. Colourful card.

It's very late hence the poor quality of the photos. This is for the challenge over at The Play Date Cafe. I couldn't say no to this colour combo I really like it. (although it's lovely and bright IRL) Although it looks simple so much time has gone into this card. I made a promise to my self this week to use some of the many DP I have bought over the years. So here are some Stampin' Up! papers. I much prefer to use mix media to make my own back grounds now but there was a time I would always use DP. I am also hoping to get some 12 x 12 LOs going soon (been saying this since Jan.)  that will get rid of a few lol.

You may recognise the frame? I have moulded one of Tims and used some Friendly Plastic to fill the mould I made. The Eiffel tower I have made before I love that mould (bought) then there are the flowers lots of Alcohol Ink then  a stamp and cut out to stick on a card, tag or what ever, feel free to enlarge to get more detail. Altered Coaster

Hello again it's still Monday. Both winners have contacted me, I am so pleased your both happy with your win. I am also back with a crafty piece for you. I really enjoyed the technique  for the back ground for this so Much so I am joining a fat book swap over at My Art Friends And I will be sharing this technique for the back ground. This is a great group with lots of wonderful things to share. This month we're looking for the first 40 people to join in and select a technique and we are going to have a large page x40. So lots to do as each page is original (not a copy) just imagine though 40 pages coming back your way each with a different technique with the instructions on the back. I have to say last time I looked (this morning) there were only eight places left. But if you miss out not to worry there are lots of other things for inspiration.

Here is a close up, I really like the torso, there from Wendy Vecchi Art Parts 'dress forms and more'. I got mine from Art from the Heart and there are so many variations to. I love them so thick will not buckle with paint spays etc I hope you like this. I love it!

I also thought I would share this, another technique with alcohol ink I have yet to perfect it. But I am liking it so far ha ha. This is packaging which I have stamped with stazon ink cut out then later I have placed AI on the back I painted it on and got lots of control however the colour was very diluted. So I have suffered the lack of control to get the intense colour. Then I have used my heat gut to melt the plastic so I could mould the wings. Have a go and let me know how you improve as I am sure you can. And so now in to my third year of blogging Love Dawn xx

ATC folder & some ATCs

This is the 2nd post of the day so please have a look at the previous post, thank you. I was busy this week end making ATC folders. Never done this before, but there is a tutorial by the lovely Sandi in the group called Bella Creations They have a long list of various types of craft groups and any one can join. It's a really nice place to be and friendly or I wouldn't mention them would I? ;0) The first ATC folder with 3 ATCs has a French theme, you know I love anything French (vintage especially) yummy. And the second one is a steam punk one. I just bought these steam punk images from the lovely June She is a lovely lady &  has a wonderful friendly service with some wonderful images for sale.

I have only included 3x ATC in each folder, however it holds six. Do you like the French one? I am giving this away to the first follower who asks for it. I'll post it any where.

And another couple of quick ATCs made with the mini (not available any where in the world except QVC) Tim Holtz stamps which are now SOLD OUT! I love the alcohol inks and like working with them, so much so I already had the ones in the kit from QVC but to have all these stamps in mini was just to hard to resist but there was some lovely glossy cards stock (never can have to much) when your playing with alcohol. and some sticky metal and shrink plastic. GSC exchange.

So It should be the last day of Feb and Monday morning as I have set this for schedule. I hope the weather is OK with you and you have had a plesant week end. I made these for the currant GSC Exchange I had to join in. I have lots of these mats and an excuse to get creative with them seemed an ideal way to spend a day lol

Here they are all individually so you can see the details better. The only restriction was that all were individual and had hearts on, oh and the size. I will send these off and get four individual ones back in return. Anything else goes so I may make some more for my self, great for putting on the cover of a book or card and ready when you want them. There are lots of examples to wet your appetite so why not pop along and have a look on the GSC Exchange post for some more ideas. Love Dawn xx

Canvass 8x8

Morning, hope you are well. Thank you for the comments you have left over the last couple of days, I really appreciate you taking the time to leave me a message. If I haven't all ready been to your blog yet I will get round to having a look at what you have been creating. So I thought I would carry on with the canvasses as I really enjoyed making the back grounds and couldn't wait to get something on the space.

I think I have gone all steampunk! I was going to put so much more stuff on but it just looked crowded so I stuck with the ATC I made and just a couple of extras. Love this new stamp from crafty individuals. The paints I used are Dylusions from AFTH just click the link. So what crafty items have you been making? let me know I would love to stop by. ATCs with perfect pearls

Hello all, and a very good morning to you this wet and grey Wednesday. I am not despondent about the weather today as it means I can craft for a few hours to day. I thought I would show you some of what I have been up to in my absence. I am going to enter this ATC in to the lovely Linda's CCC I love the Tim Challenges from this book and we're on page 56 this week so open your book and have a go. Tim was on QVC most of the day yesterday did any one catch the TSV pack of his? yes me too and I also got the Vagabond before it sold out so I have huge pressies on the way can't wait to share them with you. You can't see very well but I have used one of Tim's new stamp sets from CHA called 'ADVERTS' these are going to be fantastic for so many mix media projects as well as tons of other stuff. I was concentrating on getting the shine of the PPs though.

Here is another ATC same Perfect Pearls PP used on the chandelier, this time you can see the image but not the shine. I am really happy with the back grounds on these ATCs I didn't want to add to much, as I wanted some of the focus to be on the back ground. I love your comments and thoughts. Love Dawn xx

ATC Loved up!

Afternoon and I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. I have missed making my ATCs . So I thought I would have a go at making a couple and these will also come in handy for Feb. to put on a card, what do you think?

I love playing with the bottle tops, don't know why but the glossy accents didn't dry clear this time. You can click on the photos to have a look in more detail if you like. You know how I love the Paris/ French theme it's here again ha ha. How did I do it? The bottle top is crushed coloured with alcohol inks and then I take an image or text punch it out and then add it and I placed it in the middle of this wonderful butterfly and some stickles really high lights the points I wanted to really well.

The main stamps are Eco stamps very RECYCLE conscious at the moment well I even used bottle tops and pain chips too! lol The stamps are super to work with and are available from The Altered Element  in fact you can find quite a few Eco products here, go have a nosey if you like :0). This is really a very simple ATC but I do love to high light things some times and just re stamping the image and punching it out to add  spot light pieces works really well I think. SCD Colour theme 'Colours green & purple'

Yay it's Friday again. I don't know if to cheer or scream in horror at just how fast we are getting through October already! The lovely Something Completely Different team have done it again this may seem an odd colour combination but this was a real tweet for me ;0) and I decided to make a 'twinchie' For those of you who don't know is a small piece of art 2x2 you can also have inchies and trinchies 1x1 and 3x3 respectively. If you haven't done this before why not try to work on this smaller area and see what you can come up with. You can use these small works of art at a later date to add to cards, ATCs and LOs just to name a few if you have a go let me know, I would love to see what you come up with ;0)

 

Here is my close up. I cut some glossy paper and swiped with DI then I added a few Alcohol inks allowed to dry. Then cut out an image and put some silicone glue (SG) on the back to give lift.  Surrounded the edges with stickles and then wrote on the button with permanent marker put some thread through and then stuck the button to the twinchie and your done! I hope you will join in, you all really seemed to enjoy the the Autumn colours last week and it was really nice to see so many of you and a joy to see all the different projects you shared. 3D Grunge Letter A

Good Morning, How's your week end Going? I am enjoying the warmth I can tell you. I have made a special piece, called 'I Love Craft'. I have had these paper mache 3D letters for a while and I have finally decided to decorate them. This is the first one and I have gone for the grunge look.

I am also using this for a challenge over at Linda's, She is doing a Tim Holtz Challenge again and this week it's on page 44 Of the CCs, Chipped Enamel.  GSC challenge is 3D so I figure this covers it ;0) SSS&S is Layers and there are lots of layer's of paper glue Distress powder etc ;0) Play Date Cafe is a colour challenge and the colours are on the DP paper (although I admit they are not really main colours but I have missed playing). And finally, at The Shabby Tea Room it's Old meets new. I have used an old letter & image, that I've had for ages with some new design papers. 

There are quite a few details. I have used lots of lovely things and I look forward to making my next letter. I think every thing is pretty self explanatory Apart from the bottle cap. I filled this with an image I stamped & inked put some seed beads in, then filled with Glossy accents when dry I also put alcohol inks all over the back (not that you can see that but when I made t I didn't know what I would use if for lol. The metal 'inspire' is a button covered with paint then wiped off. Grunge paper using a TH Die Cut some shaped board and plenty of inks, both distress and alcohol and some really lovely DPs. SCD Torso's Bling

Well  another month is here with SCD and this month is going to be 'TORSO' and this week will be 'Bling' now your torso has to be the same size as an ATC as we will be doing a swap at the end of the month, isn't that fun? More about this later in the month. Now I visited some great tags last month and some really cleaver views on our weekly titles. I do hope your going to play this month too! We're nothing with out your participation.

So here is my Torso, You all know I love anything Paris related  and in my mind Paris is all the bling you will ever need lol so here it is. I have took some fragments and one I have added Alcohol inks to, I like the focal point it makes. The other fragment has Stickles (diamond) under it to make a blingy focal point at the top of the Eiffel Tower. I have also taken some distress stickles (more subdude) and used this at certain joints in the tower.

I think you can see the sparkle better in this CU shot. I have taken an image from the Graphics Fairy, and cut it out to fit the torso ATC I have used some inks to distress as well as some stickles etc and I stamped Paris on there too. I was going to add some swirls as well but I managed to stop my self ;0) Some times you can put too much on a project can't you? Compedium of Curiosites week 7

I hope your all having a fabby weekend. Oh I had fun making this. It's for Linda's Challenge 7  tinted vision fragments. On page 55 I didn't have any fragments so I have improvised with this gorgeous eye glass.

Here's a close up. Very simple to make actually.  Some Stamp board then distress inks and then a darker colour for the french script stamp a few pearls and a wee bit of ribbon and all other details are in Tim Holts latest book Compendium of Curiosites. The image is just wonderful and I really went for the vintage look on this twinchie, sorry I wasn't round much last week but I hope to put a change to that this week I already have a few projects on the go so pop back soon. 

 

Oh I just had to share this little buy with you, what do you think? I fell in love with it at this antique place we goto every so often. Hubby wants to restore it,  can't blame him actually it's in really good working order just a bit rusty. It brought back lots of memories back for him ;0) However, I have other plans for it. Can you guess? I am sure you can, I have seen old fashiond bikes painted and made in to a garden feacher. I want to put this in the front garden, it's very small but it has a beautiful cherry tree in it which  planted when we moved in eleven yrs ago so it's getting kind big ha ha but great cherrys every year. I'm waffeling again ;0) I wanted to ask for suggestions actually, my front door is red so 

1. first do I paint it at all?
2. if I do paint it what colour?

We were in Chester not long ago and I saw some bright yellow, they looked amazing, but I am stuck as to what to do now. I want to add a basket and pop some yummy flowers in. Hubby is ok with it as a garden feacher bless him. So what do I do? let me know your thoughts. Love Dawn xx

The secret is out! I am a DT member for SCD YAY!!!

You can not imagine how happy I was to be asked to join this talented bunch of ladies to play. And you can't believe how hard it was not to tell any one. I read the e-mail at least three times to make sure they were asking me to be on the team. As I have been a GDT member a few times before (and loved it)I thought how nice it would be for this to be my first full time DT roll as I have been playing and being inspired to do new things (inchies twinchies etc) with these ladies for ages and now I am one of them, little ol' me YAY! So I have been playing with all sorts to make my 1st appearance a good one (I hope). Now for July it's tags and every week a different theme so do join in if you can xx.

So Laura's theme over at SCD for this week is 'Are you sitting comfortably?' I can tell you I was a wee bit scared, my first go and I thought what on earth am I going to do? I kept thinking of the iconic saying, I'm sure it's watch with mother, and I also kept thinking of story time, so I made a very comfy if not very extravagant chair  ha ha for some one to read a beautiful story to me. I do hope you like it. Please be sure to visit the SCD challenge site for ideas from all the other wonderful Design Team I am sure you will find plenty to inspire you. I do hope you can join in and play with tags with us this month as I would love to pop round and see what you have come up with.

OK, how did I create it? well, first I used lots of blue alcohol inks on some glossy CS then stamped this beautiful chair on  it and cut it out. Then with some scraps of fleecy material I cut to size then stamped it with some stazon to make my nice comfy chair. I then got some Co'Ordinations CS sanded it a little and added some delicate, almost luminous lace and some beautiful blue lace for the actual holder/attach bit. A TH ticket inked up with some DIs and finally a clock face so you have the tile 'STORY TIME' clever eh?  I hope you like my very first appearance at Something Completely Different I am really quite nervous. More Tea cups and an Inchie

Do you love it? This is my every day tea set there were 2x mugs 4x tea cup 4x side plate 4x dinner plate  (but no saucers) so what is the saucer I can see then? you ask, well I bought 6x plain while china saucers with a gold plate trim They are a little big I think for the cup but better than none at all and they were onlyr 50p for 6x and I think they go well with the cups don't you? The best of this was the price! all you can see plus the dinner, side plates and cups & saucers you can't see £5.50 from a charity shop, I  know cool isn't it? Now this may be my last showing for some time as it seems I have bought all the charity goodies ;0) as I haven't seen any for a while, well not ones I wanted to buy any way ;0) These are all English china made by Mayfair. I can't find the photo of the bottom of the cup (sorry) I have to say this is a wonderful Tea pot it pours beautifully and has a wonderful spout I hope you like my share and I will pop round to see yours soon and even if I can't post for a while until I get some more yummy Tea cups for you to see, I will still be here to swoon over your wonderful goodies I love Tea Cup Tuesday.

Now a 'Little craft' ha ha This is an inchie, I had lots of goes with the alcohol inks yesterday and so I thought I would just add this little fishy to go with the challenge over on Small world of Inchies (SWOI) I love inchies I haven't made any for a while so here is my fishy for this lovely little challenge.
