Dragonfly's

We have had the sun shine out for a day or two in the NW of the UK and it's been a blessing I can tell you :). it made me feel all Spring like *smiles* so I  made this PC spraying the back ground with tattered angels sprays left to dry.

Then, I got out some stamps (stampin up very old) and distress inks, in various colours and stamped all over the back ground, many times until I got a look of a field of wild flowers. I created a feeling of distance to for ground, light colours that can be barely seen & using darker colours for the closer flowers.

I stamped the dragon fly's on three types of card, embossed for the body of one, plain card stock for the body of another and finally some scrap card which was covered in sparkly tattered angels sprays for the wings, This card is very glittery but I wasn't out in the sunshine when taking photos (it didn't turn out well so in the house I went. I hope you like the feeling of Spring. I may add a sentiment along there as well, I just have to find the right one. Thanks for looking Dxx

Book Marks!

Morning, I hope your week has been a good one and now it's Friday yay! I have been making book marks again, with one of the groups I belong to as well as a new site I found called Inkurable Stampers. Both want to see bookmarks. With the title of SPRING in my thoughts, and inchies these are the little creations I came up with.

There are a few techniques used in both BMs This looks a little more Autumnal, I think it's because of the brown, this is the first one I made, so on the next one I went all pastels lol. I hope you like them don't for get about the Give away it's a sticky at the top of the blog, it's not every day some one gives a cuttlebug away so hurry and have a look. Love Dawn xx

March Journal Calender

Yes FINALLY! it's March. So here come the light nights and warm weather (I hope) I really loved this page when I made it. The trouble is, although I used a very fine glitter paper to create the spaces for the DOTW They are going to be a night mare to draw on. I am totally proud of the whole look though ha ha.

Here's a close up so you can see the glimmer mists and the glitter. When I thought about March I thought about Spring and then I thought about the fairies so I had to include them. Dreading writing on it but hey ho I have learnt a lesson here and I wont make the same mistake again now will I? I am also linking this to The Kathryn Wheel each month we are sharing our pages. and so there is always lots of inspiration from every one who joins in. So if you would like to journal but never had a go, or you want some ideas why not pop along.

I have also started a journal of my very own. This is a sketch book I have covered it already and I intend on putting my own bits of Art in there, It's quite exciting actually ;0). Hope your week is going really well and Thank you for your comments as always, I have found some great blogs through them and I have now updated my blog list acordingly why not try a new blog? But don't forget to always say hi from me too! Love Dawn xx

Hurry up Spring

Good morning, it's Friday woo hoo. Please hurry Spring, I need SUN and warmth, oh and some good light to take my photos. Any way, ;0) I had a wonderful Anniversary, thank you all for your well wishes. Isn't it nice when people in blog land make you smile whether it's there art or just because there all such lovely people. Thanks again. Now I made time yesterday to make a few things (loving my new regime so much more time to do stuff) Any way I thought I would make a few tags. With Spring in mind and longing for the trees to be green the birds and flowers to bring scent and sound to my garden, I made this.

Here is a CU. lovely tag size  (using one of Tim's Alterations from sizzix) I put some inks all over the white card, then couple of darker shades of green I stamped lots of busy busy bees. I then stamped the image on the tag then again on some card to create a coloured and layered look. Cutting round those tiny birds was hard. I do like how the bees show through the cage part of the manikin though don't you? I used some copics to colour the image (just a light look). I hope you like this, I really enjoyed taking my time to make it. Love Dawn xx

My first Match box (spring)

Hello blog land. The sun is out here hope it's nice for you where ever you are. This is my very 1st Match Box I bought four. I have been waiting forever for mine but I don't use them that much (the odd candle) I'll tell you more about my MB in a wee while first let's use it for some challenges he he. Alter it Monthly (AIM) is a new challenge blog and this is the first one.  The title says it all. Every month there will be something to alter, this month it's a 'Match box' Allsorts  is no DPs, none on this any where! I am also using this for the Play Date Cafe (PDC) as always a lovely colour challenge. All DTs are wonderful please pop over for full details of requirements.

To make this MB I got three alcohol inks two blues and a pearl I used the blues first and some blending solution then when dry applied the pearl, gives it a lovely shimmer. I have covered the top of the matchbox with acitate and stamped with stazon. inside the MB is some material and a daffodil.

I think the DT for matchbox alteration have done a far better job than myself but I just wanted to have a little play and see what I could dome up with in a morning. I hope you like this altered art and I hope you have a go your self, please leave a comment, I would love to see what you have been up to I have many very talented followers. I also follow many talented people why not pop a long a blog you haven't been to before, it's something I like to do when I go to a blog if they have a list I love to try a new blog or too you will be amazed what you can find. Have a great day. Love Dawn xx

Days gone by (Spring)

Morning, another day closer to the heat of the SUMMER!!!! (I hope it's chucking it down here!) But for now a tag for Spring! This will cover a few challenges today. Tag It On the theme is an 'alternitive Spring' Ginger Snap Creations is to 'Take on a tutorial' Tag Tuesday is 'Stuck on collage' and Tuesday Taggers is 'Bugs' Oh and TT prize this week is with The Craft Barn Which last time I won! and have now recieved my goodies so fingers crossed you never know.

I did this tag with all these challenges in mind. TIO Alternitive Spring this is such a sweet image and not yr general daffs and eggs etc so I hope this will be OK GSC I have used a couple of tutorials. One from Tim Holtz Book 'Compendium of Curiosities this is first putting down colour Stamping/embossing over it using clear EP then adding more colour then taking off the CEP with the heat from iron. I then used one of GSC TT Image transfers here I have seen it some where before but I had forgotten all about it and it was really easy to follow great effect! You can see the 'Bug' for TT it's a dragon fly used s couple of  times in the back ground and the roses are sticky ones I have called my Tag/Collage 'Days Gone By (Spring)' as it's got that innocence of childhood, long since gone for me lol. I do hope you like my effort for today I did enjoy makng it why not try one or two  techniques that you haven't tried before on yr next project? I really enjoyed this and will be having a go at some more soon. Enjoy the rest of your day, Love Dawn xx

Oh I just want to thank kath as I had new neighbours move in a couple of days ago and I was with out a card, popping on Kath's blog as I often do I saw a great card HERE and I lifted it (of course I would never copy a persons work exactly) so mine is a wee bit different not sure it's a good as Kaths but it really got me out of a tight spot. I made it completely from scraps (again) and I hope the new neighbours like it, as soon as it was done I popped it through the letter box, thanx again Kath xxx

Tag Tuesday

Afternoon on this wonderful Sabath day. The sun is shining here and washing is out! could it be Spring is here? Well it is on my tag ;0) Tag Tuesday are asking for tags with the theme of Spring, this is a first time for me on this challenge, it's a lovely blog I have found so do go have a look, I had a look round, love what Louise has done with some botanical cards. I  decided to go out side this morning before church and photograph this tag in the bird feeder lol so it's surounded be seeds, fruit & nuts. There was also meal worms but I didn't think you would want to see them lol.

I used a template to make this tag, I used white cardstock, with some of Tim's DI all over then some of these new stamps that arrived on Saturday. The flower is made of felt and put in place with a tiny cute brad. The sentiment is also written by hand as I still can not get the computer talking to the printer, it's been months now and I am really feeling the loss of the printer with some of the challenges I can't print any thing off at all!

This is a close up of the wee bird stamped with DI and then Perfect Pears bushed over to give the sheen, I also lifted him up a little with a sponge, There are some stamps all round and some sequin waste used to make some texture for the top of the tag, finished off with some ribbon. I do hope you like the tag, if you haven't already why not enter the yummy candy I am giving away for my blogaversary I have added quite a bit more recently, I am posting World Wide and all you have to do is leave a comment and have a link with a photo from your blog to mine, and it really is lovely candy given with love to one of  my visitors old  or new for sharing this wonderful year with me. Love Dawn xx
