Journal 'What do you Love'?

Morning all, Gosh am I tired this morning I have not been feeling well, It's my turn for a horrid virus (cold sore throat runny nose) and I have had it over a week now. (that's what you get when you stop taking your Echinacea)! Any way on to love and it's in the air. Hubby and I went on a date last night. We went to see a film & had Mexican after ward very lovely night out. And he is the top of my Love list along with my children and of course God my lord and saviour. And although I thought about doing a page on all of them my creative mind wouldn't stretch that far with my blasted cold. And so it was my other little loves in the house (oops sorry Lola don't tell her she will be most upset) my lovely Cats.

And here's their close up! they deserve one doncha think? ha ha. I really wanted to get across the characters of them so I had a doodle on their photos. This was so funny made me laugh seeing them there in front of me like this lol I hope you can see the funny side too. Love Dawn xx

ATC Loved up!

Afternoon and I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. I have missed making my ATCs . So I thought I would have a go at making a couple and these will also come in handy for Feb. to put on a card, what do you think?

I love playing with the bottle tops, don't know why but the glossy accents didn't dry clear this time. You can click on the photos to have a look in more detail if you like. You know how I love the Paris/ French theme it's here again ha ha. How did I do it? The bottle top is crushed coloured with alcohol inks and then I take an image or text punch it out and then add it and I placed it in the middle of this wonderful butterfly and some stickles really high lights the points I wanted to really well.

The main stamps are Eco stamps very RECYCLE conscious at the moment well I even used bottle tops and pain chips too! lol The stamps are super to work with and are available from The Altered Element  in fact you can find quite a few Eco products here, go have a nosey if you like :0). This is really a very simple ATC but I do love to high light things some times and just re stamping the image and punching it out to add  spot light pieces works really well I think. I hope you like these and you get some crafting done this week. Love Dawn xx

Don't forget my £20 Altered Element voucher that's up for grabs for having 200 followers running until the 7th Nov. see my side bar for more details.

Altered Frame

Morning folks, I left some photos for your own use on previous post B&W and Sepia I thought you may like them for some craft projects have a look later. Now this little innocent frame above this was before I altered it. Now it has been Dawnied (see below) lol I bought 2 from the charity shop for 32p each  they both had these big flowers in which I have kept. (you never know when it will come in handy) I showed you on Wednesday WOYWW them painted  (there was also a third larger frame)I sanded them all and used a small tester of the vintage crown paints and there is still lots left! So now I have come back to show you one finished frame I hope you like it. I am using this to enter a challenge GSC theme is 'Botanical' pop along loads of inspiration from the DT as always. as well as SCD the letter they are using thios week is 'H' and there  are one or two Hearts in my project ;0) Also Sunday Stampers

I have gone all girly vintage, But I haven't given this peice a name as yet! There are a few techiques in here too! I have had a lot of fun using a new technique (more about that in a min) and using some old stash as well as some new!

Here You can see Tim Holtz yummy 'Ornate Plates' which I hate to use but what's the point of all the good stuff being in the draws and not on my art? I used some paint and one of the 'Adage tickets' inked with DI, I also got a 'Bow Easy' and it does what it says on the tin, you can see a tiny bow made with hardly any bother at all. So more bows around I think lol In the back ground you can see the lovely BG DPs but also the lace stamp I used, loving this new stamp set!

I painted a chip board Butterfly then stamped it in a contrasting colour,  I then used a metalic rub for the edges instead of ink for a change. I also used the bow easy again ;0) I also used a new mold and some friendly plastic  (all very new to me) to make the key hole. I was inspired to have a go by Lucy You can see her TT  if you click her name. I was very impressed. So I have started small but I have already made an Eiffel Tower and other things too, I may get to show these to you another time. But I am loving the versitility this new technique can give me.

I have had some of this chip board for years, it has been radically altered but it's so useful isn't it? the heart I covered with some DP and then a lovely image. I rubbed some metalic rub on round the edges, the sissors you know I already love lol I have stamped and cut them out and then highlighted with Glossy accents.

Last one, another little chip board butterfly, this time inked and then some glass glitter sprinkled all over with a couple of pins at the back, and all mounted on some foam to lift. I have had the pins so long I don't know where they're from. On the outside of the frame is a stamped image coloured with copics, love this. I have cut the stand off that is on the stamp it's really lovely, also on the frame are stamped images from the same stamp set also a yummy flower and another tiny bow. So what do you think? Love Dawn xx

Ladies In Love

Hello every one, I hope you had a wonderful break. Michael and I were in Chester for the day yesterday and boy did I get some goodies. But for now lets concentrate on these ATCs ATC swap 'till you drop It's vintage for the month of April I had to join in, I have called these ATCs 'Ladies in Love' so many posabilities but this is what I went for in the end. I do hope you like them, as always 4 are for swaps and I get to keep one. I am still waiting for last months Fairy garden inspired ones to arrive yet, something to look forward to in the post. I thought I would enter a challenge with these too. The Sunday stamper this week it 'Lace' one of these ATCs has lace on. and at SSIC The theme is love or something that symbolises love.

Here is a bit of a closer look at the top row. These were made by having an old book tearing some pages out , then using tape to stick and tear off the writing, then attaching to ATC card stock  inked, then some DP also torn and attached. They all have the same stamp on which is 'Amour' definition. Some are  inked a more tonal  colour with the paper but you can see them IRL. I also printed off the images from various places although I don't know who. When you down load there is nothing on the title to let you know where there from. However, the middle one here is from Craft Stamper as their name is on the image. The others will be from the freebie sites I recommend on my side bar.

Here are the top two closer. Every time I use the DI from Tim I love them more and more they are truly wonderful colours, especially for this kind of vintage although I do use them for everything lol. The images are truly stunning and I thank the person/persons that take the time to give these beautiful things for all us artist to use. Thank you to you, and to my visitors who are such a wonderful support to me. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:-  Stamps, Prima & ? (amour stamp) DP, Basic Grey, K&Co and other various (stash scraps) Inks, Ranger Tim Holtz. Lace, Orchard crafts, Button and gem stash. Images craft stamper, Vintagestampers freebies & various others.

This is a 'Trinchie' a 3x3 piece work of art (if on a small scale) although it was inchies last week! lol I  love this colour of DI Worn Lipstick and a bit of weatherd wood thrown in. This is for the challenge over at Something Completely Different for this month the theme is Trinchies and this week it's love & romance. You can't have Love & Romance with out Paris in my book (not at the moment any way ;0)

Final picture, awh isn't that nice swoon! I love the lace on her head dress isn't it beautiful? So how did I make it? OK I distressed the white card in two colours, then with the same colour stamped some chandeliers as a Back ground, then, change of ink and stamped some more, the rest is self explanitory I think! if you have any questions you know you can ask, no wories.  Thanx for visiting. Love Dawn xx

I have entiltled it 'Lost Love' And I have been looking at some of the entries and they are wonderful so pop round a few new blogs if you have the time some wonderful stuff worth looking at!

Any one recgognise my inchie making an appearence? lol I may even make a card from this ATC. I have some very glittery ribbon and pleated it, stapled it in the middle and popped it on this sweet photo from CI, she looks so French I thought she would fit in with the title I came up with she looks kinda sad, wistful almost.

One more close up! and that's your lot ;0). Have you noticed I have used the negitive hearts from the left over punch to look like the love is floating away like confette! Ok you must of had enough of me today as this is my second post, well I already sheduled one for tommorow and I really wanted to share this with you too. Love Dawn xx

Love is in the air!

Hello blog land, I hope I find you all well today. I have been getting messy and I LOVE the results. I had so much fun making this I really felt creative and I hope you like it half as much as I do.

I am really hoping Hubby and I can get to Paris this year so I am doing lots of things that remind me of France. Here is the first close up. The back ground, I hope you notice is a French book (I bought from a second had book shop) for a £1 I tore strips up then got some PVA glue added some water and started to paste it on this lovely canvass from Crafty Individuals.

The gold items are from a pkt of buttons I thought they went really well with the French theme. I stamped some images with Tim Holtz (TH) distress ink (DI) then embossed with some more gold EP on top of the tea DI only in highlighted places, to give a haphazard look.

There has been lots of distressing done to the papers with the DI. Some chip board that I no longer recognize have been altered beyond all description lol

I do hope you like this I have decided to enter it for a challenge with BTC & G whose theme this month is LOVE. Also the Allsorts challenge is destress with buttons & bow , the gold items are buttons (although not a typical ones) and bow well my handsome fello is wearing one will that count? I don't know I hope so, as I forgot to put my burgandy little bow in the corner B4 photographing. Simon Says theme is also LOVE. Speaking of loveTuesday Taggers is also love is all around, so I am popping this into there challenge too! Also I am sure there are lots more challenges I could enter this in for as love is a great theme but this will have to do. Thank you for looking. Love Dawn xx
