What a mess!

WOYWW 100 WOW! What does this mean, you ask? Well it means that over at Julia's every one has a nosey at your desk to see what you have been up to. And the pictures above mean it's really time I had a tidy up (click on them to make them larger) ;0) but I love to see messy desks (or what ever your working on) because this shows your actually making something and that I am not the only messy crafter out there ha ha. I have got a wee bit messy lately. It doesn't help when trying to do more that one thing at a time. Any way this little swap is finished and on the way to my dear friend. I will have to take some picks of what she sent me, so yummy.

More of that next time. Now this is a little key ring I made with a vintage lace, photo and some grunge paper. Think I like it. It's really growing on me the more I look at it.

Now you can see the charm, bead & lace more clearly. I was popping all over yesterday to blogs that had left a comment, and what fun it was I love my china you know and I have bought some more recently so I hope to share some more next Tuesday. Thank you for all your lovely comments, I love to read them all. Well I will say I do hope you have a lovely day and hope to see you soon with some more goodies ;0) Love Dawn xx

WOYWW 96 & tags

So here we are again, WOYWW with Julia. It's nice to go and see peoples desks and get a few sneaky peaks of what people have on the go. Here, I have a few things going, a journal page, (which will be posted on my new blog) Journal Journey's soon. Some more tags, (see below) some new stamps and gems. If your new to my blog, thanks for visiting, I hope you come back another day.

Above are two tags I will be placing in my folksy shop for sale (link in the left hand side bar) I received some lovely stickers as gift a while ago and decided that these would look lovely as tags. Some people adore and collect these dolls (I am not one of them though) lol. However, saying that I am really pleased with the overall effect, and I hope you are too.

This one is for a friend in blogland and already on it's way, I do hope she like's it. This lady loves china, in a big way ;0) and has a beautiful blog that has TC&S as well as stunning jewellery. I hope this will also appeal to her. So if your name is Martha this is on it's way to your door. With lots of love. I hope you have had fun  visiting today. Love Dawn. xx

WOYWW 94

Morning, I haven't been here for some time. Julia's WOYWW is so popular I always feel guilty not getting round to every one, but if you wanted to see my desk here it is. When I was at Harrogate (this week end) I bought a lot of things (most are away now they wouldn't fit on the table ha ha) But I love my new distress ink pad holder so spent yesterday labelling and colouring the labels, talk about procrastinate from doing other things lol but it was fun. I am doing a fat book swap as well each of us are doing a technique and then when we get it back we will have 40 techniques including instructions. mine is a shabby chic with paint and EP 15 finished so a way to go just yet lol. there is also a couple of stamp sets just peeking in one by Dyan and another from Tim. I will say thank you for stopping by and hope to see you on another day. Love Dawn xx

WOYWW 69

Well as you can see it's tme for WOYWW with Julia, my desk full of material and I am hoping to make some Guinea Pigs hammocks for a charity. We have all next month to make one and donate I think some are being sold to raise money and some are to keep the little cuties warm and playful ;0) for more information click HERE Dazie one of our fellow crafting friends helps out a lot on the charity front for rescued Guinea Pigs. So she is looking for people of all abilities to help out. They have free patterns to use you just have to provide the material and have some fun at the same time. I hope you will have a go to. I will show you my finished project fingers crossed very soon. Love Dawn xx

WOYWW 66 & some ATCs

I know I know it's Wednesday again already, we really must stop meeting like this ;0) As you can see from my desk we are now making the T to go with the A & R I made at the end of last week I may put them on the wall or just leave them on a shelf for a time as I may add a C & F to it at a later day lol so what is T gonna be mmm not to sure as yet whether it will be Travel or France, but I did get a French map for 50p at a charity shop and I knew it would come in useful. there is also an ATC to be finished some stamps lying around and that's about it. So if you want to go have a nosey at the other desks pop along to Julia's there is a link in  my side bar.

I am not sure what to do with these ATCs I am really pleased with how they came out! I am thinking of sending them off for a magazine, but I don't know that I can part with them, mmmm decisions decisions lol you want to send something good off don't you but then when you really pleased you don't know if you can part with it? ha ha. Any way, thank you for stopping by, we're half way through the week now so won't be long until week end again. Love Dawn xx

WOYWW 65

I hope you all had a wonderful Bank Holiday (in the UK) wasn't it wonderful that the sun decided to make a wonderful unexpected appearance lol and again yesterday. I got so much washing done yesterday lol actually I have been so busy with the ordinary things of life I have still yet to get in to my creative flow. Having my grandson does this lol but I wouldn't swap the valuable time I can spend with him, these moments are so precious I am sure all the grandparents out there will agree.

Any way it is that time of the week WOYWW with Julia I have missed it I can tell you not been able to get round every one now that this amazing phenomena has taken over lol. Like I said I haven't done much crafting over the last month (pretty pathetic for me) as I just love love creating. However, this hasn't stopped me purchasing things (funny that?) but it is so not me to buy and have things in bags all over. I had three bags of things not even opened (shame on me I know) however, I have emptied them all over my desk to sort them out and hopefully I will get something done today (hooray) What would you make with all these new goodies? I have had my fingers a normal colour for far too long it's time to get inky lol thank you for stopping by. Love Dawn xx

WOYWW 63

So it's Wednesday again, and it's time for a snoop round other crafty desks for ideas of storage, what people are making and just a general nosey in to other craft houses ;0) If you would like to join in please stop by Julia's for the details and all the desks to nosey by. I have had to hide a couple of things for the DT I work for so make sure you pop back on Friday and play with Something Completely Different

It's seams the favorite place for the two recent additions (our cats) happens to be my crafty space. This can be SO distracting. Dude generally stays off the table if I take him off. However, Paris thinks it's a constant game to continually jump back up and chase my cursor (so paws are all over my computer screen) and of curse anything on the table is fair game. This means I have to keep tidying up and this is not the best bit of crafting I like to do ;0)

So there you have it a fairly tidy table not so good for noseying this week but thanks for stopping by. Love Dawn xx

WOYWW 61 & Dawnies ATC swap

So it's WOYWW with Julia I have missed a few weeks, and I missed you all. But the desk isn't it's normal fairly tidy self, it's a tip! I haven't created much in the way of finished projects it's more doing lots of bits to make my art with. I have really been transferring a lot of images on to various materials this has been so much fun! but have only used one of them on an ATC which I posted yesterday if you want to have a look. There's a piece I made with my melt pot! and some Die Cuts. Some books & magazines I am reading (referring to) and some new Graphic 45 DP AIWL Halloween style really nice. Although we're not big on sending people Halloween cards etc I though some ATCs at some point would be good. Any way thanks for stopping by I will have a nosey at your desks through the day ;0)

The above ATCs are from my monthly swap with Petra The theme was French/Paris and these above are what I made and below are Petra's isn't she talented?

Now I hope you can draw some inspiration from our swap which we did in the month of June. At the end of Aug I'll show you our July swap. If you would like to create some French/Paris ATCs I would love to see what you have come up with, and I'll show some on my blog, if you have a go let me know and I'll pop by in the mean time, Have a fabby day Love Dawn xx

WOYWW 57

Afternoon every one, Thank you for all your concern over my fall, as I said though, I am just brused and sore ;0) honest I am a dosey mare! And you are all so sweet.  Looks like blogger had problems and you couldn't see my photos. Well all is back now so if you would like to pop to yesterdays post be my guest ;0) Now for this weeks desk. For more details pop along to my side bar just click the WOYWW symbol  to go to Julias blog.

Now bottom left are some fridge magnets that need some Araldite glue. I try to get a magnet from every where I go or a friend will bring me back one from there trip/hols I would love a Paris one, my son went and said he couldn't find one? There is also a new cat cup (the cup isn't new just it's position on my craft table ha ha) I have decided to keep all my paint brushes and pallet knives in. Then some beautiful serviettes from York and I have just finished my first padded hanger, I used Cath Kidson material and I love her stuff.

Here is a better photo of my hanger.  (please don't look at the weeds I just haven't been able to get out and do them) This is the first  time I have made one and I'm not that thrilled with it, although I followed the pattern I think I will alter the next one. I'd like to round the corners more and put much more padding on as well.

One last photo (the close up ;0) isn't this material wonderful? I bought some more to and thankfully I got there and there was a sale, yay instead of £18 a meter only £14 very pleased,  as her things are expensive but I love them any way. There is a running stich on the top and then it's tied off. I think I would also like to alter this too. That's the wonderful thing isn't it, if you have a basic pattern you can always add your own twist on things can't you? I was also treated to a few Birthday gifts in York lask week, which have been put away. With my memory though, I have already forgot what he bought me so it will be a surprise (I will be 41 in Sunday) past middle age now, lol ROFL And my DARLING HUSBAND  has just bought me the BEST GIFT! And I will tell you more about this most exciting gift tomorrow,  ha ha love to keep you in suspense, thank you for stopping by. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Normal hanger, Old T-Shirt for padding. Cath Kison material. and Stampin' Up! Ribbon.

WOYWW 56

Hellow fellow nosey people ha ha, hope your smiling today and feeling well. I'ts WOYWW Did you see Julia got a metion in Craft Stamper this month so how many more do you think will be joining in? So what is on my desk? some deliveries so I am gong to be altering stuff this week ;0) and can you see my book 'SEW' I have her other one 'MAKE' as well. I love these so today as the weather has perked up we are off to York  (an hour and a half drive away not bad eh?) to buy yummy material from the Cath Kisdston shop and a look round of course, loving York. So I hope to be doing some sewing some time between now and next Wednesday as well (nothing too hard though ha ha) I hope to get a look round yr desks on Friday as I will be no where near a computer if the weather holds up.

This draw has lots of ribbon and trims I bought some 'Twilight' shoe laces  yesterday they will come in handy I'm sure. This draw has lots of little bags and small boxes in side under the layers as well. All my reels of ribbon are hung up under a shelf so I have a fair bit of ribbon but I know some of you have way more than this now don't you? ;0) Ok I'm off hubby is waiting very patiently bless him. Oh welcome to another follower ;0) don't be shy leave a comment and I'll pop round and see you soon.  That goes for all of you he he. Love Dawn xx

WOYWW 55

Hello I am very late today in joining you all. Last week I didn't play because my Dita died (so sad sniff) but I said I wouldn't talk about this earlier this week as it's too depressing. So on to the wonderful WOYWW with the lovely Julia. I have been playing with my gel again and UV light, some beads and old tea spoons. You may also notice my new toy arrived today oh goodie (this is a very early B'day gift from hubby as it's not until July and I can have it now so cool ) my melt pot!

Here is a close up of the gel I use (I only mention this as quite a few asked about this when I made my bird shrine) Here It sets like glass. Only it's now so sunny here I have turned off the UV and put them out side. On the left you can see an oval pendant with beads hanging. from it. It is now a magnet! (steampunk style!) this will be in a later post!

I am also keeping my promise and showing you another draw, this has so many bits in it from scrabble tiles, moulds to butterflys to watch parts etc so much cool stuff in here enlarge pictures to have a closer look if you like. I am going to try and get round a few desks now but the sun and the melt post along with a very long sewing list is also clamoring for my attention ha ha. I also have another new follower yay! and she is lovely as all of you are.  Thank you for your continued support and wonderful bloggy comments. Love Dawn xx

WOYWW 53 and some sewing!

Good morning, Hasn't the weather in the UK been Awful? well it has where I live the rain didn't take a breath yesterday at all! I am up before Julia this morning, and there is blue skyes which is lovely, we wanted to go to the zoo yesterday but I was not having a good day and the weather was horrendous anyway, but looks like a good day to go but I have the hospital in the afternoon so that kibosh's that idea maybe tomorrow before the little man has to go home. Well Hubby was so tired after yesterday I managed to get up with James at 6am. This is not un-known for me as my sleep patterns are some what irregular. I have an appointment at the hospital this afternoon (more questions and tests I assume) Any way,  I haven't been round the tea cups from yesterday (haven't had time) but I will over the weekend, I love looking at them and some ladies make such an effort (they have a proper English Tea ready for your visit) so sweet. So although I haven't been blog hopping I did get time to take a photo or two this morning While James was eating his crumpets.

Now my desk! Rather empty isn't it? That is because I was too poorly or busy with Grand son to do anything. And he is now happily brayering the table sat on my knee babbling away (so cute!) so I have to hurry. Oh if you want to know more or have a look at lots of other more productive desks ha ha then pop along to Julia's

This is one of my cupboard's with lots of inner draws. Each one has different things in I really would like a better system but this is all I have at the moment unless I can get alot more shelves! So here goes (sorry it's a wee bit blurred!

This as you maybe able to tell is my 'Punch Draw' and also some  more that I have on a shelf! now you can click on these to have a good nosey most are Stampin' Up! and Marther Stewart I find them the most reliable. I am sure many of you have far more than this I also have a few nesties but they are in another draw! for another day lol.

Now over the weekend, I bought a pattern and some beautiful material I have been wanting to make a bag for ages, it had to be a simple one though! now on the pattern this didn't have a lining so I improvised and added one! I am so not the best machinist but I have created the odd garment etc so here you go!

Shawn my middle son took this photo I managed to do some clever editing and cut all of me out of the photo ha ha I even messed with the colour a bit so I look like I have a nice tan (my arms and legs are like milk bottles ;0)  me and computers don't mix so this is a huge achievement which I am pleased with (there is hope for the old girl yet!) I said it was a simple one I made this complete from start to finish on Sunday after church. I hope you like this today and It will be a while but I hope to get round a few WOYWWers later this evening and probably over the weekend too! Now I do hope you like my sharing time and I do hope to get some thing done later this evening when little man goes to sleep (I have a list as long as your arm of things to do!) Thank you all for your get well wishes, (I get used to this it's a way of life now for me) but I thankyou for your prayers and understanding. Love Dawn xx

Items Used:- Pattern Simplicity 2830 BIN 10 (£3.89) Material No Not Cath Kidson but from hobby craft £10.99 a meter and the lining was (£6.99) a meter. So no it wasn't a cheap make and I don't think I could sell them and make my fortune lol but I hope the infor is helpful Dawn xx

WOYWW 52

I have really been looking forward to this day, so bare with me this is a long post. I am so pleased about this weeks WOYWW not so much to show off my WOYWW 52 but to see all your creations, we all know how addictive this Wednesday is now and I am just as addicted as the next one I can tell you lol. Having seen your desks etc I know there are going to be some fantastic examples and it is going to be so hard to pick a winner (kinda glad I am not judging I can tell you) so good luck to all of you. I have no idea what the prize is but I am sure it will be worth it and I really did enjoy every Minuit of making this.

Now there are lot's of details in this piece and so lots of photos so stick with me here, hope you have a brew! I am going to use this for Sir Stampalot which this month is 'Punch'  A great Prize as always but so gutted I missed out on the Tim Holtz last month, anyway. This is a bottle top. I squashed it and the covered it in alcohol inks all over/ then I 'punched' out a cute photo from Crafty individual book, then I went round the out side with stickles glitter glue. I then put lots of glass seed beads in and coated the whole lot with glossy accents and left it to dry over night. I really enjoy making these I have done a few now, they make wonderful necklace or put on a bracelet to mention just a few.

Next some stamps from Crafty Secrets, I really love this stamp set. I have stamped one on a paint chip from B&Q great freebies to use. And the other I stamped on some white card stock and cut is out I added the bingo counter with 26 I though I bet that was the average waist size lol (not for me I hasten to add).

Now I love this white frame from Melissa Frances. I stamped directly in to the background with a stamp from Paper Doll Art, then I put the frame on the top. You can also see yesterdays Twinchie (this was my little sneak peek for today) all the detail for that is in last weeks post.

There it is! the acronym we had to include. Now this is made with a mini domino covered in alcohol inks I tried a few things to put the letters on and in the end I used a permanent marker and did it my self I love it!

This is a die cut using the fabby Tim Holtz (TH) ticket die cut. Covered  in TH distress ink (DI) then stamped with a freebie stamp from the Craft Stamper. I have a wee fairy on the frame too so cute!

This is some TH grunge board, with a butmterfly stamp form Laura Ashley. And this is a die cut also from TH alteration collection with some crafty individual paper. sorry this one is a bit blured.

I should also tell you that this frame has also been altered it was one of the frames on my WOYWW 46 you can click to go back to get all the details of how I did this and the paints I used etc. if you like, that is if your still with me  lol. I said it was a long post ;0)Told you this fairy was a cutie didn't I. OK almost done now.

I thought you may also like to have a closer look at this. I showed you some buys I got very cheaply (4 of these clock faces for 50p) so I am using one ,well it was pink and so perfect to go in the center of my Making Memories ribbon., made with a bow maker (these are so good to have in your stash aren't they? )Now you can go back to the begining as I haven't done close ups of everything ;0)have a good look around. The reason I made this is, I thought WOYWW was a great way to make new friends and get new ideas etc but I thought this little frame kinda encompassed all the things that have been or are usually on my desk at some point. Some you have seen over the last few weeks and now I have used them for this wonderful project. Now if you have read all this  (thank you so much) you may as well leave a comment and allow me to stop by your blog too. I would love to see what you have been up to as well. I do hope you like this frame/shadow box. I had a lot of fun making it and I am now going to look at all your amazing work and see what you have been up to good luck every one. Love Dawn xx

WOYWW 51

Are you all excited for next weeks reveal. Yes it's another WOYWW with the lovely Julia. I know I can't wait to see what you have all been creating but on to to days little peek!

As you can see not much going on! this is because of the little boy in the top left (grandson James) we haven't seen him for about a month and he has changed so much in that time. Now 18 months old he is so funny and learning about boundaries in Grandmas house ;0) He's a very quick learner lol. Onto the desk! can you see the lush new ribbon that has arrived from America. (the postage was almost as exp, as the ribbon!) I won't be doing that often but  did have to have some and I am so glad I did it's very yummy!

Thought I would give you a little peek in to another draw, this is my brad draw! and this is only the top layer!

A little close up for you I have moved a few so you can see a wee bit more, and yet there is more underneath this! so you can see I have  few brads/gems lol now a few of you last week spotted that I was working on altering a tin.

And this is it! although I later remembered to stick the other 's' on for Bits N Bobs lol, this wasn't the easiest thing to alter having round edges etc. It was going to be a little sewing box, but after all the bit n bobs I have I thought it would get more use

Here is the inside, which has since been filled with my new jewellery bits well I had to put them some where didn't I?  I also thought I would enter this into a challenge. Alter It Monthly (AIM) which is to use metal in some way. I have already entered once with an altered bottle cap.

It's gone much cooler here today very cloudy and I have to get out and about with the little man before it rains. I will do my best to get round to you all later when he is having a nap (please let him have a nap!) Love to you all as always Dawn xx
