Cards I made L8 Last night or early this morning :-)

How many of us crafters stay up Until the early hours? A few I bet, so I had to wait to take these photos until this morning. I really loved making the top one that's because my hands are full of ink! I got really messy lol I have red fingers I look like I have been working in a beetroot factory ha ha. Yep I got my brayer out and my trusty SU inks and played, how much fun? think I will be doing this again very soon!

Items Used: Card stock SU Very Vanilla & Rose red. Inks Rose Red, So Saffron & Certain Celery. Pearls Crystal Stickers (wont buy these again! glue every where doh!) Oh I used my trusty SU Punches Scallop & Circle 1 3/8. I also used some sequin paper,Paper Artsy Stamp and the image Marilyn Monroe is to die for but nothing on the stamp to say where it's from disaster! Love the finish what do you think?

I got a FREE stamp! from the 'Craft Stamper' I have to say I don't normally use them but hey ho I thought I would have a go he is so cute don't you think? & designed by no less than Sugar Nellie! so it had to be good! lol I have been very tempted to go over and get some Gorgeous Girls but I have to resist.

Couldn't resist the new Whiff Of Joy though How beautiful are they? had to get one although I wanted more! the precious swing is out of stock! Well it is very sunny today here in Hyde who can blame her? I was taking photos of my gdn I have lost of lovely things growing, Rhubarb Red Currants, Lettuce, potatoes Strawberry's and that just a few not bad for a very small gdn!

Jazz Inspirations 13 / The Sweet Shop ssss08

I Have followed the colour challenge from Jazz Inspirations and the sketch from the Sweet Shop I told you the link to Daily Dare was good! here are two more I was directed too and these were all on Sat so I have been making them and so on to get them up today! I found the sketch and colour combo quite difficult this time actually (real Challenges) the Jazz inspirations take their colours from a jazz album this week was Grey, Purple & White so I have done my very best to stick to this as you can see! as well as the sketch this was because of the colour challenge I was looking for some patterned paper with the Req. colours then I was going to stamp the card stock in the end I left it like this kinda classy I thought for a wedding card what do you think? let me know!Items Used: Stampin' Up! Card Patterns Sk 19

Hi I have decided to have a go at Card Patterns Sketch I really enjoyed doing this one! I have had a root around in my crafty draws and found this to die for paper well I had to make something. I found this blog through The Daily Dare! there is a link in my side bar if you ever want a challenge then this gives you lots to choose from each day so click and go see I have come across some I have never heard off and they are great fun!So On to the sketch by Card Patterns sketch 19 I really liked it (oh I have just realised I forgot to put my green bow on the top!) I will but the photo stays as is! I love this paper & getting in to the paper piecing a few days ago I thought I would defo wear this as a top. How many times have you seen paper and thought I want a dress in that! lol (or is it just me?) well I got my wish, well nearly I made this darling SN (poise) have the top & the flowers lol I practically PP it all lol except the hair! she looks so sophisticated don't you think? very lush! On to the Items Used: SN Stamp Poise, DP Making Memories (MM) Die cuts MM Brad MM Card stock stash and I had to use two Stampin' Up! SU Punches edge scallop & Scallop I was marking a flower again lol so what do you think of the new challenge pop along and have a look I live this sketch & will use it again almost certainly! Sketch Sat 55 - Allsorts ch5

The Challenge over on Allsorts is to use triangles and it also goes well with the sketch over on Sketch Saturday as it has triangles in so I thought I would combine the two.I love these colours together what do you think? I think they go really well together. Although I can't take the credit (alas) I was blog hopping and saw this combo so I had to use it I have added the black as I feel it adds to the others really well.

Here is my close up! notice the book like edge? I thought it would be a change (well really I made a mistake and it turned out quite well) Sometimes our best work is through a mistake lol.

Roses On Paper Ch 13

This is a colour theme of Green, Pink & Yellow Having done some paper piecing earlier today I thought I would do it again with the same stamp for ROP Not only that but there is also a Guest DT place available well actually THREE places for a new Bells n Whistles store it sounds wonderful there will be stamps! I love stamps lol But they have Elizabeth Bell on board. I love her stamps Elizabeth Bell Stamp lol well I have a few lol. I would love to be a DT member and if I get to work with Elizabeth Bells stamps I am a happy Bunny, so I thought I would give it a go you never know! You have to have a blog Yep covered that, You have to entered a ROP challenge, Yep here it is and you have to be a follower did that too! so lets see what happens lol why not have a go your self pop along it's open until the 30th June so get your skates on. Magnolia wk 9

The Magnolia Challenge this week is paper piecing. Now two new things here the challenge and Magnolia it's self I only have one lonely magnolia stamp & she was a gift from my lovely friend Helene from Sweden (Org Dutch) any way she is just the most lovely friend, Hi Helene Kramar (Hugs in Swedish). Oh you will pick up all sorts on this blog lol even a new language he he. And I have never done paper piecing before either so a real challenge to get ones teeth into.

I have seen 'Paper Piecing' before in fact there was a big spread in a magazine I have and I'm sure it was magnolia stamps they used so this was a nice reminder to have a go and a fab way to use up lots of little pieces of scrap! Project Tuesday

So an Origami box very simple and the instructions given are easy to follow. I may well use this for a class as this is simple but very effective and once you have your box you can really goto town and decorate however you like. I have used all Stampin' Up! (SU) items for this I even made a flower (really easy if you would like to know how to do this leave me a comment) there real easy but if I get a few comments I will show how you on a later post. Stamped candles any one?

I will be doing this as a tutorial at my next Demo (something different than a card) and why not this is very easy to do.

All you need is a heat gun, some tissue paper a stamp some ink some baking/greeseproof paper & a candle there are plenty of tutorial videos stampin candle tutorial so I have included what I think are one of the best ones for you (look out for the Church candle we have this stamp for Christmas but is is so good) but honest it's real easy give it a go! if I can do it I know you can. Suggestions for MY sons 21st

It's my son's Birthday, I don't really have any male stamps he isn't sporty at all, doesn't really have any hobbies but he is a new daddy. I have been racking my brains and nothing is coming to mind so I thought I would ask my crafty buddies if they have any ideas any links to send me to that may help? anything you have done that may give me a starting point!

I have some keys to put on the card! from K & Co but I did think that maybe I would get a photo of him when he was young and put it on a card...... you know look who's 21? lol I'm sure he would like that but just in case any of you have any other fab ideas and you may like to share with me. It is his Birthday 18th June Thursday so not long leave me your comments please...... I will show you what I come up with, Love Dawn xx

Just a few things I knocked up! lol

I buy this Magazine every month, rarely do I actually make anything out of it the last thing I did was a take on a diary they had. My version was this Twilight Note book that was back in Feb. go have a look! I loved it, when I had finished I sent it to a lovely friend who is Twilight Mad in America. But I opened this months, Not only is here a HUGE spred on Stampin' Up! which is FAB by the way. But this little idea of making your very own bracelet so I thought what a wonderful thing to make. So off I went lol. I have used the Tart & Tangy Stamp set as when they are stamped are all round and easy to make, but if you get some back ground stamps (special offer of Free Back gound stamps in June & July) you can do all sorts.

How did I make it? well it took longer than I thought it would. But it is very simple to make (just takes a while) I had four images that I stamped on four colours real red, old olive, pumpkin Pie & whisper white (four times each) I used four inks same as before only instead of whisper white I used Black stazon. I had some beads and some clear elastic, punched holes in each corner, after folding every circle in half (use a bone folder it needs to be crisp.) Then threaded the elastic through (like tram lines)one at the top & bottom. (The magazine has step by step photos) it is as I said very easy just takes some time! Its worth it I think and imagine the colours for summer? this is just an example of the many variations you could do.

Finally I wanted some flowers (but they had to be SU) so I made some using the scallop punch and SU carstock with SU buttons, the 3D one could also be a broach to go with your bracelet and if you have a small circle punch you can make matching earrings too! dead simple low cost and very trendy not to mention Unique, no one else will have any the same. I love stamping! it's not just for making cards is it? oh and as I said in the magazine there is a HUGE spread and they use SU stamps to make your tea set unique too! Stamp with us Theme challenge

The theme this week over at SWU was 'Congratulations' So I thought of new babies immediately so I went with it! I have seen these cute lambs on You tube being made thought I would give it ago then a lovely lady named nicci sent me a gorge card, you can see the card she sent me! over on her blog. So if I ever needed a nudge lol so here it is my lovely little lamb I haven't all the punches you need so I improvised! (wish I had a small circle punch would of rounded off the legs tried by hand but they looked odd so went with it as they were, straight!) not that bad are they? Have to say I am loving all the animal punch things that this lady in America does she is an SU demo here is her Lamb tutorial she has lots more so go have a look she is FAB! Items Used:Stampin'Up! WOJ ch 33/Mojo Monday wk90

Over at WOJ the challenge is any layout but must include a charm! And over on Mojo Monday You have to follow a sketch (I tried to upload but there was a continuing error) so you will have to pop along to see if I copied it ok lol. Now I wasn't keen on the sketch I found it a challenge, but I guess that's why we do them isn't it? But I did have fun! I love colouring images in (even if I'm not that good!) And I have to say I am pleased with the end result! I think the papers match the image hat & dress perfectly with the cherries, don't you think?

I won an award!

Well Two actually! how cool is that? and they are from Barbra Isn't that lovely? She has a great blog and is very cleaver! Now the top one is the most personal one as it's for the support I have shown her through comments on her blog! I am so touched that she would give this award to me. If it was allowed I would give it right back as she is a constant support to me & my blog, but I think I have to forward this on to five more people, now that's the hard part isn't it!

The First person Has to be Alison59 she always supports me & my blog and she has become a very good friend now she doesn't have a blog but if any one deserves this award she does. Day out in Bakewell (Derbyshire UK)

This is a very picturesque place to go I love it here. We have been coming here since the children were small and now my oldest says he wants to take James (well we may have to take them as they have no car)There was a man catching trout, I am not kidding you don't need a rod to catch trout here, there are so many and on a warm day you can just pick them straight out of the river if you really wanted too! Fish Chips & Peas on the river how YUMMY! We had the best time eating these lol I saved some for all the birds the geese are so tame here they let you stroke them!

This is a new addition to Bakewell since we last went there we have lost the Model shop! it was SO FAB Micheal loved it lots of cars Dinky, Matchbox etc but last time we went he had gone and the shop was empty this time LOOK! a FAB SWEETIE Shop! we relived our childhood in here for about 45min and spent way too much money! but I bought American Creme Soda Kali with hard Bassets Liquorice oh bliss!

This is a wide open space onto the river or back to the shops it's lovely (and the sun shone all day) it was indeed a great day! What a beautiful day! I could add a lot more photos but just a few so you don't get too board! lol Hope hope you liked my little day out! Using Shrink Plastic!

Now I wanted to do this ages ago but never got round to it, and now I am having a root round my crafty stash looking for give a ways look what I find, Yep Shrink Plastic! so I thought I would use some for this card.You have got to love these stamps haven't you? I was looking for something to use the shrink plastic on so I thought of the theme (woodland) and instead of all autumn colours, went for springy colours, well certainly bright lol. The tricky thing with shrink plastic is when your doing it you think you have done something really wrong! because it just shrivels up into such a mess, but fear not keep applying the heat and it will flatten it's self out. So these stamps are done with black stazon and as they are solid there is no colour to them but you can colour your stamped images.Let's start from the beginning, pick a stamp and the plastic you are going to stamp on! I used clear but I got some pink blue & frosty too! (it comes in lots of colours so knock your self out!) So stamp your image and colour it in. Then use a punch if you like or cut round the image. Heat up the heat gun and hold the plastic down with a lolly pop stick (whatever is to hand lol) then as you apply the heat it starts to ravel in on it's self (don't panic!) keep the heat on and watch it flatten out. Now at this point you can mold it (like if your using it for jewelry) or put something on it to flatten it (careful it is hot!) and that's it dead easy! I hung a couple of bunnies and stuck an owl in the centre of a layered circles and then Stamped some at full size for the main image. What do you think?

Sugar Bowl ch12

Hi and what A beautiful day we have here in the NW of England so much so after this post we (ma & darling Hubby) are off to Bake well for the day! one of my very favorite places to go not too long a drive and lovely markets and shops not to mention the river and greens (best fish & chips) I know not even near the sea! but they are FAB! also the lovely Tea rooms and adorable shops lots of shops! he he. So will have to hurry! as hubby is in shower and I have yet to get in there lol, here goes.

I Love the Sugar Bowl sketches. You never know one day I may WIN. This week we had to follow a colour theme of blue and green. Now I did two images as I didn't know which one would look best, in the end I couldn't pick between the two! so I have uploaded both although I am sure it will only count as one entry (would be good if you could do more than one wouldn't it? lolI have used All SU products for these cards, apart from the stamped image which is SN and a few extras from stash! I am sorry I can't give my SN up! I love to colour them in, and with the FAB SU inks (I am always raving about SU inks so I won't do it again) It is easy to colour such lovely images.

SU stamp Whimsy (for the Jumbo Stampin Around Handle) very easy to use and as you can see here om the white card stock making a love patterned paper! SU Ribbon Gross grain 1/4 inch Whisper white Died using bashful blue ink. Inks used: Bashful blue Old Olive, Certain Celery, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie & Pretty in Pink! The Flowers are Making Memories the Bling is prima (some large swirls cut down here) & brad is also Making Memories. A couple more cards I made this morning!

Hi again, what am I like I haven't posted consistently last week (was poorly and then had Grand son) so probably feeling very guilty and now how many in a week? lol well the weather has gone a little cooler today but it is still nice out, weather man is predicting rain in the next day or to (shame I so love the warmth of the sun)

I must just say that my prayers go out to all the family's & people concerned to the AIR FRANCE flight, how dreadful. Love and prayers to you all.

Another Sugar Nellie image. I do like this one It's called Time flies and the other one too! you can get this and all other SN stamps at Funky Kits the other one I used was called Poise that's further down the blog, they are lovely, I can't help it! see I don't only use Stampin' UP! products (just nearly every where lol. Items Used for this card are: SU card stock Whisper White, Pretty in Pink & Bashful Blue SU design paper Junior Varsity SU stamp set 'Fresh Cuts' SU inks Pretty in pink, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive & Certain Celery. This is a lovely stamp it was given to me by a lovely friend in Sweden Helene (hi Hunny) It's a Magnolia (the only one I have!) she is very pretty though don't you think? Items Used SU card stock Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White & Old Olive SU stamp set 'Fresh Cuts' SU inks Pumpkin Pie, Certain Celery, Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip & Ruby Red. I also put some Ranger glitter glue Stickles Diamond on her wings and petty coat. It is a very simple card but none the less special to me (do you get like that about your creations? do they all become your babies?) It' happens so much to me I almost don't give them away (or send them to people lol) You ask my boys & Hubby all the cards I have made for them all end up back in my stash lol (I am SO bad!). Get well Milly

An elderly lady who goes to the same church as me, had a heart attack Sunday morning! Poor Milly thankfully she is recovering and has had a stent put in. She is still in hospital so I made this card for her and I will be popping up later today for a visit. She is a lovely woman and I really hope this will brighten her day.I was going to enter this for the Basic Grey challenge 'doodling' but I can not get on the site, I know they said they would be making some changes soon, so if any one has the new basic grey challenge add please leave a comment and put me out of my misery.

Is it at all selfish That I really enjoyed making this card? knowing it may make Milly's day a little brighter. I really put my all into it. The stamped images are WOJ and the DP are Basic Grey Sultry (very pretty) also BG letters. I have coloured the card and edged it with Stampin' Up! Inks, I have just bought some more can't wait for them to arrive (I know you may think I am bias but they really are the best ink pads I have used I love them! great quality and a fab size.) Oh, you can get sets of smaller ones if you prefer, but I do love the flip flop design. Work shop cards

Hi, at my last work shop I demonstrated two cards and they were very popular so I thought I would show you here. Now silly me I always take my camera to my demos but I NEVER remember to take photos (note to self give the camera to hostess lol)So, the one above is what every body made (make & take) only I changed it as I thought it would look better with the tears at the bottom rather than the side. I gave the one I made away! so this one will have to do! I used versamark and the SU chalks & daubers to colour the (hostess only) stamped image, it's a great stamp! and you get four stamps like the one above but all different themes. Have a look at my on line catalogue, it is a level one hostess gift. I love the way that the SU card stock is coloured all the way through, This is one of the things this card demonstrates really well.

The card above is so cute! I did chocolate chip and certain celery on the night. I think I like that more (but as I said very popular & I didn't get to bring them home ;-) I used the 'Simply said' stamp set, I really love it's versatility, you get ELEVEN stamps for £22.95 really great value! and only available from an SU demonstrator! Just a quick side not here you do not have to have a party to buy SU items (although it's great fun!). Tri fold card

This style I think you will find familiar, I thought I would show you just how different they can look with a change of colour or the use of stamps.

I really like these colours. It must be the lovely weather we're having (with a name like Dawn how can I not love the SUN!) It's amazing how ever one's mood is uplifted with the sun. So lets enjoy it I say. lol

The difference with the second is I have just used plain card stock instead of Patterned paper and stamped it to match the main image there are also trees on the inside of the flaps. I thought woodland animals and went all autumn colours but this same card would work wonderfully in spring colours too. I have done this to show contrast in colours and the use of stamps.

Items Used: Top Card- Whisper White and so saffron card stock So Saffron design papers. Stamp sets Oval all & Simply said, inks ruby red & more mustard. Bottom Card-Creamy caramel & pumpkin Pie card stock, inks Chocolate Chip & Pumpkin Pie, Stamp Set 'Forest Friends' cute stamps reminds me of Bambi. Stamp with us Sketch challenge

It is so sunny here this morning I can cope with this weather for weeks lol keep shining Mr Sun! This is why I made this card. Over on SWU.

This is the sketch over on the Stamp with Us challenge site. It's very simple isn't it but very effective go have a look at what the DT came up with they are so so clever.This is my interpretation, as the sun was shining so much I though I would use lovely sunny colours now the card is as bright as out side lol

WOJ ch 32

So here is my entry for the WOJ ch 32 i found it hard to stick to just two colours but the DT have used other colour too! so I hope this is ok the main colours are blue & brown which is a really goof colour combo to I thought I would have a go this week (think I may have just missed it last week) any way I am on time for this one :-) Items used: WOJ stamped image from the summer collection Stampin' Up! stamp for the sentiment inks are stampin up as well bashful blue certain celery pretty in ping and chocolate chip. Card stock SU, Whisper white, bashful blue & close to cocoa Ribbon from stash. Patterned Paper,summer picnic. tools used were SU Scallop oval punch & Large oval punch
